Teaching-space paradigm
Behro, Daniel ; Maršíková, Hana (referee) ; Sládeček, Svatopluk (advisor)
What should the current area of higher education be like? And what should be the space for creative work? Is the type of teaching reflected in the school building itself? I wonder if, for example, the Faculty of Social Studies would be made up only of social spaces? If the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering were to look like a hall for the production of automotive components, what would the Faculty of Legal Studies look like? And what about the Faculty of Architecture? Does the appearance and quality of the building determine the appearance of the projects created there? Does its structure affect the next generation of architects? Or should it be as clean and white as canvas before the first stroke of the brush is projected on it? I deal with both assumptions: the building as a pure paper, which gives freedom for creativity and does not limit the mind, and on the other hand, matter, structure, space, which shows what architecture can do. I prefer freedom of choice, which is why I want to describe both approaches in the proposal. Open-space free layout versus firmly defined closed studios. Artistic space, free versus technically and rationally defined space. Virtual space versus space of unchanging matter.

A Great Opportunity for Municipal Palace
Vyhlídalová, Lucie ; Keith, Petr (referee) ; Vojtová, Lea (advisor)
The architectural study deals with recovery and redevelopment of Hrušovany nad Jevišovkou castle, which is currently abandoned and derelict. Inside the castle are planned cultural, social, exhibitive and representative areas. One wing of Hrušovany’s castle will be used as a hotel. It is a greenhouse, a restaurant and a pavilion for social events. The castle and outbuildings create a courtyard suitable for open-air cultural events. One part of castle‘s complex is garden lapidarium and floral terraces. The design keeps historical and architectural value of this cultural heritage and offers its dignified use nowadays.

The Repechy Guest-House
Strnad, Miroslav ; Keith, Petr (referee) ; Vojtová, Lea (advisor) ; Kalousek, Lubor (advisor)
Bachelor’s thesis is based on a studio project created in the summer term of the third year of the undergraduate studies. The task was the renewal and the extension of the farmhouse for an accommodation facility and other services. The farmhouse is situated in a small village Repechy near the town of Prostejov and is complemented by two other unused buildings. In the second half of the 20th century, rectangular shaped farmhouse with a yard was roofed, interior walls were partially demolished and interior space was used for keeping the cattle. It had a big impact for the current condition of the object. Aggressive environment and high humidity, for which structures were not designed, significantly accelerate the degradation process. Later, the cattle was moved away and the original farmhouse is deteriorating until these days. Currently, the object and its surroundings are in a bad condition. Most of the constructions are damaged and it is not possible to use them anymore. Northern tract is the only part worth protection. There are preserved precious historical chambranles and other plastic decoration. Surroundings is overgrown with wild vegetation. The aim was to preserve and bring out valuable parts of the original object and find them appropriate use under specified conditions. The proposal deals with the removal of three sides of a rectangular farmhouse and preserving the northern tract in the form of a torso. Extension is based on the original farmhouse. Extends the original built up area boundary to use existing structure and creates the first volume, which symbolizes the traditional static form. Rotated duplicate of the first volume then characterized a modern and dynamic attitude in architecture. The final design of an extension is created by synthesis of both volumes as an evidence of the coexistence of a traditional and a modern form. Designed extension has one floor, locally basement and second floor. The extension is also characterized by the use

Simulation of an ARM Processor for the Education of Programming in Assembler
Ondryáš, Ondřej ; Goldmann, Tomáš (referee) ; Orság, Filip (advisor)
This thesis aims to implement a didactic tool for simulation of an Arm-based processor integrated into the Visual Studio Code editor. The tool facilitates learning about the machine-level programming of these processors. It implements a service that provides an assembler and a simulator for the A32 instruction set. The service is built using the Unicorn emulation framework and other open-source tools. The editor extension uses the service to add support for the development and debugging of programs written in the assembly language. It shows descriptions of used instructions and helps the programmer understand their function. When debugging, it enables stepping through the code and provides various views of the state of the simulated processor, its registers and memory. The solution can be used in the Advanced Assembly Languages course at FIT BUT. It could be further improved in the future to support other architectures and provide an easy learning environment in other courses related to machine-level programming.
The Restoration of the Former Zlín County Court
Prosseková, Jarmila ; Keith, Petr (referee) ; Vojtová, Lea (advisor) ; Kalousek, Lubor (advisor)
The bachelor’s thesis deals with the renovation of former Zlín county court in the city centre of Zlín. The object is in the city heritage zone near Zlín castle. The original building from the 16th century initially served as a city brewery, and from the year 1922, the building was used as a country court. In the 20th century, three extensions were added, and since the year 1998 this building has had no usage and has been in decay, which could be seen on its bad structural-technical condition. Therefore, the renovation and return to the former function – that of a brewery, has been designed in this bachelor’s thesis. This function is supplemented by more services, such as the sales area, a beer-themed shop, a beer-themed spa, and accommodation. For constructive-technical and architectonical reasons, the removal of extensions from the 20th century, and renovation of the original building with elements of constructive-historical significance– the façade, and barrel and grion vaults in the ground floor, have been designed. For reasons concerning capacity, a new extension was designed with functional rooms facing towards the Zlín castle. The extension is, in its layout, connected to the original object appropriately on both technical and architectural level, with emphasis on accessibility of every function used by the public. Architecturally, the building has been adjusted by the height and proportions of the original structure, the rhythm of window openings maintains the impression of the original building. Within the extension, there will also be an inbuilt underground parking lot. The bachelor’s thesis expands an architectural study designed in the 3rd year into the form of documentation for building permit. Assigned parts have been designed in detail. Last part deals with an architectural detail of the timber-suspended ceiling with integrated lights, which substitutes for the missing vaults.
