Jewish pilgramage places in the Near East and in Egypt in Hebrew travel writings of the 12th-16th centuries
Hlavní prameny práce tvoří cestopisy židovských poutníků a seznamy svatých míst, avšak vedle těchto zdrojů disertace bohatě využívá i dokumenty z Káhirské genízy, obsahující soukromou nebo obchodní korespondenci, a v neposlední řadě i hebrejská díla historické a literární povahy.

The 20th century muralism in Mexico
Binková, Petra ; Opatrný, Josef (advisor) ; Štěpánek, Pavel (referee)
As I was trying to suggest in this text, the cultural value of mural production is political in the sense that it responds to interests and motives of the social world and intends to transform the space which it occupies. When doing so, such visual works orient itself toward the construction of its own public. The mural process that aspires to create mural art must therefore be multiple and combined. A similar thought has been pointed out by Bruce Campbell his book Mexican Murals in Times of Crisis: [Mural practice must be] making its commitments and negotiating compromises within the balance of social forces; attempting to fix in some manner the social context in which it takes place; hailing a more or less broad sector of the social milieu; and seeking out some meaningful figure with an eye toward symbolic consensus, or "no man's land" capable of negotiating through perspectival conflicts over the space of the work.,,161 Only by attention to the practical components of muralism does it become possible to recognize a contextual variety of mural work. In fact, these are nothing more than distinct modes of formal compromise between the production of the mural image and its public. An alternative delineation of contemporary muralism is thus at the same time a delineation of practical accomplishments...

Swimming pool
Nejedlý, Adam ; Bartolšicová, Eva (referee) ; Matějka, Libor (advisor)
The aim of this master's thesis is design of an indoor swimming pool in the town of Náměšť nad Oslavou. The thesis contains project documentation, technical reports, reports of fire safety and assessment of building physics. There are two swimming pools designed in the building, main swimming pool of lenght 25m and a smaller one for children. Next to the pool hall a wellness area is placed consisting of three saunas, as well as cooling pool and a rest room. The proposed building has one ground floor and one basement level. Load-bearing structures are made of reinforced concrete except for the structure of the roof in the pool hall which is constructed from glued timber trusses. A glass facade is designed in this part of the building. Perimeter walls are thermally insulated using polystyrene foam. The roof is designed as a compact roof with foam glass thermal insulation.

The Multipurpose Building in Opava
Gross, Petr ; Struhala, Karel (referee) ; Manychová, Monika (advisor)
The subject of this diploma thesis is the processing of design documentation for realization of the new-build multipurpose building in Opava. The building is designed on the grounds of a former dairy in the Krnovská street where the demolition of obsolete buildings passed off recently. Now are these areas designed to build up again. Designed object will function as a multipurpose building with the operation of a restaurant on the 1st floor, office spaces on the 2nd floor and dwelling units on the 3rd floor. Part of the first floor is a mass garage primarily intended for residents of dwelling units with a total of 9 parking places. It is designed eight dwelling units in total of which six are one-room flats and two are four-room flats. Plan shape of the building is rectangular. The londbearing structure of the building is a reinforced concrete prefabricated precast concrete frame founded on cast-in-place concreted pads. Infill walls are clay brick. The building is roofed with warm flat roof. Dominant features of the building are large glass areas in all floors, metal ventilated facade and loggias of dwelling units. The drawings are processed in AutoCAD programme.

Multifunctional Building

The dissertation contains the project and working out of the designing documentation for execution of a multifunctional building. The project deals with a new multifunctional building in the marginal part of the Olomouc city. The object is a brick building with no cellar and four above-ground floors. The ground plan of the building is regular and mainly rectangular. There are balconies at the corner and in the middle of the eastern part of building in above-ground floors. The last floor is partially receding and there are two terraces here. There is the flat roof construction. The horizontal and vertical supporting and non-supporting constructions are suggested from the Heluz´s brick system. There are three places of business on the ground floor and ten flats on the above-ground floors. The building site has a plane terrain.
