Thermal Plasma Assisted Gasification of Polymers

Gasification of various hydrocarbons with help of thermal plasma is studied at the Institute of Plasma Physics. Such treatment can be way of recycling of polymer waste with production of high purity synthesis gas (syngas) mainly composed of hydrogen and CO. A plasma torch with hybrid stabilization of arc used in the reactor allows higher efficiency for gasification than other processes. This work is preparation of the experiment for gasification of PET. Basic description and analysis of the gasification reactor is done. Analysis of reaction taking place is made. On the base of derived information optimal composition flow rates and power balance of the process is calculated.

Application of mica based pigments

Properties of sandwich pigments based on mica coated with metal oxide layers are described. Various mica types were characterized and used for pilot plant scale synthesis of pigments. Paints containing this kind of pigments were formulated and tested anticorrosive coatings. Synthesis and characterization of some thermally stable pigments based on mixed metal oxides is also described.

Analysis of the Municipal Budget of selected Cities

The thesis aims to answer the question whether the budgets of Kamenice nad Lipou and Pelhřimov in the years 2011 - 2015 correspond with objectives and needs of these cities and the differences in the structure of the individual budgets are caused by the different objectives that are determined by municipal policy. The specific goal is to evaluate the financial stability and indebtedness in regard to appointed goals. The analysis, synthesis and subsequent comparison of budgets, final accounts and the available data and informations about cities Kamenice nad Lipou and Pelhřimov in years 2011-2015 was conducted. Based on these methods the hypothesis was confirmed that the municipality budgets of Kamenice nad Lipou and Pelhřimov in years 2011-2015 correspond with the objectives set out in planning documents and with the needs of citizens. In fulfilling these appointed objectives cities not risk hazardous indebtedness and bad economic situation. It was further verified that the structure of the municipal budget Kamenice nad Lipou and Pelhřimov in years 2011-2015 differs in regard to the appointed municipalities objectives.

A Qualitative Study of Strategy Creation in a Sports Organization

The master's thesis deals with the issue of the strategy-making process and the development of the strategic planning cycle in sports organizations. The purpose of this thesis is to provide a qualitative study of how managers of the hockeyball club SK Suchdol nad Lužnicí are working with the strategy within the whole strategic planning cycle. The aim of this thesis is to point out the differences between theory and practice and to offer some recommendations for the improvement of the efficiency of the strategy-making process in the above mentioned club. The theoretical part of this thesis is concerned with the research and the synthesis of the contemporary Czech and foreign literature related to the strategy, strategic planning cycle and its perception in the sports environment. The practical part of this thesis deals with the analysis of the strategy-making process in the hockeyball club SK Suchdol nad Lužnicí. This analysis is executed by the qualitative method, i. e. by personal interviews with the individual members of the club, who are participating in the strategy-making process and working within the strategic planning cycle. To conclude this thesis, specific outputs are generated, which are based on a comparison of the obtained information with the theory. These outputs can serve as recommendations for the improvement of the efficiency of the strategy-making process, both for managers of the analysed sports club, as well as for other executives and managers of similar sports organizations.

Work with children of migrants in Berkat civil society Organization

This bachelor's thesis is based upon the synthesis of my own findings and experience with working with the children of migrants. It results from my three-year involvement in Berkat Civil Society Organization activities. In the first part of my thesis I focus on introduction of the issues related to migrants in the Czech Republic. I address particularly the integrative process and the institutions that play important role in inclusion of foreigners into society. In subsequent chapters I investigate primarily the lives of children of migrants in schools and families as well as their mental troubles I encounter during my work with them. I also introduce a specific example of the work with children through detailed description of one of the trips with children outside of Prague. By using various examples I present particular specific dissimilarities of children of migrants from other children. In the final conclusion I introduce several suggestions for changes that would, according to my opinion, enable improvement of the programs of Berkat Civil Society Organization. Analysis of the monastic influence at current level of religiosity in Slovakia.

This bachelor's project is focusing on the locality of Monastery and answering the question, if the villages with Monastery will presently show increase of religiosity. We are taking in account the activity of the Monastery also size and position of the village that the Monastery is found. Based on our analyses of those factors that affect the influence of religiosity, synthesis is made which will pursue the final statistic facts and the results interpretation.

King lists of the ancient Syropalestine

King lists of ancient Mesopotamia are a well-defined and described part of the "scientific" literature of the era, known as the Listenwissenschanft. This work aims to put on the same level the king lists of the neighbouring area of Syro-Palestine - the lists discovered in Ebla, Mari, and Ugarit and published over the last twenty-five years. Its value as a historiographic source is questioned and the lists are understood primarily as an expression of the royal ideology. The study is based on the analyses of individual anthroponyms, examining the lists especially on the basis of intuitively selected criteria and studying their function and relation to the narrative fabric. The main difference is between the lists from Mari, which constitute a part of the Babylonian administrative tradition, and the lists from the west of the region. These are a synthesis of the legendary past, the cult of the dead and the political situation of the time, which is most apparent in the parts dedicated to the oldest rulers. The lists are therefore related to each other in space rather than in time.

Voice conversion, i.e. modification of a speech signal to sound as if spoken by a different speaker, finds its use in speech synthesis with a new voice without necessity of a new database. It is very useful in special aids for blind and partially sighted people, e.g. Braille notetaker based on the Pocket PC. This paper evaluates voice conversion implemented in the Czech and Slovak text-to-speech (TTS) system based on cepstral description of speech database using the source-filter speech model.

Qulity of lipids in foods

The title of the work is "Quality of lipids in food". The work is divided into two parts. The first is theoretical, the other is experimental. The theoretical part is divided into two chapters. The first section describes general chemical composition and properties of lipids. This point is further divided into four sections, which are specifically focused on different groups of lipids. The second theoretical point of attention is focused on the importance of fat in the diet, the synthesis of fatty acids, lipid digestion and issues related to absorbancy and lipid transport. This section also contains a passage which refers to further dietary recommendations, among which highlights the question of the proper quantity and quality of fat contained in food. There are not omitted principles of proper use and storage of fat. The last section of this section deals with dietary supplements and functional foods from which the positive effect on human health is expected. The experimental part is based on chemical analysis of twenty samples of dietary supplements containing n-3 fatty acids. These fatty acids play a vital role in the prevention and treatment of many diseases, especially myocardial infarction or ischemic heart disease.
