EU-US Trade Relations

The bachelor thesis "EU-US Trade Relations" aims to analyse the bilateral trade of these states, evaluate its development from the beginning of the 21st century until today and to compare the situation before and after the historic recession. In the first chapter, the author focuses on their integration into the world trading environment and on their trade policy. In the second part, she analyses the bilateral trade -- she comments on the legal basis of their relations and the development of their balance of trade. Furthermore, she describes their bilateral trade in capital, goods and services and finally she tries to estimate the future development of the bilateral relations. The last chapter deals with their trade relations with other countries which play an essential role in the international trade, namely China and Russia.
Gas Dispute in 2009 between Russia and Ukraine in the Context of the External Energy Security of the EU

This bachelor thesis deals with the recent gas dispute between Russia and Ukraine, which took place in 2009, and its consequences to the external energy security of the EU. The first part applies itself to the fundamental sakes of long-lasting problems between Russia and Ukraine in the gas field and their evaluation. In the second part, the actual dispute of 2009 is being examined, whereas the attention is paid foremost to the possible causes of the dispute. The last part concerns itself with the review of gathered facts in the context of the current energy policy of the EU, the EU-Russia relationship is being examined and the dependability of Russia is being questioned. There is also a devoted space to discuss the most frequently mentioned diversification options of transit routes in the context of russian interests.
Russia: Economic development and foreign relations

The aim of this research is to critically analyse development of the Russian economy during the years 2000 - 2008 then examine the impact of the world economic crisis on the economy of Russia and mutual relations of Russia with the strategic foreign partners. The first part of this paper commences by undertaking a critical analysis of the economic progress during the government of V. Putin and a period before his apppointment to the presidency of Russia according to the evaluation of the macroeconomics indexes. The second passage is focused on the growth of the Russian economy during the world economic crisis up to current situation. The final part draws attention to the attitude of Russia to the important foreign partners such as EU and USA. It also identifies principal players in the Caspian region and analyses their task and goals in this area.
Trade relations between EU and group of MERCOSUR

The thesis is focused on trade relations between EU and states of MERCOSUR. The development and general characteristics of both blocs are described in the first section. The second part focuses on historical and actual evolution of the trade relations, on the agreements concluded between EU and MERCOSUR and also on the current Association agreement negotiation. The last part analyses trade of EU and the Czech republic with the states of MERCOSUR.
The analysis of the Slovak currency evolution from its origin up to the adoption of the euro

The bachelor thesis describes the evolution of the modern Slovak crown since its inception in 1993 to the adoption of the euro in 2009. It includes the evolution of the currency rate during the transformation process and ends with the crown as a part of the ERM II exchange rate mechanism. After that it focuses on the issue of fulfilling the convergence criteria and the necessary preparation that preceded the euro. At the end, the attention is paid to a few basic effects of the currency replacement that can be observated so far.
The Role of Neutrality in the EU

Neutrality is a political concept that can be observed in practice for several centuries. However, this concept is not an immutable but rather a variable one. The change of its form can also be seen in the evolvement of Swedish security policy. Sweden has long been seen as neutral state, but its security policy underwent a gradual transition within the years. Therefore, this thesis offers an analysis of transition of Swedish security policy since its beginning until nowadays and provides a closer focus on the mutual relationship of Swedish policy of neutrality and CSDP within the EU.
Comparison of vompetences of Supreme Audit Institutions in EU Countries

Submitted bachelor thesis is engaged in comparison of Czech Supreme Audit Office and supreme audit institutions of nine other EU countries. Criteria of comparison are principles of INTOSAI declarations, which are treated as necessary for SAI's to implement, in order to make proper public sector auditing. The comparison according to these criteria, which are defined at the beginning of each chapter, forms the main part of the thesis. Final part of the thesis answers the question, if Czech Supreme Audit Institution has sufficient competences compared with SAI's of other countries.
The Problems and Perspectives of Turkish Economy in the 21st Century

The fundamental objective of this bachelor thesis is the complex analysis of problems and perspectives of Turkish economy in the 21st century. Its first part is devoted to the characteristics of economic, social, demographic and politic environment within the Turkish republic. The basic and necessary overview of relevant historical background, which determined significantly the status quo, is also added. The second part of the paper deals with the analyses of important and relevant problems within Turkey and also sketches some possible solutions. On the contrary, the third part focuses on any perspectives which can be traced in individual parts of the Turkish economy and states particular scenarios of future development. To every major problem there is also attached the opinion of the author, in separated part of text. The conclusion finally sums up all the pieces of knowledge obtained and also evaluates the fulfilling of partial objectives. The appendices illustrate and amplify properly chosen aspects of the work.
EU Common Agricultural Policy with a focus on France

This thesis deals with the EU Common Agricultural Policy, with particular focus on France. The main objective is to analyze the current development of the EU CAP and to assess the impact of the introduction of the CAP reforms on French agriculture. The first chapter briefly summarizes the historical development of the CAP since its inception until the early 90s. The second chapter lists the major reforms that have taken place since the early 90s until now, along with the main meaning. The third chapter is devoted to the characteristics of French agriculture, evaluates its development and impact of CAP on his current state. The French model of the CAP reform is described in the fourth chapter, which also mentions the rural development policy in France. The final chapter outlines possible future developments of the CAP, which takes into account the current problems of world agriculture and the interests of France.
Comparison of agriculture in the EU and USA

The bachelor thesis compares agriculture of the United States and the European Union. In the first chapter the proposal is to compare main characteristics of agriculture in the U.S. and the EU and to aim at positive and negative domains of agriculture in both countries. In chapter two I describe socioeconomical characteristic of agriculture in the U.S. and the EU. The third chapter is devoted to agricultural trade of both countries. Moreover present situation of agriculture in context of the recent global financial crisis is analysed. The final chapter includes perspectives and the development of agricultural trade of the U.S. and the EU in the future.
