Optical cableless transmission
Němec, Filip ; Křepelka, Václav (referee) ; Filka, Miloslav (advisor)
This diploma thesis first handles the general issues concerning free space optics in the~atmosphere. The aim is to design and implementation of optical wireless equipment, which would serve in the laboratories of optical networks. Ronja was used as the basis for a~wireless link, which is already widespread in the world. Students will work with the device, which they may come into contact in the future. It consists several separate modules: transmitter, receiver and inteface. Each module have a separate chapter describing the~functional blocks and circuit realization. Ronja was adjusted for the needs of~laboratory tasks, where additional voltmeters measures received signal strength (RSSI) at~both ends of the link. Measuring device provides adjustment of power the transmitting LED via~computer, measures and sends RSSI values to a PC via~USB or RS232, turn off Ronja with computer. For targeting the pipes of Ronja was developed the mechanical design. In the last part of thesis the device was undergone a series of tests.
Wireless Barcode Reader
Novák, Jan ; Vašíček, Zdeněk (referee) ; Strnadel, Josef (advisor)
This bachelor´s thesis is about barcode symbologies and wireless communication. Goal of this work was to design and construct wireless barcode reader. For communication are used OEM modules Aurel Wireless, working in SRD 868 MHz band. Receiver and transmitter are controlled by microcontroller HC908QY4 .
Wireless OBDII-Bluetooth Interface
Bezdíček, Jan ; Šimek, Václav (referee) ; Bartoš, Pavel (advisor)
The goal of this bachelor's thesis was to design an OBDII interface, which would have been able to communicate with a PC through Bluetooth interface. Designed wireless interface is able to diagnose all OBDII equipped vehicles, but the vehicles have to communicate by some of the supported protocols. It is possible to communicate with a vehicle using a software application or by simple commands in data terminal as well. Main parts of the device are a proprietary ELM327 microcontroller and an industrial Bluetooth module. The built-up device has been tested and it is able to display right values of vehicle sensors and to operate diagnostic trouble codes as well.
Digital wireless communication unit for transmission of audio signal
Stránský, Patrik ; Schimmel, Jiří (referee) ; Pavelka, Ondřej (advisor)
Goal of this diploma thesis is to bring a design and create two cordless communication units and choose suitable factory produced wireless module. Selection depends on parametrs such as bit rate, transmitting power, price, etc. as well as coding and securing signal. Signal is transferred using digital code. The thesis also describes the design, construction of communication units and measurements of their parameters.
Providing IP mobility in Wi-Fi and Wi-Max environment
Klügl, Richard ; Novotný, Vít (referee) ; Skořepa, Michal (advisor)
The bachelor´s thesis is focused on wireless networks within the context of providing support of IP mobility for these networks. This document consists of two main parts, the theoretical part and the practical part. The first one at the beginning includes simple characteristics and classification of wireless networks. Then it is followed by description of actual new trends in wireless networks, focused on the WiMAX technology (IEEE 802.16). At the end of this part is introduced the technology of mobile IPv4 address provided by the MIPv4 protocol. The second main part of the bachelor´s thesis deals with the practical implementation of the MIPv4 protocol into the Wi-Fi and WiMAX environment. For this object is used the OPNET Modeler 14.0 simulation environment, in which are made three network models of these technologies. This simulation shows function of the basic mechanisms of the MIPv4 protocol and reports which of these models have the best performance for supporting VoIP communication.
Wireless thermostat
Králíček, Martin ; Viščor, Ivo (referee) ; Kincl, Zdeněk (advisor)
The Master’s thesis discusses wireless thermostat for a control boiler. In order to complete the project we have to design and realise the whole project with software design. The system contains two units, a master control and a measurement of regulation units. The project initially talks about regulation of heating systems for family houses and larger buildings like schools and stores for example. Next, the project describes the control and regulation units and their potential extension for effective and economical operation. Both units are equipped with microcontrollers, which these control each of function. The communication between both units is provided by wireless interface in free radio band ISM. There is a user interface for the master control unit’s regulation process. The measurement and regulation unit has only the possibility to switch between manual and automatic control for regulation of heating system.
Wireless Game Controller for FITkit Platform
Dujíček, Aleš ; Bartoš, Pavel (referee) ; Šimek, Václav (advisor)
The aim of this work is design and creation of wireless game controller for FITkit platform, which communicates in ISM band 2.4 GHz. In this work are described design of controller and module for FITkit and implementation of firmware.
Wireless network attacks
Brusnický, Pavel ; Martinásek, Zdeněk (referee) ; Stančík, Peter (advisor)
Objective of this thesis is to point out to almost everywhere present flaw in realization of second level network security access to WiFi networks with using traffic tunneling over DNS protocol. Realization has been accomplished by existing utilities OzymanDNS, DNS2TCP, NSTX, Iodine, Heyoka. Measurements were done on realistic traffic on the network. The effort was to show outline of these implementations. Transfer speeds in some implementations can be marked as applicable thanks to high speeds, which are on the same level as broadband internet. Functionality was tested on WiFi network, where was also compromised PPTP VPN tunnel, its function was to provide security of the communication on wireless network due to absence of first level security mechanisms such as WPA, WPA 2 and so on, with the help of Asleap, which comes out of Cisco LEAP attack. At the end of the work are suggested possible countermeasures for securing network by the topology change of the network infrastructure or by implementing IDS.
Smart Home Equipment
Fučík, Jan ; Maršík, Lukáš (referee) ; Zemčík, Pavel (advisor)
This thesis summarizes the subject of intelligent homes and describes some commercial solutions on the market. The thesis covers the design of a simple open, low-cost and easy to use system and also describes the implementation of a pilot system, which uses microcontrollers and wireless data transfer between sensors, actuators and a controller which can be managed over the internet. A possible extension of the system for practical use is also stated in the thesis.
Wireless IR sensor for space intrusion detection
Možný, Radek ; Krajsa, Ondřej (referee) ; Škorpil, Vladislav (advisor)
The bachelor thesis deals with design of wireless space breach detection sensor using sensor HC-SR501 and communication module SI4432. In thesis emphasis is on design of device with as low power consumption as possible using sleep modes of microprocessor Atmega328. Thesis includes desighn of temperature measurement, battery state measurement and subsequent broadcasting of gained information to receiving base station. Task of basae station is to evaluate information and among other things decide whether or not is guarded space breached. Two sensor network is further elaborated when sensors are sending periodical notification, person detection alarm, sensor manipulation alarm or warning about low battery state. Base station has regimes guarded and unguarded .
