The source of high-level current impulse
Myška, Radek ; Fiala, Pavel (referee) ; Drexler, Petr (advisor)
The semestral project is concerned with possibilities of a creating very short high–level current pulses. Individual parts of sources and optimum design solutions are solved in the project, which will be realized in terms of bachelor’s project.
Proposal for house backup energy source
Ličman, Petr ; Morávek, Jan (referee) ; Baxant, Petr (advisor)
This master's thesis deals with a design of backup power system, which will be using renewable energy sources, particularly solar energy. The first part describes the potential of solar power plant in the Czech Republic. The next parts describe types of photovoltaic systems, their components, design of photovoltaic systems and possibilities of controlling power consumption. Due to the fluctuating supply from renewable energy sources the thesis also deals with possibilities of predicting of the production electricity from these sources. In the practical part the design of backup power system for the house is done, which will also be working in summer as an optimizer for own consumption. A financial evaluation was done for this proposal.
Model of microgrid with energy storage
Halás, Andrej ; Drápela, Jiří (referee) ; Kopička, Marek (advisor)
This thesis describes the operation , characteristics and operating conditions of microgrid with energy storage , provides insight into the benefits of using listed concepts . The first part deals with the description of microgrid systems, distribution and shows examples of its use. The second part describes individual elements of the storage systems, energy production and energy transformation used in microgrids . The third part describes the work with PSCAD software. The main goal is to design a micro grid model in PSCAD and validate its function.
The grid-off Wind Power, Principle, Effectiveness, Return
Havránek, Miroslav ; Radil, Lukáš (referee) ; Macháček, Jan (advisor)
This Master´s thesis deals with problematics of wind powered generators and their use in off-grid systems. In its first chapters aspects of wind as a power source are analyzed. Further on the thesis focuses on individual components of the off-grid systems. Also designing procedures of these systems are presented in the paper. The key parts of the thesis are 3 off-grid wind power system designs, which can be used to power a family house, and their energetical and economical evaluation.
Use of Photovoltaic Systems in Off-grid Applications
Straka, Michal ; Macháček, Jan (referee) ; Baxant, Petr (advisor)
This masters thesis deals with the use of off-grid photovoltaic systems. First we explain the problems associated with the power and energy potential of photovoltaic system components, design of photovoltaic systems for autonomous operation and the financial evaluation. The result of the masters thesis is to create an application used to design the island system in the whole output range (the smallest power systems to house systems application). The conclusion of the masters thesis is devoted to designing three type of projects from our application – a garden cottage, a family cottage and the house.
Risk analysis of energy storage
Albert, Tomáš ; Kracík, Petr (referee) ; Baláš, Marek (advisor)
This bachelor thesis analyzes the risk of accumulation of electrical energy and problems with its storage. The first part describes the various storage systems of electricity and are given their advantages and disadvantages. In the second part systems are compared against each other. The final section is intended suitability of each system and its use for application in the vicinity of Brno.
Hydrogen and automobiles
Břoušek, Lukáš ; Kloss, Ondřej (referee) ; Kaplan, Zdeněk (advisor)
The purpose of this thesis is to demonstrate the possibilities of hydrogen-based gear in personal cars. The thesis also describes the hydrogen from the perspective of the characteristics, the form of production, conserving, distributing and its utilization. Furthermore, in more details are described and compared currently well-known hydrogen-based devices, for this purpose the complex analysis Well to Wheel will be used. Final part of this publication will be devoted to evaluation of this analysis and also the thesis will outline what are the probable trends of the hydrogen-based technologies.
Integrating renewable energy sources into the power system
Kadlec, Tomáš ; Štelcl, Otakar (referee) ; Moskalík, Jiří (advisor)
The bachelor’s thesis shows challenges with using renewable sources of energy and their integration into the power system. It provides an overview of renewable energy sources and how they affect the functions of power system. It also includes a description of power system and unstable energy production of renewable sources. Thesis shows possible solutions of this instability, especially by using energy storage and some developments in power systems.
Hydrogen fuels
Umlauf, Martin ; Bébar, Ladislav (referee) ; Jícha, Jaroslav (advisor)
Paper presents a basic review and comparison of energy-conservation made of renewable sources. Principal question of paper concerns evaluation of hydrogen-use made of electrolysis of water. First part of the thesis focuses on the production of energy from renewable sources and the possibility of energy-accumulation. The next section describes methods of hydrogen production and utilization of hydrogen as a fuel for combustion engines. Attention is paid to various aspects dealing with construction of combustion engines using hydrogen. Final part of the study presents comparison between combustion engines using known sorts of fuels as to their pollution and emission-level. Next comparison deals with economic cost per kilometer, when different sort of fuels are taken into account. Conclusion concerns approximate calculation of the production of hydrogen from water by electrolysis using photovoltaic power plants.
Hydrogen fuels
Tyagunova, Victoria ; Bébar, Ladislav (referee) ; Jícha, Jaroslav (advisor)
This thesis presents a basic review of production and use of hydrogen fuels. The main focus of this paper is the use of hydrogen in industry and power engineering. The first part concerns various industrial production technologies. The next section is dedicated to the description of hydrogen use for energy conservation, fuel cells, power plants and combustion engines. it includes the comparison of hydrogen and classic fuels. The final part focuses on the economy and costs of hydrogen production and use. This paper will evaluate hydrogen as a potencial fuel for future and will estimate it’s advantages and disadvantages in comparison with conventional fuels.
