Impact assessment of tax policy with static CGE model regarding environmental protection in Czech Republic
Smejkal, Tomáš ; Hurník, Jaromír (advisor) ; Potužák, Pavel (referee)
At the beginning of the year 2014 carbon tax should be introduced in Czech Republic with the main focus on decreasing CO2 emission from firms not involved in EU ETS. Potential repercussions of this regulatory tool depend on multiple complex events occurring within the economy. In response a macroeconomic general equilibrium model with the base year of 2009 was created. This model is able to identify complex events within the economy and simulate initiation of the tax itself. As a result of this model there is a conclusion that not all sectors will decrease their demand for newly taxed fossil fuels and that an increase of consumption for relatively less taxed fuels for instance natural gas might be expected as a result of the tax initiation. Carbon tax will be according to the simulation results indirectly but significantly influencing the energy sector, which will in spite of the relative cut-price of input fuels respond with decrease in electricity production. Consequent higher electricity price will then cause additional costs for taxed sectors. Important conclusion is also the fact that rational behavior of economic agents could lead to a lower emission reduction than is currently being expected and even further increase in the tax rate beyond 15 EUR/tCO2 would probably not lead to a significant reduction of CO2 emissions.

Design of Domestic System for Hydrophonic Cultivation of Plants
Novotný, Tomáš ; Chorý, Tomáš (referee) ; Rajlich, Jan (advisor)
Research in the field of hydroponics from the second half of 20th century and 21st century described how the components of hydroponic systems are related to each other and established a basis for construction and operation of complex and reliable systems of hydroponic agriculture. These systems are predominantly constructed as means for mass production in agriculture or are built by individuals to be used in their garden or greenhouse. The role of design in production of these devices is rather limited. The goal of this work is to introduce hydroponics as a complex system of many interconnected parameters and to assess hydroponic systems from the perspective of design. The objective is to design such a solution that would incorporate all the elements that make up a hydroponic system and design itself. This design ought to respect not only the need to provide a suitable environment for plant growth but also the need of efficiency, ergonomics and design.

An aplication of the mathematical dislocation theory to the problem of the crack in the vicinity of the bi-material interface
Padělek, Petr ; Hrstka, Miroslav (referee) ; Profant, Tomáš (advisor)
The presented diploma thesis deals with a problem of the determination of the stress intensity factor of the finite length crack in the vicinity of the bi-material interface solved by the distributed dislocation technique. The work is divided into several parts. The first part is theoretical and includes basic concepts of the fracture mechanics, the crack behaviour at the bi-material interface, the formulation of the singular integral equation by virtue of the distributed dislocation technique, the Bueckner's principle, complex potentials and consequently the determination of the stress intensity factor. The second part is the theory application to the specific configuration of the crack of the finite length with respect to the bi-material interface and in the third part, there is carried out the solution of this problem for various configurations of the bi-material solved by the distributed dislocation technique and its comparison with the results obtained from the FE analysis.

Principles and processes of making reports and their verification in the selected reporting tools
Čelikovský, Filip ; Maryška, Miloš (advisor) ; Pesek, Jan (referee)
The diploma thesis covers the principles of dashboard or report design. The first part of thesis is focused on introduction to the issue of reporting, based on current literature. There are the definitions of basic terms, position of reporting in corporate structure, history and basic division in this part. Further, this thesis is focused on information design. There are descriptions of basic visualization elements commonly used in reporting, after that the issue of using colours and finally the information about the appropriate distribution of these elements on the surface of the dashboard or report. In the practical part of the thesis, there is primarily created the methodology of comparison of reporting tools. The goal of this methodology is to compare two specific tools for obtaining information about the qualities of compared reporting tools. As a part of this methodology, there is also a list of required functions and also a few user criteria which are assessed based on the practical use of these tools during creation of specific dashboard. Complex design of this sample dashboard is also part of the methodology. Methodology was proved by its application to two compared tools, namely the SAP Crystal Reports 2011 and Tableau Desktop 8.1. Result of this comparison contained a lot of information about the tools which can be used by reader as a basis for creation his or her own opinion on the tools. Author stated his own recommendation which of the compared tools he would choose for future work in dashboard design.

Theoretical characterization of reaction center of photosystem
Vokáčová, Zuzana
Spectral properties of reaction center of photosystem II (RC PS II) and some chosen pigment molecules were studied by methods of quantum chemistry. Absorption spectra of six monomer unit of RC PS II were computed with semiempirical method and on the DFT level. Spectra of monomers obtained by the semiepirical ZINDO method are red shifted and spectra obtained by TDDFT are blue shifted from measured spectrum of chlorophyll a. The shift is a result of applied method. Next, electron transitions of chosen part of chlorophyll-pheophytin complex of RC PS II were obtained by semiempirical method. A goal was to describe differences, which follows from enlarging size of the reaction complex. A difference in the spectra correlates with various groups of pigments, which belong to active and inactive branches. Red shift of spectral lines was found only for the central dimer in comparison with electron transitions of chlorophyll a. Spectra of selected pigment molecules (chlorophylls, bacteriochlorophylls, carotenoids, phycobilins) were calculated on the DFT level and a good agreement with experimental data was achieved. An expected spectral-lines dependence on molecular structures was obtained. The relationship of some substituents, the length of unsaturated chains of chromofor and some modification of structure was searched.
