Malafová, Hana ; Stroukal, Dominik (advisor) ; Tříska, Dušan (referee)
This paper tries to find a relationship between retail price of gasolin and Exchange rate of USD. For analysis uses monthly data for period of 1/2000-4/2012 for three states of European union: Czech republic, Hungary and Republic of Poland. Variables for this model are exchange rate of USD and domestic currency, crude oil price, average income and season. Even with problems, which models have, they assure about fundamental influence of crude oil on retail gasoline price and bring into discussion the influence od USD for small open economies, which are not able to influence the crude oil price by themself. According to results 1% change will cause 0,73% change in detail gasoline price for Czech, 0,72% change for Hungary and 0,13% for Poland. Furthermore the paper examines connection between exchange rate of EUR and gasoline prices in all countries, but fails to prove it.
Survey on wage and price formation of Czech firms
Babecký, Jan ; Dybczak, Kamil ; Galuščák, Kamil
Using an ad-hoc survey at the firm level, writers investigate the determinants of wage and price-setting practices in Czech firms, the presence and sources of wage rigidity, and reactions of firms to hypothetical shocks. Although the evidence of downward wage rigidity is not widespread, they find particular relevance of efficiency wage models for wage rigidity, while implicit contract theory is relevant in firms employing mainly highskilled labour.

They devise a model for tradable goods that combines the market competition and the pricing-to-market literature and we empirically document the contrast between perfectly and imperfectly competitive markets for the export-production relative price responses to exchange rate changes.

Beyond Balassa - Samuelson: real appreciation in tradables in transtion countries
Cincibuch, Martin ; Podpiera, Jiří
Using the simple arbitrage model, writers of this work decompose real appreciation in tradables in three Central European countries between the pricing-to-market component (disparity) and the local relative price component (substitution ratio). Appreciation is only partially explained by local relative prices. The rest is absorbed by disparity, depending on the size of the no-arbitrage band. The observed disparity fluctuates in a wider band for differentiated products than for a commodity like goods.
