Petr Molnár Number of pages: 95 Number of attachments: 4 Year defense: 2013 Keywords: physiotherapy, fracture, ankle, joint, foot, osteosynthesis, conservative treatment In the theoretical part of this thesis is processed ankle and foot anatomy, kinesiology of ankle and biomechanics of foot. Another chapter involves traumatology of ankle and foot which lists types of injuries in this area and methods of treatment and diagnosis. The last chapter includes physiotherapeutic methods which can be used in therapy. The practical part includes a case study of two patients with trimalleolar fracture who attended the outpatient rehabilitation. One patient was treated conservatively and the other one surgically. Input and output kinesiology testing, short-term and long-term treatment plan are compiled at both patients, the course of their treatment is recorded and the success of therapy evaluated.
Evaluation of the effect of conservative approach in the treatment of scoliosis
Demešová, Eva ; Pavlů, Dagmar (advisor) ; Novotná, Irena (referee)
Title: Evaluation of the effect of conservative approach in the treatment of scoliosis Objective : The purpose of this thesis is to summarize scoliosis issue, natural history, causes, consequences and effectiveness of conservative therapy. Based on the critical literature review there was an intention to evaluate effects of physiotherapy intervention in the treatment of scoliosis and compare individual physical therapy approaches. Methods: This thesis is a descriptive analysis based on a literature review. Results: Based on the research paper only twelve articles met our criteria that address the effect of exercise to influence scoliosis and its consequences. The most commonly used conservative approaches included: Schroth concept, FITS, SEAS, SIR, Klapp-Cotrell concept, Vojta method, program of active self- correction and task- oriented exercise, forward head corrective exercise program, MedX Rotary Torso Machine and LTX 3000. Despite that fact, each approach showed some effect, it is not possible to say which approach is the most effective. Keywords: scoliosis, conservative treatment, Cobb angle, physiotherapy
Iliotibial band syndrome
Opichalová, Klára ; Valouchová, Petra (advisor) ; Michalčinová, Klaudia (referee)
This bachelor's thesis deals with the problematics of the iliotibial band syndrome. The iliotibial band syndrome is one of the most common knee injuries in runners, but we can also come across cyclists or triathletes with this injury. The thesis divides into two parts. The existing data and information about the matter are presented in the theoretical part. Anatomy and function of the iliotibial band, aetiology of the syndrome and its development, the mechanism of the overuse and then final diagnostics and treatment are described. In the practical part is presented a case study of an amateur cyclist with the iliotibial band syndrome, which constitutes an initial examination, treatment and autotherapy plan and subsequent final examination. After 10 therapy sessions, the patient did not notice any changes in his condition, but he gave a lower pain rating than at the beginning and the range of active and passive movement on the affected leg was increased.
Issues of nursing care for Clubfoot Diagnosed Child
KOŠNÁŘOVÁ, Kateřina
The area of the care of a Clubfoot (pes equinovarus congenitus PEC Clubfoot) Diagnosed Child is the topic of this Paper. Currently, the PEC is the second most frequent congenital deformity within orthopaedics. The theoretical part of this Paper deals with a description of the PEC, its diagnostics, cure and a possible risk of relapse. A sub-chapter of the Paper introduces the Achilleus association, which is the only body in the Czech Republic bringing together parents of PEC diagnosed children. The Paper also focuses on nurses and their role(s) in the nursing care of PEC diagnosed children. The empirical part of this Paper covers a research with the following directions: - parental knowledge of PEC diagnosed children care at home; - specifications of the nursing care of PEC diagnosed children; - nurses and their educational role (if fulfilled) in the nursing care of PEC diagnosed children. The research presented in the empirical part of the Paper was based on a semi-structuralized interview and open coding technique. The interviews were conducted with parents of PEC diagnosed children and care providing nurses who also play an important educational role in this matter. The benefit of the Paper, based on collected research data, is to provide a complete overview on the problems relating to the care of PEC diagnosed children. The outcome is supposed to be also presented to appropriate expert public for further consideration. The research outcome presents that the level of parental knowledge of the PEC diagnosed children care at home is very high and that parents provide their children with a quality care. The Paper describes that specifications of the nursing care of PEC diagnosed children are mainly evident in appropriate and consistent education of parents as the homecare is usually a long-term process. Finally, the Paper also shows that nurses in their educational role in the nursing care of PEC diagnosed children do not fulfil their tasks to such an extent that is expected.
Conservative treatment of spinal deformities in childhood
Sedláček, Radek ; Černý, Pavel (advisor) ; Šolc, Zdeněk (referee)
Title: Conservative treatment of spinal deformities in childhood Objectives: The main aim of this work is to point out the possibility of conservative treatment of spine deformity in a comprehensive view and logical sequence. At the beginning of the theoretical parts, the anatomy and the biomechanics of the joints are adduced and briefly explained, which are necessary for understanding. Below are examples of deformity sleep and the possibility of their correction. Also, the constructional differences of the torso orthoses used for correction and stabilization of the spine, as well as their functional properties, will be mentioned. In the end, in the special parts of this work, the technological and manufacturing process for the production of fuselage orthosis will be written. Methods: To solve this problem will be drawn from specialized literature, magazines and publications, concerning in particular matters of spinal deformity and its proper position. In the chapter on the manufacturing procedure of fuselage bones, my experience will be used in practice. Results: In the conservative treatment of spinal deformities, the interdependence of the components leading to the maximization of success in the treatment of spinal deformity is very important. This is mainly the cooperation between the doctor...
Flexor tendon pulley lesion as a most frequent injury in sport climbing
Čížková, Michaela ; Maršáková, Kateřina (advisor) ; Nováková, Tereza (referee)
Title: Flexor tendon pulley lesion as a most frequent injury in sport climbing Specification of the problem: This thesis is focused on the most frequent injury of the hand in sport climbing. It describes the mechanism of the injury and possibilities of conservative and surgical treatment according to the given guidelines in dependence on its relevance. Objectives: The aim of this thesis is the literary review of accessible literary resources from the field of anatomy, kinesiology and biomechanics of the hand and flexor tendon pulley in connection with a sport activity. Furthermore it is aimed on an analysis why is the flexor tendon pulley injury the most frequent injury in sport climbing, and on methods how to treat this injury in the most effective way from the beginning till the return to the full performance based on therapeutic guidelines created by Dr. Schöffl nad Dr. Hochholzer. This thesis should serve as a therapeutic manual for the Czech sport climbers suffering from this type of injury, which is generally very often underestimated and not treated sufficiently. Methods: This diploma thesis has descriptively-analytical character and is structured as a literary review. Keywords: tendon pulley, hand, sport climbing, physiotherapy, conservative treatment

The thesis is developed in the form of research with a case study of a patient. The thesis consists of a systematic overview of issues connected with radicular syndromes of lower extremities, including anatomical, kinesiological and in particular ethiopathogenetical knowledge. Part of the work describes clinical symptoms of radicular syndromes of lower extremities, its diagnosis and differential diagnosis. Conservative therapy is presented in relation to physiotherapy and its efficiency is evaluated. The findings are applied in an attached case study of a patient). The thesis emphasises specifics of conservative therapy while focusing on empirical findings in the field of rehabilitation and musculoskeletal medicine. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)
