Selected aspects of the advancement of the goals and requirements of the convention on the prohibition of chemical weapons
Chára, Jan ; Ondřej, Jan (advisor) ; Bílková, Veronika (referee)
SELECTED ASPECTS OF THE ADVANCEMENT OF THE GOALS AND REQUIREMENTS OF THE CONVENTION ON THE PROHIBITION OF CHEMICAL WEAPONS Convention on the Prohibition of the Development, Production, Stockpiling and Use of Chemical Weapons and on Their Destruction ("Convention") is a means of comprehensive ban of chemical weapons covering the whole category of these weapons of mass destruction. There are many factors having impact on effective enforcement of the goals and requirements of the Convention, namely its implementation in States Parties (particularly legislative), international cooperation and assistance, overcoming political stumbling blocks related to implementing the Convention in practice and other, often unpredictable factors resulting from law enforcement in international context. The aim of this thesis is, apart from a brief introduction into the history of the ban on chemical weapons, related activities within the context of international law and the existing status of the ban, to point out some problematic issues in this field which have the potential of hampering the goal of the Convention (due to the limited extent hereof without striving for complete coverage of the topic). The introductory chapter provides a basic overview of the history of international cooperation related to the ban on...

The interindividual variability in examination by Balance Master
Oršulíková, Radka ; Čakrt, Ondřej (referee) ; Kobesová, Alena (advisor)
This thesis "The interindividual variability in the investigation by Balance Master® System" resolves the problem of postural stability in the context of age and incidence of external factors as day-time, physical activity or stress in tested individuals. The aim of the work was to summarize knowledge about the postural stability, mechanisms of processing, holding and testing postural stability. The target of the research was to verify if there are any differences in quality of postural stability between the group of healthy young individuals and the group of healthy elderly by Balance Master® measurements, and if the quality of postural stability is affected by the day-time, fatigue and stress. It was investigated 6 tests: Weight Bearing/Squat (WBS), Modified Clinical Test of Sensory Interaction on Balance (mCTSIB), Limits of Stability (LOS), Rhytmic Weight Shift (RWS), Step Up/Over (SUO) a Forward Lunge (FL). The personality of chronic disease pupil and possibilities of his/her development in cognitive and metacognitive area
Lukschová, Kateřina ; Chrdlová, Michaela (referee) ; Krykorková, Hana (advisor)
This graduate thesis deals with a pupil with chronic disease and how his/ her disease is reflected in the sphere of knowing, reflections and learning. In the first part, we limit the concept of chronic disease and outline classification of chronic diseases and their features. We also deal with the influence of the disease on a child's psyche and the special characteristics combined with a pupil's chronic disease in the school environment and, subsequently, we pay attention to problems of the personality of a pupil with chronic disease in the context of knowing and learning. In the empirical part, we try to find typical elements in the field of these pupils' learning styles.

The principles doctrine by Philolaus of Croton and pythagoreanism in 5. cent. B.C.
Šíma, Antonín ; Špinka, Štěpán (referee) ; Karfík, Filip (advisor)
This work devotes itself to the principles doctrine by Philolaus of Croton and to the doctrine by Pythagoreans who are mentioned in Aristotle's treatises. The object of this work is to examine the principles doctrine by Philolaus of Croton and to point out what kind of principles he described and the status they had in the context of cosmological doctrines of other presocratic philosophers. The objective of this research refferies to Pythagorean principles doctrine. The fragments Philolaus of Croton constitute essential opposites to limiters and unlimiteds principles, these opposites constitute order of nature. The element of their unification is a principle of the cosmic harmony. Numbers in this principles doctrine represent particular part of cosmological investigation with their help the knowledge determinates things in the world and the cosmos as whole. The distinction of partial points of Pythagorean principles doctrine in Aristotle's reports establishes a number as an essential cosmological principle. His relationship to the principle of number to the whole cosmos and to everything in it is determined by the help of Pythagorean number combinatory, which is established on the basis of likeness between qualities of phenomenal things and a number figures. With pair elements of numbers even and odd by...

Industrial property protection and international law
Hradečný, Michael ; Dobřichovský, Tomáš (advisor) ; Pítra, Vladimír (referee)
83 VIII. RESUMÉ International Protection of Industrial Rights Intellectual property is a dynamic area of law, flowering especially in the age of information society. Thanks to new technologies and mainly due to the use of Internet the local markets are becoming global. As intellectual property becomes more interconnected with other fields of law its importance keeps rising and so does the role of international regulation. Particular industry rights protection may be relied upon only when protected in all the countries of potential exploitation. International agreements relevant for this area of law are analysed in this work and emphasis is put on their main functions, which is the overcoming of the principle of territorial limitation and the guarantee of protection of the rights attained in one state by other states. The goal of my thesis is to provide an insight on the problematic of international regulation of intellectual property, analyse it from the legal point of view and reflect its significance in the light of actual social context. In order to fulfil this goal I have chosen to use the following methods: literature analysis, statistical analysis, comparative analysis and secondary analysis. Despite the role of industrial right played in the recent times they seem to be subject to rather marginal...

