Critical response to Ladislav Grosman's The Shop on Main Street and its film adaptation

The bachelor thesis focuses on the Ladislav Grosman's novel Obchod na korze (The Shop on Main Street) and its film adaptation by Ján Kadár and Elmar Klos. Given the topic, the theoretical part focuses on the historical events of the establishment of the Slovak state and the repression of the Jewish population. The thesis then interferes with the context of Czechoslovakian war literature and cinematography in the 1960s and introduces the author of the novel Ladislav Grossman and a creative couple of directors Ján Kadár and Elmar Klos. The empirical part of the thesis analyzes the critical response to the novel and the film adaptation in the periodical press in the context of Czechoslovakian culture. The empirical part also includes selected critical reactions in the period after the Velvet revolution in 1989. The critical texts and reviews were chosen from the printed culturally oriented periodicals and attachments of the daily press between 1965-1970 and subsequently after 1989.
Methods of building price determination

This thesis defines the methods of building price determination. In my work I tried to explain the concepts related to budgeting and valuation, to describe and use methods for determining specific prices for my chosen family house in the town Bílina. The first part is used to get acquainted with the terminology related to the creation of the budget and the use of valuation methods in construction. I also tried to describe the principles and rules of budgeting and specific valuation methods, which I used on my chosen family house. The second part contains a practical solution to the problem. First, I create a budget in the budget program BUILDpowerS and then, here I use valuation methods and create prices for a family house. Finally, I compared the prices, which were created using valuation methods and the created budget, evaluated and its subsequent use.
Analysis of Product Reviews

Online store customers generate vast amounts of product and service information through reviews, which are an important source of feedback. This thesis deals with the creation of a system for the analysis of product and shop reviews in the czech language. It describes the current methods of sentiment analysis and builds on current solutions. The resulting system implements automatic data download and their indexing, subsequently sentiment analysis together with text summary in the form of clustering of similar sentences based on vector representation of the text. A graphical user interface in the form of a web page is also included. A review data set with a total of more than six million reviews was created during the semester along with an interface for easy data export.

The bachelor thesis Online movie reviews of a biographic Bohemian Rhapsody and users comments in Česko-Slovenská filmová databáze compares and analyzes domestic and foreign selected movie internet reviews and user comments on Česko-Slovenská filmová databáze and foreign databases. The first part of the thesis deals with the theoretical definition of the genre of review, criticism and commentary, the biographical film is defined and the dramatic structure of the film work is described. Following is the characteristics of the media that will be monitored in the thesis. The thesis describes Czech and foreign websites from which the reviews were drawn and also describes the essence of Czech and foreign film databases. The second part is dedicated to the Queen, its beginnings and successes and the life of the frontman of the band Freddie Mercury is analyzed. The thesis further analyzes the film Bohemian Rhapsody, compares reality with the depiction in the film and deals with the complications that arose during the shooting. The final part is focused on the analysis and comparison of internet film reviews, which were published by various Czech and foreign websites, and user comments on the Česko- Slovenská filmová databáze and foreign databases. The thesis, called Czech films based on well-known criminal cases: from reality, newspaper news to feature film and film reviews. Murder in Polná - Case of Leopold Hilsner, deals with a criminal case which took place at the break of the 19th and the beginning of the 20th century. A young girl, Anežka Hrůzová, was murdered in the Březina woods outside the town of Polná. At a time when anti-Semitic sentiments dominated the society, a Polná resident and a Jew, Leopold Hilsner, was accused as the perpetrator of the crime. He was later convicted of this crime, and another one of a similar nature, even though there was no relevant evidence or testimonies. The period news outlets played a significant role in spreading the anti-Semitic tendencies. This thesis describes the course of this real-life case and focuses on the methods the media used to inform about it. Director Viktor Polesný made a film on the issue, Zločin v Polné (Murder in Polná), which is analysed in the thesis, along with the reviews written about this film, including the reception by viewers. Reception of Magnesia Litera in media between 2016 and 2019 and of various winning books

This bachelor theses addresses analysis of literary critical response of four titles which were awarded in one of the categories of the competition Magnesia Litera between 2016 and 2019. The thesis aims to present the profile of the competition Magnesia Litera and subsequently to define the term literary criticism, to describe its development and principles. Furthermore, it addresses four specific winning titles which include two awarded for Prose: Do tmy (2015) by Anna Bolavá and Teorie podivnosti (2018) by Pavla Horáková, one awarded for Journalism: Brnox. Průvodce brněnským Bronxem. Akce Kateřiny Šedé (2016) by Kateřina Šedá and one for Children's and Youth Literature: Transport za věčnost (2017) by František Tichý. Each book is then subject of my own interpretation. The thesis then analyses critical reflection of each book within Czech media environment before and after being awarded in Magnesia Litera competition, regards the quantity of response and compares its content; in both cases it also points out whether the literary critical evaluation had been influenced by the award itself.

This bachelor thesis is dedicated to Jiří Orten Prize and the awarded poetry collections Výjevy by Ondřej Hanuse and Co s tím by Alžběta Stančáková. The subject of interest is their critical resonance in the Czech media in 2013 a 2014. The theoretical part presents the profile of Jiří Orten Prize, defines the concepts of literary criticism and review and interprets the selected poetry collections in the context of contemporary Czech poetry. The second part maps and then analyzes critical response of the collections in the Czech media in 2013 and 2014. The reviews and critics are from cultural journals, servers and radio station shows. The bachelor thesis also includes the interview with Ondřej Hanus focused on Jiří Orten Prize, contemporary Czech poetry and literary critisicm.

Title: Anticipation sources and interaction during the serve return Objectives: The objectives of this diploma thesis are to explore what kinds of anticipatory resources elite tennis players perceive and which ones they take in consideration when returning the service. Methods: The qualitative type of research was used in this diploma thesis, specifically a case study. Professional tennis players were chosen and their ATP emplacement is from 26th to 163th in the world. Five of the chosen tennis players only train now, two of them train and also play and the other two only play. Their age varies from 25 to 43 years old. A method of review with instruction was used, the review had seven questions and lasted approximately 30-60 minutes during which the players thought in detail of key factors that they use for anticipation the service. The second phase of the research was a transcription of the review, its coding and analysis. Results: In this diploma thesis there is a description of individual themes that point out to other anticipatory resources which tennis players examine during their matches. Analysis of Municipal Solid Waste Composition

This diploma thesis provides extensive research of municipal solid waste studies and methodologies from all over the world. Firstly, the studies are described in general and then divided into several groups depending on the principle of their working practices, including their advantages and disadvantages. Secondly, the studies are divided by geographic areas. The results of the individual studies are presented and compared. Based on the findings in the thesis, appropriate methodology for municipal solid waste analysis in the Czech Republic is proposed.

In my thesis Killed them all, of course: representation of the Robert Durst Case in documentary, movie and media I aimed to create a case study that follows the case of Robert Durst and its representation mainly in documentary series and lifemovie directed by Andrew Jarecki. It compares individual takes on the case and furthermore analyses the critics of decisions made by documentary makers based on the principles of documentary ethics. It focuses on moral dilemma that can documentary maker encounter. The thesis follows the investigation of the murders of Susan Berman, Morris Black, Durst's neighbor, and the disappearance of Kathleen Durst, whose body has never been found. Thesis also ponders over how effectively represent the truth in a documentary and what are the faults of Andrew Jarecki regarding his work both in documentary and in movie.
