Use of developmental kinesiology elements in the prevention of spinal injuries
KAMÍROVÁ, Barbora
My bachelor thesis deals with the application of elements of developmental kinesiology in the prevention of vertebral disorders. The theoretical part of my bachelor thesis contains a description of the back anatomy and the most common vertebral disorders which can be prevented by therapy. The next chapters focus on the core system and developmental kinesiology, where the single phases of delevopment are described in detail. These phases result in exercises that are then used in a set of exercises. The last chapter of the theoretical part describes methods on neurophysiologycal basis often used in the therapy of vertebral disorders. They include DNS concept, Vojta therapy, Roswitha Brunkow therapy and ACT method. The practical part includes a set of exercises created on the basis of position in developmental kinesiology and uses knowledge from the theoretical part. To evaluate the effectivity of this set of exercises the thesis contains 4 case studies. A research file was created with three woman and one man aged from 20 to 27 years, all of them active sports people. For four months they practised the set of exercices twice a week at home and once a month they visited the individual therapy to control the quality of exercising. The following methods were used for collecting data during my research: kinesiology analysis focused on anamnesis, check-up by sight and functional tests for which I used dynamical tests for spine and core tests from Kolář. Testing at the beginning and at the end of the therapy was identical. To evaluate the effect of the set of exercises I used a semi-structural interview where I focused on the subjective feeling from the therapy and to get an answer to the research question, which was to find out which exercise is the most effective in the participants´ opinion. The results of the therapy show an obvious positive effect of the set of exercises, based on positions from developmental kinesiology, on the function of the movement system. The participants feel a subjective improvement of posture and in all cases there were obvious positive changes, especially in testing of core system. Evaluated as the most effective exercise was number 1 - position of a three-month-old baby lying on its back and modifications of this exercise with use of dynamical movement of limbs.
Interventional motion program for women over 40 years old focuses on back pain
BOKROŠOVÁ, Petra
The bachelor thesis is focused on interventional movement for women over 40 years old with focus on back pain. The aim was to create and implement a three-month yoga intervention exercise program focused on back problems, which was conducted twice a week. Women suffering from back pain were randomly selected for research. After the age of 40, there are many changes, both psychological and physical, which can lead to back pain and may reduce normal daily tasks in the future. All exercisers underwent an initial measurements and random evaluation for the experimental and control groups. A second measurement was carried out during the intervention program and a final measurement after the end of the intervention program. In the evaluation of the length of the spinal straighteners, the experimental group achieved an increase of 2.2 cm, in the evaluation of the mobility of the spine and hips it achieved an increase of 2.6 cm and in the evaluation of the square lumbar muscle by 2.4 cm. An evaluating the strength of the neck flexors achieved an overall improvement of 3 seconds and evaluating the strength of the abdominal muscles achieved improvement of 2,8 seconds. Back pain decreased by 2.6 levels at the last measurement. Due to yoga exercises, we managed to see an improvement in both groups. There was better flexibility and partial removal of back pain.

The influence of rounded shoulder posture on the intensity of low back pain
Vaverková, Eva ; Rašev, Eugen (advisor) ; Pavlů, Dagmar (referee)
Title: The influence of rounded shoulder posture on the intensity of low back pain. Objective: The objective of this paper is to determine whether there is a connection between low back pain and a forward shoulder posture. Methods: 23 probands divided into two groups according to pre-established criteria participated in this study. The control group consisted of 10 probands without a forward shoulder posture and without low back pain. The second experimental group consisted of 13 probands with a forward shoulder posture and with low back pain lasting at least three months. The experimental group took part in a four-week therapeutic programme aimed at correcting the forward position of the shoulder joints. This programme consisted of therapy used by Dr. Rašev - the application of a hot towel roll and elastic resistance exercises with Thera-Band. The forward shoulder posture was assessed visually and with a digital caliper. The numerical pain rating scale (NRS) was used to determine whether the low back pain changed when the forward shoulder posture was corrected. Muscle activity in the lumbar spine was monitored by surface electromyography. Results: At the end of the four-week treatment programme, all probands reported reduced low back pain on the numerical scale, although the forward position of...

Telska, Viktorie ; Křivánková, Markéta (advisor) ; Nováková, Pavlína (referee)
Title: Comparation of posture of the body of overweight and obese people and problems associated with it Objectives: The aim of the bachelor thesis is to compare the differences in posture between people suffering from overweight and obesity and to compare the difficulties associated with posture in these two groups. Methods: The method of determining the BMI value and the method of bioelectric impedance analysis of the body using the Tanita weight was used to determine the exact sample of probands and to divide them into the category of overweight and obesity. Furthermore, methods of evaluation of posture according to Jaroš and Lomíček, according to Klein, Thomas and Mayer and Trendelenburger's test were used. Lastly, a questionnaire survey method was used to identify difficulties in overweight and obese probands. Results: The results indicate a higher prevalence of wrong posture in obese probands compared to overweight probands. The incidence of musculoskeletal disorders was comparable in both groups of probands. The incidence of other disorders was more common in obese probands on average.
