Bachelor´s thesis is called "Social work with elderly in residential facilities" is aimed to group work with elderly as a one method of social work. I try map benefits and negatives, which lies in group work with elderly in residential facilities, by means this bachelor´s thesis. There are different views on status of elderly in today society. One view states, that young generation seen elderly person like somebody unnecessary, useless, who burdens society and it often leads to placement elderly to residential facilities, where they almost spend rest of their life. The second view states, that exist families, who care about their elderly till the last moment. They often use services of day care and try to take care about their elderly of all forces and they place him/her into the residential facilities in extreme case, when they have not another choice. It is understandable that the best home for seniors with offer of services and supportive care can not compensate real home, love and care of relationships. There are offered series of activities which help to elderly people to spend their meaningful leisure time., but not everybody have strength or interest in participation. There is important motivation of social workers in the facilities which offered these activities. There are often used group activities in residential facilities, which I maped in bachelor´s thesis and introduce practice knowledge at work with elderly. Bachelor´s thesis consists of three chapters. The first chapter is aimed to knowledge of aging and old age. There are described changes, which can set influence of aging in elderly´s life and how are the reactions on them. I mention here statue of society to elderly people, how young generation perceives elderly. The second chapter is aimed to social work. I mention here borders of social work, historical consequences in realationship to social work, methods of social work, and I deal with law number 108/2006 Collection. about social work. The third chapter deals with group work obviously, requirement of social worker and concrete form of group work with elderly. I mention problem´s aspects in this part, which can occur in group work with elderly and I based on my own knowledge. In the fourth chapter are found case reports in story form, where is given group work with clients. I found due to bachelor´s thesis more informations about aging and old age and their influence on life of eldery people, about social work, I maped group activities, which are offered in series residential facilities and so on. Clients´life at a ward with social beds in hospital Nemocnice Jindřichův Hradec a.s. and in the Nursing Care Home in Jindřichův Hradec
BERÁNKOVÁ, Jana
Old age is the last stage of human life; the main task of old age is to reach integrity in terms of one´s own life. The ideal of active aging is understood as the time when it is possible to pursue one´s youth activities such as sport or hobbies; paradoxically, old age is considered as valuable only if old people are able to fulfil the cultural ideal of youth. In my thesis, I focus on comparing the clients´ life at a ward with social beds in hospital Nemocnice Jindřichův Hradec a.s. and in the Nursing Care Home in Jindřichův Hradec. I tried to find out the respondents´ aims in life, how the respondents use their leisure time and whether they use of the opportunities offered by the facility. I also tried to find out how much the respondents had to change their lifestyles in the current social facilities and whether they are satisfied because not to fulfil their aims in life could lead to social isolation and a lack of self-fulfilment. In my research, I respect the individuality of each person and their attitude to life. To understand an individual it is necessary to access their life in a holistic way, from birth to the present, and to take into account the course of their life in its entirety. It is also confirmed by the research part of my thesis, when the respondents still had their aims in live, in which they were still trying to find joy in their lives, despite their old age, they did not close the door to the world, but rather they were still interested in not only their relatives but they also liked to use the services offered by the facility in the use of their leisure time. I used qualitative research to compare of life of clients in each of the facilities. In my research I used the method of observing the o respondents in each of the facilities; I also used semi-controlled interviews and a personal data analysis. I consider this topic as very relevant because the issue of old age has recently been a serious social problem due to the fact that in terms of demography the population has been getting older due to the lengthening of life expectancy and concurrent fall in natality. The current all-society programs do not emphasize prolonging life but they promote the quality of life in old age, independence, participation, self-fulfilment and dignity.

Social Rehabilitation in the Nursing Home called Máj in České Budějovice,p.o.
HANČLOVÁ, Svatava
A social rehabilitation in the Seniors´ Home Máj in České Budějovice A social rehabilitation is a complex of activities encouraging an independence, self-sufficiency and social integration of clients of the Seniors´ Home. An aim of the thesis is to evaluate a progress of the social rehabilitation in the Seniors´ Home Máj in České Budějovice. A qualitative research was carried out to achieve objectives of the thesis. Five clients were chosen in order to determine a subjective evaluation of the social rehabilitation. Semi-standardized interviews were conducted with them. An observation method was applied at their engaging in activities in the Seniors´ Home as well as at seniors outside this facility, and a method of document analysis. Obtained information has been contained in case studies and they were analysed by using a grounded theory. Semi-standardized interviews were also conducted to find out attitudes of the professional staff and managers to the social rehabilitation. Factors affecting clients´ social functioning were also monitored in a course of the observation. Information from the interviews with the staff and the observation were again analysed through a method of the grounded theory. The thesis confirms findings of similarly oriented researches. It shows that the course of the social rehabilitation is influenced by institutional, personal and economic influences. The effect of applied methods and techniques of the social rehabilitation depends on an approach of the staff as well as clients and a quality of the clients´ social relations. The research has proven that an integration of clients in the facility as well as outside is supported by a wide offer of leisure time activities. Even if the clients in the Seniors´ Home have enough opportunities for mutual meetings, they are not usually successful in establishing a fully-fledged friendship and they often feel lonely. Although there is encouraged self-sufficiency per clients´ individual needs in the Seniors´ Home Máj, therapeutic activities are conducted and clients participate in physical activities, their level of self-sufficiency reduces. Results of the diploma thesis are stimulating for the staff of the Seniors´ Home Máj as well as for other social service founders and providers.
