Fabrication of metal nanoclusters and their characterization
Kratochvíl, Jiří ; Kylián, Ondřej (advisor) ; Kousal, Jaroslav (referee)
Copper nanoclusters have potencial for fabrication of nanostructured surfaces, which can be used in electronics, electrotechnics, optics and in biomedical applications. To create such surfaces, it is necessary to create and characterize the nanoclusters deeply first and this is the main topic of this work. First, we found repeatable procedure to create copper nanoclusters by the gas aggregation nanocluster source. We studied homogenity of prepared surfaces by quartz crystal microbalance and optical ellipsometry, we determined conditions for deposition of homogeneous coatings. Next, we studied deposition rate in dependence on the magnetron current, pressure in the aggregation and deposition chambers. Deposition rate linearly increased with current, but in low currents it was nearly zero. Furthermore, we found maximum deposition rate for a given pressure in the aggregation chamber and determined the range of pressure in deposition chamber where it is possible to deposit thin films of copper nanoclusters. This is important for fabrication of nanocomposite surfaces. We studied also the size, shape of nanoclusters and growth of surface by scanning electron microscope. The surfaces were very porous. We measured roughness and optical absorbance where anomalous optical absorption was found. Finally, we found that...
"Ab initio" study of Cu-Ce-O interface
Szabová, Lucie ; Matolín, Vladimír (advisor) ; Chvoj, Zdeněk (referee)
"Ab initio" study of interface Cu-Ce-O Abstract: The present work is a theoretical analysis based on the numerical DFT+U simulations investigating the structural and electronic properties of Cu/CeO2 model systems, which have important applications as heterogeneous catalysts for environment protection and energy sources. We provide a detailed insight into the cohesion of the interface between metal Cu nanoparticles supported on CeO2 substrates. This issue is analyzed both in context of small supported Cu clusters as well as for the extended interface underneath Cu nanoparticles on ceria surfaces. These cases were modelled with a Cu(111)/CeO2(111) interface and with a Cu adatom adsorbed at the oxidized and reduced CeO2(111) surface, respectively. The thesis provides a direct correlation between the cohesive and electronic properties mediated by the charge transfer process. The reduction of surface cerium atoms in the presence of copper either in form of adatom, thin copper layer or a slab of copper is predicted to result from charge transferred from the metal. Since cerium reduction is suggested to play an important role into the catalytic activity of ceria-based catalysts, by predicting the reduction of cerium ions in the presence of copper it can be expected that Cu/CeO2 systems will have important...
The Reconstruction of Zlín Chateau
Bujačková, Mariana ; Schnapková, Radka (referee) ; Vojtová, Lea (advisor) ; Kalousek, Lubor (advisor)
The base of Bachelor Thesis is the architectural study wich was done in summer semester of the third year of the bachelor´s studies. The topic of this study was rocontruction and new use of chateau in town of Zlín. Until recently, the build was just restaurant and Museum of Southeastern Moravia. Now the Zlín chateau offers new restaurant with own small kitchen, cafe, wine cellar, learning centre for people of all ages, offices for beginning and small businessman, there is also small library with playroom for children and especially gallery in attic space with observation towers. Reconstruction does not alter the historic character of the chateau, therefore I want to use here just mild colours and simple materials like glass, concrete, metal and wood. From the new constructions we have got here the most outstanding ones, like four corner observation towers, new elevator in concrete tube and glass roof above courtyard.
Rendering Performance Comparison in iOS and Metal
Pištělák, Radek ; Milet, Tomáš (referee) ; Tóth, Michal (advisor)
The goal of this thesis is the comparison of the OpenGL ES and Metal graphical libraries on the iOS platform. To compare the performance of the two libraries, a particle system has been implemented. By profiling it has been determined that using instanced rendering it is currently possible to achieve higher performance using OpenGL ES. Based on the results and the theoretical part of the thesis it is possible to make a more informed decision between the two graphical libraries.
Hardness testing of metallic materials
Dufková, Hana ; Věchet, Stanislav (referee) ; Němec, Karel (advisor)
The aim of this thesis is to define and describe the hardness of material, possibilities of its testing, including the history and development of individual tests of hardness. The practical part of this work consists of the application of some of these tests on selected samples, including the evaluation of the results.
Design of Handheld Metal Detector
Partl, Zdeněk ; Křenek, Ladislav (referee) ; Fridrichová, Eva (advisor)
The goal of this bachelor's thesis is the design of a hand held metal detector. This work includes an analysis of the present situation of the market and the technological progress in this field. The main goal is to create an original design which will respect ergonomic, aesthetic and technical requirements of the product.
Search for harmony in artistic expression
BOUDOVÁ, Julie
The aim of this paper is cognition of eastern art feng-shui, selecting specific part and its subsequent putting into practise at Elementary Art School. It deals with "Theory of the five elements", which includes fire, earth, metal, water and wood. The theoretical part describes the theory of feng-shui and short history of eastern art, foundations of art education and different kinds of art creation, mainly spatial and action creation. The practise part is a note of teaching at Elementary Art School and presentation this topic into the school practise.

Sports and cultural centre, Otradov
Myška, Jan ; Nováková, Eva (referee) ; Kolář, Radim (advisor)
The subject of this diploma thesis is the preparation of project documentation for the implementation of new sports and cultural centre Otradov. The dominant feature of the complex objects stands and multipurpose hall. The building is architecturally designed with an effort to fit in too much of rural architecture. Multipurpose hall has two floors, one third roofed flat roof, two-thirds of the roof ridge. The core system is aerated concrete blocks. The building is two-storey grandstand with the carrier deck. Roofing is solved by means of broken wooden beams. Sanitary facilities is dealt wall system and roofed shed roof. Athletics track, the surface of the polyurethane mixture designed for sports.
