Design and Implementation of a Profiler for ASIPs
Richtarik, Pavel ; Hynek, Jiří (referee) ; Zachariášová, Marcela (advisor)
The major objective of this work is to analyse possibilities of profiling application specific instruction-set processors, to explore some common profiling techniques and to use the collected information to design and implement a new profiling tool suitable for utilization in the processors development and optimization. This bachelor thesis presents requirements on the new profiler and describes its key parts from the design and the implementation perspective.
High Performance Applications on Intel Xeon Phi Cluster
Kačurik, Tomáš ; Hrbáček, Radek (referee) ; Jaroš, Jiří (advisor)
The main topic of this thesis is the implementation and subsequent optimization of high performance applications on a cluster of Intel Xeon Phi coprocessors. Using two approaches to solve the N-Body problem, the possibilities of the program execution on a cluster of processors, coprocessors or both device types have been demonstrated. Two particular versions of the N-Body problem have been chosen - the naive and Barnes-hut. Both problems have been implemented and optimized. For better comparison of the achieved results, we only considered achieved acceleration against single node runs using processors only. In the case of the naive version a 15-fold increase has been achieved when using combination of processors and coprocessors on 8 computational nodes. The performance in this case was 9 TFLOP/s. Based on the obtained results we concluded the advantages and disadvantages of the program execution in the distributed environments using processors, coprocessors or both.
Efficient Transport of Electronic Mail with Microsoft Exchange Plugin
Jakubis, Tomáš ; Homoliak, Ivan (referee) ; Kováčik, Michal (advisor)
This project discusses optimization of e-mail and SMTP traffic in proprietary product of Microsoft Exchange 2013 in regard of marine industry. The goal is at first to analyze the requirements of this service on slow and unreliable network connections, SMTP traffic and then the product itself. Afterwards it defines specification  for the final product and prepares the test environment. Design and implementation of transport agent using Exchange Management Shell is described for synchronization of two installations of Microsoft Exchange 2013; and focuses on emerged problems during the development, discusses different approaches and possible solutions. Testing shows various shortcomings of found solution. Finally, analysis of final solution shows possible future improvements and a need of security upgrade before applying to production environment.
Optimization of Material Flow in a Manufacturing Company
Novakov, Ivan ; Horník, Patrik (referee) ; Varjan, Matúš (advisor)
Bachelor thesis handles the optimization of material flow in manufacturing company. This thesis describes, based on knowledge of literature, material flow, basic concepts related to the flow of materials, methods Kanban, Conwip and basic methods of storage. The following section is focused on the analysis of the current state of a particular product, optimization possibilities and their impact on technical and economic point of view.
The Study of Performance Increase Production Company
Studený, Tomáš ; Zimen, Tibor (referee) ; Jurová, Marie (advisor)
The aim of the bachelor’s thesis is an evaluation of actual condition of the sequency process in company GRUPO ANTOLIN Bratislava s.r.o. plant Žilina, find out the section of possible improvements and suggest the possible solutions of optimization, which will lead to minimization of costs and higher efficient of performed work. Suggestion for transfer of sequential workplace.
Algorithms for advance production planning and scheduling
Kršák, Pavol ; Kaczmarczyk, Václav (referee) ; Pásek, Jan (advisor)
Bachelor‘s thesis analyzes solution of operational problems of production planning. Pur- pose of the thesis is presentation of operational problems of production planning and following proposal and implementation of planning algorithms in language C# on specific planning problem. By the presentation of the problematic is listed company „COMPAS automatizace s.r.o.”, which enabled implementation of the project. The thesis analyzes planning methods and process of their implementation. More specifically the thesis ana- lyzes evolutionary algorithms, expert systems in planning and deterministic planning via linear programming. In third chapter is described in more details planning program of production of coffee blends, which was provided by COMPAS company. Like a next, the thesis describes specifically proposal of solving based on evolutionary principle. The solving consists of the model of technology designed to production of coffee blends and ActionList. ActionList represents a set of rules that are governed by model. Then ru- les are defined undergone an evolutionary process in an effort to find better solution the existing. Applied features implemented in the system COMES to repurpose by the imple- mentation of module COMES Modeller are developed together with detailed description in the fourth chapter.
Model of MOSFET transistor in program SystemVision
Michálek, Branislav ; Brančík, Lubomír (referee) ; Kolka, Zdeněk (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with modeling of MOS transistor. The theoretical part of the thesis is dedicated to analysis of basic MOSFET structure and operation, basics of modeling in general, descriptions of SPICE models LEVEL1 and LEVEL3 and model parameters extraction by using the optimization technique. The realization part is dedicated to creation of static models for DC analysis for three specific MOS transistors in the form of netlist used in SPICE circuit simulators, using the model parameters, which have been obtained by using the optimization technique in Matlab. Validity of realized models is then verified by comparing of its characteristics, obtained from simulation in SystemVision program, with characteristics from transistor’s datasheets.
Rotor Slot Shape Optimization of an Induction Machine
Szekeres, Vojtech ; Ondrůšek, Čestmír (referee) ; Bárta, Jan (advisor)
This thesis is dealing with optimization by using artificial intelligence of an induction machine rotor slot. The one optimized is commonly manufactured induction motor with simple deep bar rotor. Goal is to design an optimization method and achieve the highest possible value of efficiency and power factor of chosen machine. Work contains the parametric model construction in Ansys Maxwell software, the optimization algorithm assembly and its setup for desirable output, and processing of the results.
Optimization Methods for SIMLIB/C++
Godula, Martin ; Martinek, David (referee) ; Peringer, Petr (advisor)
Bachelor's thesis is concerned with methods for global optimization. It deals with concept of optimization theoretically, and describes its goals and chosen optimization methods, suggests process of their implementation with regard to compatibility with simulation library SIMLIB/C++. It describes their implementation in C++ language and demostrates their functionality on different test problems and evaluates their rate of success.
Hardware Acceleration of Cipher Attack
Okuliar, Adam ; Slaný, Karel (referee) ; Vašíček, Zdeněk (advisor)
Hardware acceleration is often good tool to achieve significantly better performance of processing great ammount of data or of realization of parallel algoritms. Aim of this work is to demonstrate resoluts of using FPGA circuits for implementation exponentially complex algorithm. As example haschosen brute-force attack on WEP cryptographic algorithm with 40-bit long key. Goal of this work is to compare properties and performance of software and hardware implementation of choosen algorithm.
