Title: Conservative treatment of spinal deformities in childhood Objectives: The main aim of this work is to point out the possibility of conservative treatment of spine deformity in a comprehensive view and logical sequence. At the beginning of the theoretical parts, the anatomy and the biomechanics of the joints are adduced and briefly explained, which are necessary for understanding. Below are examples of deformity sleep and the possibility of their correction. Also, the constructional differences of the torso orthoses used for correction and stabilization of the spine, as well as their functional properties, will be mentioned. In the end, in the special parts of this work, the technological and manufacturing process for the production of fuselage orthosis will be written. Methods: To solve this problem will be drawn from specialized literature, magazines and publications, concerning in particular matters of spinal deformity and its proper position. In the chapter on the manufacturing procedure of fuselage bones, my experience will be used in practice. Results: In the conservative treatment of spinal deformities, the interdependence of the components leading to the maximization of success in the treatment of spinal deformity is very important. This is mainly the cooperation between the doctor...
Babywearing - risks and benefits from a physiotherapautic point of view
ČÁPOVÁ, Kateřina
This bachelor thesis deals with the issue of babywearing in a wrap from the physiotherapeutic point of view. The aim of the work was to find out what the risks and benefits of this phenomenon are. Another aim was to explore the views of the professionals and general public on babywearing. In the theoretical part, the general and psychological aspects of babywearing, its history, the types of wraps and tying techniques are presented. The next chapter expands on the issue from the physiotherapy perspective, especially with respect to the child's musculoskeletal system. The section also includes a chapter on a similarity between babywearing and some aspects of selected methods used in the practice of a physiotherapist. The possible risks and benefits concerning this method of baby transport are summarized in the conclusion of the theoretical part. The practical part consists of quantitative research carried out using non-standardized questionnaires. It reflects the opinions of the professionals and lay public on this issue. The first respondent group consisted of 62 physiotherapists - while in the second one, the opinions of lay public were represented by a total of 75 parents. As the results of the research show a considerable discrepancy in opinions of the two respondent groups, I believe there is a need for physiotherapists to deal more with the matter of babywearing. Thus, the work could contribute to a mutual understanding between the therapist and the parent. This thesis can be used to extend the horizons of both the professional staff (paediatricians, orthopaedists, rehabilitation physicians, physiotherapists, midwives, etc.) and the general public, particularly parents.
Effect of spine on stresses in abdominal aortic aneurysm
Lisický, Ondřej ; Horný,, Lukáš (referee) ; Polzer, Stanislav (advisor)
This thesis deals with stress strain analysis of an aortic abdominal aneurysm (AAA) and the influence of its contact with the spine on the extreme wall stress. The influence was tested on the idealized geometry, as well as on ten patient specific geometries obtained from computer tomography (CT-A) scans. Hyperelastic constitutive models were used for the AAA wall and intraluminal thrombus (ILT) tissue description. The prestress algorithm was used for reconstruction of the unloaded geometry to get more trustworthy results against the geometry from CT which was obtained under the blood pressure. Statistical analysis was used for the results evaluation. The maximal increase of peak wall stress was as high as 81 %.
Yoga and its possibilities in physiotherapy, its impact on the length of the spine
VÁVROVÁ, Eliška
The bachelor thesis deals with the importance of yoga, its possibilities in physiotherapy and its influence to a spine. Nowadays, yoga is a very popular activity that influence physical and psychological condition of people. In some case, it can help remove the pain. The thesis is divided into a theoretical and a practical part. In the first one, the anatomy of the spine and the chest is described as well as their particular articulation, muscles and functions. Then, one chapter is focused only on breathing followed by longer chapter describing yoga, its importance, history, and types and explaining main keywords: ásana (position) and pránájáma (breathing exercise). This chapter contains two smaller chapters about the influence of yoga to a spine and its benefits in physiotherapy. The method of qualitative research was used in the practical part. Three women practicing the exercises were part of the research. It lasted two months. At first of all, they needed to have a medical examination and then the principle of activities was explained to them. The women were regularly checked on week basis during the research to make the therapy more efficient. After two months, the medical examinations were made again and the results were achieved. According to the results of three women, yoga has a positive impact on the psychological behavior. The important indicator of success was the improvement of spine´s flexibility thanks to practicing yoga. Also, the perception of breathing was very convenient therapy for wrong stereotypes of breathing, but to make the exercise efficient it needs to be made regularly and correctly. The bachelor thesis could be used as an educational material for physiotherapist and for general public or for a larger knowledge transfer.

