International railway transport of goods in the Czech Republic and Slovakia

The goal of my thesis is to analyze the current situation in the market of rail freight transport and to find the potential of the international railway transport of goods in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. It is focused on the comparison of these countries. Main topics of this thesis are i. a. the competitive environment in the Czech and Slovak railway, combined transport, system trains and the expected future progress.

Analysis obout infrastructure of a resort Lipno nad Vltavou

The aim of my bachelor thesis is to make descroption about municipality Lipno nad Vltavou and its neighbouring municipalities in deed. In the theoretical part I have explained few basic conceptions and summarized some basic informations about transport infrastructure and characteristic of municipality Lipno nad Vltavou. The practical part is based on contemporary traffic availibility of this area, internal infrastructure of the center; concretely about the interconnection of three ski areas and describes principal the infrastructure of a municipality in details. According to the observed data I have done SWOT analysis about individual means of transport. The closing part of my bachelor thesis fucuses on an actively planned project which is the main part of the project -- developement of Lipenský region.

This thesis describes high-speed railway system in Spain. At the first part it concerns on the history of high-speed rails in the world, its legislation and the contribution of EU. The second part concentrates on the evolution in Spain, high speed infrastructure and trains. Mainly it analyzes the price policy.

Railway Transport in Czechoslavakia, 1918-1938

Cílem této práce je popsat historický vývoj železnice v českých zemích a její hospodářské souvislosti a analyzovat problematiku vybraných státních zásahů v odvětví dopravy. Teoretická část práce nastiňuje hlavní vývojové trendy železnice na našem území od jejích počátků až do období první republiky včetně mezinárodně-politických témat a poukazuje na její ekonomické aspekty (především z pozice průmyslu a zahraničního obchodu). Analytická část práce vychází zejména z přístupu rakouské školy ekonomie a analyzuje dopady i nezamýšlené důsledky postupného zestátňování soukromých železnic a regulace provozování soukromé automobilové dopravy. Tato práce se snaží přiblížit historii železniční dopravy a pomocí ekonomické analýzy prokázat nežádoucí důsledky státních zásahů nejen pro sektor dopravy, ale i ostatní odvětví ekonomiky.

Interconnection of the European Union and Kazakhstan on the Basis of the Railway Service

Pro eurasijský světadíl, např. větší část Ruska, západní a centrální část Číny, státy Centrální Asie, Západní a Východní Evropu vzájemný obchod účinněji může být realizován prostřednictvím pozemních komunikací. Transkontinentální železniční spojení je bezpečnější, dvakrát levnější a kratší než námořní přeprava. Díky své geografické poloze, politické stabilitě, ekonomickému růstu, technickým a technologickým předpokladům Kazachstán má obrovský tranzitní potenciál a může sloužit mostem mezi Evropou a Asií v systému transkontinentálních železničních koridorů. Není náhodou, že existovala Velká Hedvábná cesta, jejíž podstatná část procházela územím Kazachstánu. Obsahem práce je analýza ?eurokazašských? vztahů, charakteristika železniční dopravy Kazachstánu, popis transkazašských a transevropských železničních koridorů a návrhy jejich propojení.

Liberalizace železniční nákladní dopravy

This paper discusses the railway market and its deregulation. Railway market used to be included in natural monopoly in the past and therefore railway operators were national businesses. This paper gives us theoretical arguments for the fact, that the inclusion of railway transport in natural monopoly is not correct and that only the infrastucture is the area of the natural monopoly. Since 1992, EU has realised these arguments and started deregulation of railway market. The objective of this process is to achieve significant modal share of the rail freight transport, to raise market share of new entrants and to reach better financial transparency of railway companies. This paper also describes the transformation of several railway markets in EU. Further, this paper also discusses the situation in the Czech railway market. In conclusion, this paper presents further trend in the Czech railway market and gives several suggestions how to raise the rail freight transport.
