Quality of Life and its Regional Differentiation in the Czech Republic and in Prague / (Case Study of QOL of Praguers)
Heřmanová, Eva ; Drbohlav, Dušan (advisor) ; Illner, Michal (referee) ; Daněk, Petr (referee)
This dissertation deals with the theoretical basis of both the concept of quality of life, its development and different dimensions of meaning, as well as with the possibilities of its operationalization and quantification (of quality of life) using sets of indicators. On the basis of comparison and compilation of existing scientific geographical, sociological and socio-economic literature, then presents the major findings in this area. The methodological and practical part of the dissertation outlines the regional differentiation of the objective quality of life in the Czech Republic at the regional level. Particular attention is paid to a case study of Prague and its subjective quality of life, through the use of sociological data obtained by field survey carried out between 2004- 2006. Based on these data, the work then focuses on evaluating potential correlations between subjectively perceived quality of life of Prague citizens, their preferences and other characteristics. Conclusion of the dissertation represents a synthesis of findings based on theoretical, methodological and practical part of the work and rating of significance of each set of input hypotheses.

Objective assessment and reduction of noise in musical signal
Rášo, Ondřej ; Makáň, Florian (referee) ; Krejčí, Jiří (referee) ; Balík, Miroslav (advisor)
The dissertation thesis focuses on objective assessment and reduction of disturbing background noise in a musical signal. In this work, a new algorithm for the assessment of background noise audibility is proposed. The listening tests performed show that this new algorithm better predicts the background noise audibility than the existing algorithms do. An advantage of this new algorithm is the fact that it can be used even in the case of a general audio signal and not only musical signal, i.e. in the case when the audibility of one sound on the background of another sound is assessed. The existing algorithms often fail in this case. The next part of the dissertation thesis deals with an adaptive segmentation scheme for the segmentation of long-term musical signals into short segments of different lengths. A new adaptive segmentation scheme is then introduced here. It has been shown that this new adaptive segmentation scheme significantly improves the subjectively perceived quality of the musical signal from the output of noise reduction systems which use this new adaptive segmentation scheme. The quality improvement is better than that achieved by other segmentation schemes tested.

Wireless Capsule Endoscopy in Experimental and Clinical Diagnostics of Enteropathy Induced by Nonsteroidal Anti-inflammatory Drugs
Tachecí, Ilja ; Kopáčová, Marcela (advisor) ; Lata, Jan (referee) ; Zavoral, Miroslav (referee)
Introduction Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID)-induced enteropathy represents an important complication related to one of the most commonly used drugs worldwide. The prevalence has been underestimated for a long time due to previous diagnostic difficulties. Objective The main goal of our project was to evaluate the basic characteristics of NSAID- induced enteropathy as well as the benefit of capsule endoscopy in its diagnostics. Methods and results In the first, experimental, part of the dissertation, we elaborated methodology of capsule endoscopy in an experimental animal and checked it on 7 healthy pigs. Although normal enteroscopy pictures were found in all the animals, some limitations were identified. The markedly worse visibility of the small bowel mucosa, and incomplete evaluation were the main ones. A model of NSAID-induced enteropathy (using a 10-day per oral indomethacin administration - 400 mg/day) was projected and verified in 8 healthy pigs consecutively. The endoscopy findings were confirmed by means of autopsy. We revealed the presence of small intestinal mucosal lesions on capsule endoscopy in the majority of the experimental pigs (87.5%). The most frequent findings were mild mucosal injury (red spots and erosions) in 6/8 animals. These findings were confirmed in 50.0% at...