FRDLÍKOVÁ, Eva
The topic of this bachelor thesis is a yoga therapy and its impact on posture on women in productive age who suffer from vertebral algical syndrom (or VAS) The aim of this tesits was to find out in which way does yoga exercise impact a posture on women in productive age and if the yoga erxice influence back pain of women in productive age The bachelor thesis was divided into several parts. The first part is dedicated to VAS issue and terms like deep stabilization systém of the spine, breathing, posture and the spine itself. In the second part I aimed for yoga itself, where I have outlined yoga history, principlas of yoga practising, what is the meaning ang purpose of each yoga exercise, how to do the full yoga breath and what is the systém of "locks". The third part contains of a methodology and a description of the therapy and to the end also results of my research. In the end of thus thesis can be a discussion and a conclusion found. My qualitative research took 4 months in total and included 3 sfemale subjects in the age around 45. The therapy too place once a week, or once two weeks, and lasted for 60 minutes. Subjects had must done the exercise, which was done under supervision on therapy sessions, also at home every day to deepen the therapy effect. Each yoga exercise consisted of yoga breathing exercises, relaxing exercises, "greeting the sun" exercise and od classical asanas from Hatha yoga. Considering results of the practical part of my thesis I can say, that there came to total pain-relief or at least the pain decreased by each subject up. There also came to some improvements in movement coordination and to changes in posture holding in positive way up. This work might serve as a study materiál for general public, physiotherapist, yoga trainers or for those, who just too yoga lessons up.

Title: Modification of body composition in spinal cord injury subjects undergoing six months intervention. Objectives: To determine the impact of six months intervention covering nutritional adjustments and excercise program on body composition in spinal cord injury subjects. Methods: Twenty-seven spinal cord injury subjects with the lesion level T4 - T12 (10 females, 17 males) mean age 41.9 ± 10.3 years and initial BMI 27.02 ± 5.0 kg/m participated in the present study. Body composition was measured using the multi-frequency bioelectrical impedance analysis device Bodystat QuadScan 4000. Statistical analysis was carried out in the statistical program IBM SPSS statistics 22. Intervention lasting six moths constisted of 2 weeks intensive program, followed by 5 months home based program and 2 weeks of intensive program. The inicial assessment was made before the intervention and follow-up right after. Results: Although a body mass decreased (p ˂0,001), body fat percentage and FM increased (p = 0.193). Furthermore, muscle mass (MM) (p = 0.002), total body water (TBW) (p = 0.002), intracellular fluid (ICW) (p = 0.016), and extracellular fluid (ECW) (p = 0.001) decreased. Decreasof ECW / TBW (p ˂0,001) suggests reduction of edema. Conclusion: Even though generally a change of eating habits and exercise...

Žižková, Kateřina ; Černý, Pavel (advisor) ; Mikšíčková, Petra (referee)
Title: Effect application of spinal braces for final treatment effect Objectives: The aim of this work is to present basic information about spinal brace therapy to correct congenital or acquired deformities of the spine and to evaluate the experience of conservative therapy. Method: I used the method of qualitative data collection from literature, published expert articles and journals. The information was reviewed in consultation with the supervisor Ing. Pavel Černý. Result: Brace therapy is a demonstrably effective treatment method. Results depends on the degree of curvature, on correction by the brace and the amount of time wearing a corset. For the patient it is more acceptable to apply the corset in a night-time regime on smaller curves (up to about 20 degrees Cobb). The patient is then not hampered in daily activities and also prevents the progression of the curves. Keywords: application, Cobb angle, corset, spinal brace, conservative brace therapy, spine, spinal deformities , mode
