Electric and Hybrid Vehicles Analysis
Slaběňák, Patrik ; Kuchyňková, Hana (referee) ; Hájek, Vítězslav (advisor)
Nowadays, oil resources start to decrease, therefore it is necessary to think about alternative sources of energy. The result of this semester project is a basic overview of the current development of electric and hybrid cars, with potential application in normal operation and the proximity of their main characteristics, such as mileage, price and service when traveling. The energy required to operate the electric stored in batteries are recharged using the power stations, which is also devoted part of the work. The thesis focuses on the design and calculation of power consumption for a defined route of four-wheel electric wheelchair. The conclusion of the thesis deals with the future development of hybrid and electric vehicles, and with the expected trends in the field of power electronics and motors and with the propagation of hybrid vehicles to the customers.
Small one-cylinder internal combustion engines
Smolka, Josef ; Kučera, Pavel (referee) ; Píštěk, Václav (advisor)
The content of this thesis is getting to know the reader with the technical solutions in the field of small single cylinder engines and a brief overview of alternative fuels for petrol engines. The main objective is to offer a comprehensive overview of available engines and their parameters.
Rankin cycle for waste heat recovery of internal combustion engines
Kučinský, Josef ; Fiedler, Jan (referee) ; Brázdil, Marian (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with Rankine cycle as a method of waste heat recovery for internal combustion engine. Firstly, internal combustion engine and some technologies on waste heat recovery are described simply. Secondly, Rankine cycle and its utilization in automobiles are overviewed. At the end, there are summarized results from simulations and experiments regarding the issue. It was stated in a conclusion that in case of waste heat recovery in automobile, Rankine cycle is a promising technology but it is not ready for wide application yet.
Combined supercharging internal combustion engines
Melichar, Marek ; Mauder, Tomáš (referee) ; Štětina, Josef (advisor)
This bachelor’s thesis contains a basic division of various types of combined supercharging and a description of their functions. For the most common types of supercharging technologies there are listed specific examples of usage in the automotive industry. This thesis also contains a short overview of the history of supercharging and an analysis of ideal cycles supercharged internal combustion engines. One of the most important chapters of this thesis is thermal efficiency of supercharged engines and their comparison with naturally aspirated internal combustion engines.
Application of plain bearings for four-stroke internal combustion engines
Šedo, Matej ; Janoušek, Michal (referee) ; Drápal, Lubomír (advisor)
Subject of this thesis are plain bearings and especially their application for four-stroke internal combustion engines. Thesis is divided into two main parts. The first part provides a basic description of plain bearings, their distribution and evolution. It also discusses their materials and the theory of hydrodynamic lubrication. The second part covers concept of sliding bearings in internal combustion engines and their load associated with the election of right material. It also includes description of particular application of plain bearings and the method of oil distribution. It handles the mounting of crankshaft and camshaft, piston pin, connecting rod and other places where sleeve bearings are use.
Modern methods of supercharger internal combustion engines
Blaha, Adam ; Mauder, Tomáš (referee) ; Štětina, Josef (advisor)
This bachelor´s thesis is aimed at the supercharged engines with the internal combustion. Here are mentioned various types of a charging considering design and use, typical diagrams appearance and the boost control. Considering the name of this bachelor´s thesis the old types of charging or these which are not in use today for any reason are not purposely mentioned here.
Application of anti-friction bearings for four-stroke internal combustion engines
Knotek, Jiří ; Svída, David (referee) ; Drápal, Lubomír (advisor)
This thesis is concerned with the anti-friction bearings and their application in the construction of the four-stroke cycle internal combustion engine. Thesis consists of several parts. The first one is concerned with the anti-friction bearings themselves. This part provides basics of theory of the anti-friction bearings needed in the next parts. In the next part is described the use of the anti-friction bearings in the internal combustion engine. Last part is concerned with the use of the anti-friction bearings in the construction of the four-stroke cycle internal combustion engine. There is described mounting of crankshaft, connecting rod, camshaft, balancer shaft and turbocharger.
Non-traditional Motorcycle Conception
Brezanský, Vít ; Drápal, Lubomír (referee) ; Beran, Martin (advisor)
The goal of the thesis is to introduce some interesting and non-traditional conceptions of motorcycles from the present and also from previous years. In every part reasons are described that led producers of these motorcycles to design conceptions that might be perceived as almost absurd. However not every one of them was forgotten and some succeeded on the roads and race tracks, others will be perhaps successful in a few years. Every part also includes a description of the construction and function followed by the assessment of individual solutions according to their justification, realization, number of pieces sold or race results.
Hydrogen fuel for internal combustion engines
Polnický, Václav ; Novotný, Pavel (referee) ; Píštěk, Václav (advisor)
Knowledge of all ower the world research, dealing with hydrogen combustion engines, were sumarized in this bachelor thesis. Ways of hydrogen production and its storing are mentioned too. This paper is focused especially to hydrogen-air mixture formation and its ignition solving. Some samples of hydrogen cars –booth of prototypes and serial products- were introduced too.
Petrol Direct Injetion - Injection System of Future?
Smilek, Lukáš ; Svída, David (referee) ; Dundálek, Radim (advisor)
This thesis deals with petrol direct injection system in combustion engines. It introduces the key parts of injection system, describes the construction and function of each part, same as declares advantages and disadvantages in confrontation with older way of injection. This work introduces also summary of engines with the petrol direct injection system.
