Nord Stream Pipeline and its Meaning for European Gas Industry
Moravcová, Iveta ; Svoboda, Karel (advisor) ; Fischer, Jan (referee)
The bachelor's thesis lays emphasis on the North Stream pipeline and its consequences to European gas market. For this reason, first part of theses analyses its legislation and legal framework, including relevant historic elements. It also concerns to liberalization and infrastructure problems. This part enables reader to obtain reference scope and better understanding on legal and political influences related to gas industry. Second chapter provides market breakdown in accordance with registered values: it takes into consideration demand, consumption, supplies and new market trend elements. The most of its part describes import and suppliers relation that provides full view on the most important supplier Russia - fully dedicated in following chapter, which is necessary for understanding of Russia itself and it possibilities resulting also in its attitudes. The theses also deals with influence of Russian domestic consumption and planned supplies for Asia and EU, EU countries dependence on Russian's gas supplies, the 2006 and 2009 gas crisis between Russia and Ukraine and also relates to general causes and implications for EU countries energy security threat. The third part relates directly to the Nord Stream pipeline itself, to its history, Nord Stream consortium shareholders and especially to...
Political and Economic Reasons for Energy Cooperation between the EU and Russia
Evgrafova, Elena ; Svoboda, Karel (advisor) ; Romancov, Michael (referee)
In this paper I investigate the energy cooperation between the EU and Russia from the political and economic points of view. The relevance of the issue is due to the growing role of energy sector, the need for security of energy supply and demand and for political and economic balance of power in the region, and closer economic integration. Two theoretical approaches, geopolitical and bureaucratic, guiding the research, explain the behavior of protagonists. To better understand the present level of cooperation I analyze the background and dynamics of EU - Russia energy trade relations. As a case study, I investigate the Nord Stream project as an example of successful cooperation of Germany as an EU member state and Russia in this field. I discuss challenges for the healthy mutual partnership in the energy sector, namely, high politicization of the issue, monopolization of Russian energy sector and low sustainability of Russian economic development, and mistrust between the protagonists. I attempt to identify possible policy changes aimed to improve this cooperation and achieve fruitful partnership, security and stability. Key words: Russia, EU, energy, cooperation, Realpolitik, international relations, oil, gas, energy dialogue, ECT, security, balance of power, geopolitics, interest groups,...
Study of variants of sewerage in the village Vír
Macík, Ondřej ; Macsek, Tomáš (referee) ; Hluštík, Petr (advisor)
Most of the municipalities in Czech republic have old or even disfunctional sewage systems for built up communal areas. General combined sewage systems built earlier are being today replaced by solutions separating rain waters and sewage waters. Municipality Vír has currently only few sewage branches that consequently flow into Svratka river. Aim of this Diploma Thesis is to propose 3 solutions for sewage produced in communal areas of Vír municipality and its consequent disposal in sewage treatment plant. Each of three solutions feature combined gravity-driven and pressure systems of sewage lines as well as water treatment in proposed MTB as well as household and container WTP. Each of three variant is economically weighed with proposed budget.
Crossroad I/38 a III/4117 near Blížkovice - Study
Herzog, Martin ; Lazar, Zbyněk (referee) ; Radimský, Michal (advisor)
Subject of the bachelor thesis is a study of adjusting T-intersection crossway of roads I/38 and III/4117 near Blizkovice. The current state of the intersection seems unsatisfactory and dangerous when turning left and when exiting from a side road. The aim of this work is to design a modification solution with a requirement for a smooth and safe passage through the intersection in all directions and to ensure that the relocation of the high-pressure gas pipeline does not occur. Three variants of a possible solution were proposed and one of them was chosen that meets all the criteria.
Evaluation of Smap3D software as a tool for design of evaporation system
Odstrčil, Marek ; Naď, Martin (referee) ; Vondra, Marek (advisor)
The main goal of the master thesis is an evaluation of a software package Smap 3D Plant Design in design of evaporation technology, specifically 3D of the pipeline network and its subsequent documentation. The thesis describes evaporation technology in general, then the evaporator testing site in Laboratory of Energy Intensive Processes in NETME Centre is presented, where pipeline network needs to be designed. In the next part a reference 3D model was created as well as a documentation using SolidWorks routing. Subsequently, an equivalent 3D model was created using Smap 3D Plant Design – Piping and a documentation was created using Smap 3D Plant Design – Isometric. Finally, these two methods of creating pipeline were compared to each other, and recommended method was chosen.
Mechanical and fracture mechanical analysis of steel segments cut from Družba oil pipelines DN 500 and DN 700
Gajdoš, Lubomír ; Šperl, Martin ; Šorm, Filip ; Bejdl, Jan
Experimental research of mechanical and fracture mechanical properties of the pipe specimens taken from Družba oil pipeline. In addition to basic static tests and fracture toughness tests, the research also included the determination of the kinetic of fatigue crack growth, incl. analysis of critical crack size.
Short-term and medium-term rehabilitation plan for selected sewer network
Chromík, Radek ; Lžičař, Jakub (referee) ; Raclavský, Jaroslav (advisor)
The author of the thesis deals with the issue of the short-term and medium-term rehabilitation plan for selected sewer netwotk. Resolved area for this work is the town of Břeclav. The Contracting Authority selected the area of interest that falls within the cadastral territory of Břeclav - Poštorná. The aim of the thesis is to elaborate a short-term and medium-term strategy of remediation of a selected part of the sewerage network for the need of a recovery plan.
Steam turbine - pipeline design
Kotas, Jakub ; Kracík, Petr (referee) ; Fiedler, Jan (advisor)
The master thesis deals with the design, tracing and dimensioning of condensate pipeline. In the beginning, a preliminary calculation of heat balance is done. It is followed by a description of the main condensate system supplemented by the computational design of pipeline and the calculation of pressure losses in this pipeline. The crucial part of the thesis is the calculation of pressure losses, which is done in two ways. The first approach to calculation of pressure losses in the pipeline is calculated using values of representative resistance coefficient for pipe ele-ments using Idelchik literature and for individual types of valves using values from datasheets of Siemens Energy suppliers. In the second approach to calculation representative resistance coefficients for pipe elements and individual types of valves CRANE literature are used. Then both approaches of choosing representative resistance coefficients are compared and evaluated. Based on the calculated values, a suitable pump is selected at the end of the master thesis.
Instruction level parallelism in modern processors
Sláma, Pavel ; Levek, Vladimír (referee) ; Pristach, Marián (advisor)
Basic methodology that exploits instruction level parallelism is called pipelining and it is part of every processor for decades. The ideal pipeline increases performance and efficiency for a relatively small cost. But the real pipeline has number of limitations caused by dependencies and hazards between instructions. The aim of this thesis is to discuss techniques used to improve efficency and performance of pipelined processors, to implement selected techniques to a RISC processor model and discuss its benefits.
Assessment of gas pipeline reliability based on mechanical and fracture tests of pipe segments\nfrom VTL DN 500 (lane no. 41 and 56) and VTL DN 300 (lane no. 152)
Gajdoš, Lubomír ; Šperl, Martin ; Šorm, Filip
Determination of mechanical and fracture mechanical properties include analysis of the critical crack dimensions for specific gas pressure and pipe segment (material).
