Effective Information and Knowledge Sharing in Supply Chain
Dejl, Vlastimil ; Voráček, Jan (advisor) ; Kincl, Tomáš (referee)
The thesis - Effective Information and Knowledge Sharing in Supply Chain - is situated in the Fast Moving Consumer Goods segment, in the packaging design environment. In this environment the process of introducing new product to the market and it's optimization across the supply chain is analyzed. The situation on the market forces suppliers to continually lower costs and shorten production times. One way of how to resist to this pressure is an effective and efficient information and knowledge exchange between all participants of the process. The thesis is divided into two parts. The first one focuses on theoretical determination of basic terms and topics which are further discussed in the second -- practical -- part. In the second part the FMCG environment, sources of failures and inefficiencies are analyzed and optimization of the process of introducing new product to the market is proposed, all from the packaging design perspective.

Secondary objective will be the formulation of the critical factors determining the current packaging technology in the beverage industry in order to be able to propose measures to ensure the optimization of producing and packaging soft drinks. Results of the thesis came to the fact, that it would be appropriate to create a completely new system of producing and packaging soft beverages. Beverage itself would be produced by postmix technology. The postmix device would be placed directly into the markets. The customers will have the possibility to choose to use their own bottle or bottle provided from the selling machine attached to the postmix device. This means that the bottle will be used more times and the final price of the product will decrease. The customer will pay only for beverage itself not for the bottle, which costs make more than 3 times more than own beverage. Using this technology is mainly suitable for newly incoming sellers, which do need to gain an market advantage and also decrease the starting costs.