The use of technical means to assess the impact of rehabilitation for upper limb movement
Svozílková, Pavlína ; Hána, Karel (advisor) ; Jeřábek, Jaroslav (referee)
The goal of this thesis was determine whether we can to use an inertial system for measuring the activity of the upper limb signs of paresis in the rehabilitation of people after brain damage with a diverse range of upper limbs functional damage, and demonstrating the expected increase in this activity. One way to obtain objective information about the activity of the upper limb signs of paresis is the use of inertial systems. 21 people who went to therapy on the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine First Faculty of Medicine Charles University in Prague and General University Hospital in Prague were measured. Each of them suffered brain damage more than a year ago and also had impaired upper limb mobility. The behavior of the upper limb signs of paresis were evaluated from data obtained by inertial system and by Jebsen-Taylor test. Inertial units were located on the left and right wrist and left side at the waist. An inertial system measurement was carry out at home about 12 hours a day for 4 weeks, when the persons responsible for training specified exercises. Jebsen-Taylor test was conducted at the beginning of the study, as the initial measurement, and after 4 weeks, as the output measurement. The obtained data were statistically evaluated by Wilcoxon paired test. By comparing the average...

Syntetické pojmy a priori
Duží, M. ; Materna, Pavel
Concepts are explicated as objective procedures ("constructions" in transparent intensional logic). All mathematical concepts are a priori. Analytic mathematical concepts are effective procedures that compute some recursive functions. Synthetic mathematical concepts either identify a non-recursive function or identify a recursive function in a non-effective way. There are more synthetic concepts a priori than analytic concepts a priori.

The Revision of the Past in the Films by Jan Procházka
Havránková, Daniela ; Přádná, Stanislava (advisor) ; Klimeš, Ivan (referee)
Summary: This thesis is devoted to four films based on the topics by Jan Procházka, Long Live the Republic, Coach to Vienna, The Nun's Night and The Ear. In their time they represented an attempt to evaluate objectively the events of the end of World War II and the early era of building communism in Czechoslovakia. The thesis studies the films in the society-wide and political context and tries to express the significance of Jan Procházka as a screenplay writer and his creative approach to history.

Diagnostic investigation of bridge construction
Houška, Radek ; Láník, Jaromír (referee) ; Schmid, Pavel (advisor)
This master thesis refers to implementation exhaustive research of bridge construction. This diagnostics research serves as the first step of objective assessment of the condition of the bridge for further processing of investor intent. In the next two steps was the research focused on detailed research of the substructure for decide of the volume of the reconstruction and on the real condition of the superstructure for the check of the load capacity of the bridge.

Locomotive activities of handicapped persons living in social services facilities
Kaštánek, Milíč ; Lejčarová, Alena (advisor) ; Potměšil, Jaroslav (referee)
Title: Locomotive activities of handicapped persons living in social services facilities Objectives: The objective of the thesis was to determine the quantity of locomotive activities offered to handicapped persons living in social services facilities in the Central-Bohemian Region. The research plan pursued the availability, personal experience with, and objective frequency of, free- time locomotive activities of the target group. Methods: The status and the level of locomotive activities offered to handicapped persons were established using mixed research (a combination of qualitative and quantitative research). The collecting of data took place in the form of controlled interviews within which a non-standardized questionnaire divided in six topical modules was filled out with respondents of the age of 18 to 40 (the average age was 31.4). Such topical modules comprised of 94 polytomic questions, 20 dichotomic questions, and 6 open questions that were responded to by the total of 40 persons (20 males and 20 females) from 5 facilities. Personal questioning of a manager also took place in each facility, the manager responding to five pre-defined open and informative questions. Results: Provided that at least 80% of all respondents performed physical activity, has not been confirmed, but 72.5% of...

The object of this work will also make appropriate proposals rehabilitation of concrete stack by design prestressed cables monostrand in horizontal direction, grouting open cracks and reprofiling surface of chimney stack.

Geometrie konečných deformací, linearizace a inkrementální deformace při počátečním stavu napětí/přetvoření
Fiala, Zdeněk
As usual in continuum mechanics, deformation and stress tensors at a point are considered to form vector (i.e. Euclidean) spaces. However, we can also regard the space of deformation tensors (i.e. positive definite matrices) as a Riemannian manifold of constant negative curvature and prove that the stress tensors then form covectors. From this standpoint we can simply geometrically interpret logarithmic strain and consecutively generalize it for states with initial deformation, naturally and unambiguously introduce objective time derivative (in particular the stress rate) and thus linearize in a geometrically consistent way, and exactly formulate incremental approach.
