The political system of the Federal Republic of Germany - The Bundestag

The subject of this Bachelor thesis is to describe the political system of the Federal Republic of Germany with a focus on the Bundestag. The author summarizes in the theoretical part the political system and the separation of powers in the Federal Republic of Germany and then focuses she on the German Bundestag, its organization, functions and electoral system. In the practical part, the author will deal with a comparison of the electoral system in the German Bundestag and the electoral system to the Chamber of Deputies of the Parliament of the Czech Republic. In connection with holding of regular elections to the German Bundestag and early elections to the Chamber of Deputies in the fall 2013, the election results will be compared. The legislative process in the Federal Republic of Germany and in the Czech Republic will be compared, the data about the number of bills and on their progress in both countries in the last electoral term will be evaluated.

In the February survey CVVM focused on views of Czech citizens in the political system in the Czech Republic and to what extent can our political system be considered democratic. We asked respondents to assess the political system in our country before 1989, the political system after 1989 (in  the 1990s), the current political system and their views on what political system will be in our country in 10 years.
Limitation of Reelection Options in Latin America: the Case of Mexico

The work focuses on limitation of public officials' reelection eligibility in Mexican political system. The question of reelection is put into the context of both Latin American region and history of Mexico itself and of its constitution. It offers an overview of specific constitutional clauses that define the reelection rules, historical background and motivation of their genesis and also analyses their practical implementation and consequences. The topic is examined primarily with regard to the influence of reelection limitation on previous and future democratic development of the country.

Citizens on the Political System in the Czech Republic - February 2013

n its February survey, CVVM focused on opinions towards the political system in the Czech Republic. Questions in the survey concerned the level of satisfaction with democracy, the evaluation of democracy as a form of government, coequality and fairness in treating people and the evaluation of the political system development since 1989. About three fifths of Czechs (63 %) are not satisfied with the functioning of democracy in their country. Similar number of Czechs (63 %) holds the view that people are not treated coequally and fairly in the Czech Republic.

The bachelor thesis deals with the polical system of the Swiss Confederation. The work is divided into 9 parts. The aim of the bachelor thesis is a description and analysis of the political system of Switzerland with a focus on individual issues (federalism, multiculturalism, neutrality, protection of minority rights and the implementation of direct democracy). The work describes the separation of powers within the state with all Swiss specifics, including the "Zauberformel" rule. The work also presents the party and electoral system of the country; the position of Switzerland on the issue of European integration as well as the membership of Switzerland in international organizations.

The work defines the form of State establishment, the historical and political developments. Ethical codes in parliaments in presidential, semi-presidential and parliamentary system - case of USA, France and Great Britain

Regulation of ethical regimes in parliaments seems to be a current issue in many (not only) western democratic countries. This thesis discusses comparison of ethical codes in parliaments of Great Britain, France and United States of America. Chosen countries have been selected regarding the fact that each country has different political system: parliamentarism in UK, semi-presidencialism in France and presidencialism in USA. The main aim of this work is to find out whether the difference of political systems could affect the scope and content of ethical codes. In order to achieve this task, the author uses the method of analysis and subsequent comparison of individual ethical codes. The thesis is structured into four parts. First part deals partly with theories of representation and mandate and also with particular political systems in selected countries. In second part the author describes codes of ethics in general and also benefits for citizens and legislators connected with adoption of ethical code. Third part analyzes codes of ethics adopted by particular chambers of selected parliaments. Respective comparison of ethical codes and regulations of ethic regimes is contained in the final part.
Direct Election of the President in Czech Republic

Next year, the citizens of the Czech Republic will choose a new president in direct election. The subject of this thesis is to analyze and evaluate all submitted proposals for changes to the presidential election and attitudes of stakeholders (parties, experts, voters). It tries to answer the question whether the introduction of direct elections may change the political system. Apart of this the bachelor thesis also focuses on political system and its classification and the position of president in the executive.
