Communication Strategies of the European Parliament in Brussels on the Example of the Role-play Game in Parlamentarium
Vlčková, Jana ; Matějka, Ondřej (advisor) ; Kasáková, Zuzana (referee)
Communication of the European Parliament with the public takes place within various means and on different levels. This thesis offers an analysis of the European Parliament's communication strategy through the role-play game in the Brussels Parlamentarium. A role- play game simulating the legislative procedure of the European Union is available in all the EU official languages and it is targeted primarily at the youth between 15 and 18 years. The analysis is based on the political communication and political marketing theory, as well as on the concept of the role-play game as an educational tool. The methodological background of the analysis is embedded in the ethnographic research and its constituent methods, especially a participant observation and questionnaires survey, further completed by qualitative analysis of the visual and textual materials of the game. First, the advertising tools of the RPG are presented. Second, the course of the game is described and its transcript analysed. Third, the ways of reception of the activity by the participants are illustrated. The goal of the thesis is to show whether the role- play game is a successful communication tool of the European Parliament with the youth.
Contemplative Child
Špán, Adam ; Spalová, Barbora (advisor) ; Kotyk, Lukáš (referee)
1 Annotation This thesis addresses the vocation of a Trappist monk which I first encountered during an ethnographic stay in a monastery and later explored further through semi- structured interviews with the monk and his family. The entire thesis is inter-connected by a chronological narrative covering the course of my research which will guide the reader throughout the field notes and interviews in their proper order. Research alone follows the vocation of only one monk but examines it and its formation from the perspective of six family members. The analysis of the interviews made clear that the vocation of a Trappist monk formed linearly with continuous Christian guidance. This guidance had origins in his religious family and was further consolidated by Christian elementary and high school structures. His family was very supportive of his decision to lean into religious life, and while a tendency to asceticism or solitude was refuted in the interviews, it transpired that a strong positive relationship with nature was observable, in-keeping with secluded monastery life in an isolated woodland environment. This case study of a monastic vocation aims to contribute towards the investigation of religious experience and circumstance by combining ethnography and in-depth interviews. The objective is not a...
SLOVAKIAN PROBE. Negotiation of local identity of alternative bands in Moravian Slovácko.
Svobodová, Veronika ; Jurková, Zuzana (advisor) ; Seidlová, Veronika (referee)
The goal of this musical anthropology qualitative research, mainly based on the field work, is to describe, analyze and interpret the process of construction of local identity of an alternative bands in Moravian Slovácko. The subject of this research are mainly two music bands from Slovácko - PSCrew and 12:PIET. PSCrew band represents hip-hop style and 12:PIET ranks among punk style bands. The musical production of these bands is defined (using an emic term) as an alternative folklore. With a use of theoretical concepts of stereotype and partially also retro and revival, I tried to demonstrate how these alternative musicians with an emphasis to their authenticity by the means of their musical spheres (so called soundscapes) pursue their notion of what is considered to be related to Slovácko and how the negotiation of their local identity is involved. For that the locally defined stereotypes are often used. These are typically recontextualized by its adaptation into the form that reflects the postmodern period.

KNĚŽÍNEK, Petr
This thesis deals with the psychosocial climate of the school environment, especially the possibilities of its exploration. The first part follows the research report from the conducted research on the psychosocial climate of the elementary school in Nová Bystřice. The conclusion of the thesis concerns the recommendations for the school based on the identified characteristics. Completed school climate surveys mainly use qualitative data collection methods. This thesis uses qualitative methods and tries to show that such research methods are suitable for schools climate research.

Malíková, Gabriela ; Grygar, Jakub (advisor) ; Kotík, Michal (referee)
This paper is concern on defining the term "habitus" within crossfit. Crossfit is new sport phenomena which is differently accepted in sport society. It can be supposed that due to its specifics crossfit is attracive for specific group of people and crossfit can be considered as a part of style aferwards. The theoretic part is based on assumptions of Marcel Mauss, who defined habitus as aspects of culture which are embodied to body throw daily practiques and resulted in acquired abilities, Pierre Bourdieu, who connected habitus with terms as capital, social field and style, and Loic Wacquant, who added the dimenstion of bodily capital, which concrete form can be seen as projection of culture values. By way of enthnography, and followng interviews these research questions are supposed to be answered: How does crossfit habitus look like? How is reproduced? Which life style can be associated with crossfit? How can be crossfiters characterized in social space?