20th CENTURY AS AN EXPERIENCE OF ONE CONCRETE WOMAN
Svobodová, Jana ; Sokolová, Věra (advisor) ; Kiczková, Zuzana (referee)
The aim of my diploma work is to find, how are concrete periods and events reflected in a life of concrete women, how were her acts influenced by gender norms and stereotypes of the society, and how much felt this woman limited by them. As a method was chosen the oral history, that enables working with the life stories of people of all kinds of social status and experiences. Its based on biografical life stories, that are analized and interpreted by the research. In the case of my narrator was chosen my grandma, born in the 1922 in agricultural society. This caused that her life experiences dont correspond with the picture of her period, that we know from the historiographical mainstream production, accenting the city middle classes. Therefore it is - by usány the oral history and the analytical category gender - possible to make an original wiev at the events and period of the twentieth century in the way lived by concrete women. This wiev, often marginalizing political events accented by mainstream history, and accenting everyday life influenced by the gender system more, is the vivid proof how much different can be the apprehention of the life according to the context and the concrete life experiences.

Silverlight technology and its practical use

This diploma thesis brings a look at the relatively new technology Microsoft Silverlight, which is a new platform for developing Rich Internet Applications (RIA). It contains features and principles of Silverlight technology in a context of several other technologies. As a part of this work, there is a practical project developed in Microsoft Silverlight 2.0, which is used as a demonstration of described principals and techniques in a theoretical part. The goal of this work is to provide the best possible and complete description of Silverlight's features, advantages, but also limitations. In the thesis there can be also found comparisons with related technology Microsoft Windows Presentation Framework (WPF) and also with other competitors on a RIA market.

The use of psychodrama in supervision
Švadlenová, Jana ; Havrdová, Zuzana (advisor) ; Procházková, Jana (referee)
The main topic of my diploma work called "The use of psychodrama in supervision" is a psychodrama method that is applied for the use of supervision praxis. In the first part of my work - Psychodrama as a method - is psychodrama described in its historical development that is connected with its founder J. L. Moreno, a doctor and a psychotherapist from Austria. Further in the text is psychodrama defined in the context of contemporary conception. It is also showed how are its basic elements, phases and techniques used in the praxis. In the second part of my work - Supervision and the method of psychodrama - is the psychodramatic supervision presented from the two points of view. The first point of view belongs to several contemporary professionals dealing with its theory and praxis and the second one belongs to German supervisors who were asked for this purpose. This part also summarises arguments for the use of psychodramatic supervision, specific concepts of professional education and theoretical concepts of psychodramatic supervision. As my diploma work is dedicated especially to the supervisors who are on the beginning of their supervision carriers it contains also concrete limits and recommendations for the use of psychodramatic supervision that have preventive character.

Error in Descartes' philosophy
Klinka, Tomáš ; Hill, James (referee) ; Palkoska, Jan (advisor)
The present work analyses the theory of error of René Descartes, mainly in the context of his Fourth Meditation. This analyze begins with the exposition of the Descartes' theory of judgment and his notions of understanding and volition. The main question is the following: Is Descartes' theory of error valid, even if we consider all the objections of Descartes' critics? The maill objection is: in the explication of error during our judgment as a result of interaction between a limited understanding and an unlimited human will, we have to consider us capable do decide at will what we believe and what we don't, which is not an intuitive position. But this work suggests that this non-intuitive position is sustainable, if we abandon the "strong" version of Descartes' voluntarism, in which the will influences our believes directly, and we see Descartes' theory of error as using the "milder" version of voluntarism (called here "attention" voluntarism), in which the will influence us indirectly, by forcing our attention in the needed way. As a final conclusion, we consider Descartes' theory of error as valid.

Multivariate GARCH

4 Title: Multivariate GARCH Author: Mgr. Milan Mad'ar Department: Katedra pravděpodobnosti a matematické statistiky Abstract: This thesis will examine the regional and global linkages as evi- dence of integration of stock markets in Frankfurt, Amsterdam, Prague and the U.S. Therefore we will utilize the multivariate GARCH approach that investigates the dynamics of volatility transmission of related foreign exchange rates. Also, we will define three basic model classes. For each of the model classes a theoret- ical review, basic properties and estimation procedure with proofs are provided. We illustrate each approach by applying the models to daily market data. The two main aims of the thesis are to discuss and report the existence of regional and global stock markets linkages and provide a comparison of such multivariate GARCH models on the data sample. The main contribution of the thesis is that it treats the data in the context of real development in financial markets and takes into account the real situation during and after the financial crisis of 2008. We find out that the estimated time-varying conditional correlations indicate limited integration among the markets, which implies that investors can benefit from the risk reduction by investing in the different stock markets, especially during the crisis....
