The status of regions in local governance system and its authority in the regional development

This thesis deals with an analysis of the economic performance of the Pardubice region and with an evaluation of a selected regional development project. It is divided into two parts. Firstly, the historical development and the current status of local governance in the Czech Republic are defined in the theoretical part. Further, the definition of regional policy with the emphasis on the role of the region in regional development is provided. Final section of the theoretical part is dedicated to the financial aspects of local governance, particularly to detailed description of the income and expenditure components of the budget. The analytical part of this thesis begins with the characteristics of the Pardubice region, especially from the geographical and socio-economic perspectives and continues with the analysis of economic performance of the Pardubice region in the period 2011 -- 2013. A comparison of the indebtedness of this region with other regions and the national average is added. Final part of the thesis provides an assessment of the selected regional development project called "Effective Public Administration and Friendly Public Services -- Smart Administration".

This thesis is to summarize satisfaction of timber structure users in Pardubicky region. The research was focused on timber structures built between years 1995 and 2013; and was gathering basic information of their users, type of building and intensions which led to its construction. Advantages and disadvantages of this type of living/housing were specified based on earned experience. This thesis is more focused on socio-economical factor rather than woodworking due the field of study. The conclusion of this study contains global evaluation of timber structures, its typical user and recommendation for suppliers and local authorities.
Resistance of municipal debt and the possibility of its regulation in the Czech Republic (at the level of municipalities and regions)

This graduation thesis focuses on the issue of municipal debt acceptability and the possibility of its regulation. This thesis includes an analysis of revenues and expenditures of municipalities and regions, which points to a lack of non-repayable income. On the basis of analysis is also carried out an assessment of the municipalities. Part of this thesis also analyses debt at local and regional level and the ability to control debt in terms of existing legislation and proposal for the future. The practical part deals with the management of the Pardubice region by comparing the income and expenditure budget and evaluation of region debt acceptability.
Distribution of ginkgo (Ginkgo biloba L.), American tulip tree (Liriodendron tulipifera L.) and sweet chestnut (Castanea sativa Mill.) in the Hradec Králové and Pardubice region.

The aim of this thesis is to revise known locations of maidenhair tree (Ginkgo biloba L.), tulip poplar (Liriodendron tulipifera L.) and European chestnut (Castanea sativa Mill.) in Hradec Králové and Pardubice regions (Eastern Bohemia). The sites reported from literature sources and herbarium specimens were revised and supplemented by data from my own field survey. Maidenhair tree, tulip poplar and European chestnut are introduced woody plants in the Czech republic. They are usually planted as ornamental trees in gardens of castle and a city parks. In sum, I found 37 places with 62 trees of maidenhair tree, 47 places with 47 trees of tulip poplar and 32 places with 37 of european chestnut growing there.
The analysis of religious tourism in the Pardubický region

This thesis deals with the analysis of potential of the Pardubický region for religious tourism. Its main aim is to create an overview of religious monuments and festivities in the Pardubický region and of their current use in tourism and to suggest how to further support the development of religious tourism in the region. The thesis focuses on catholic and protestant monuments and of religious festivities it deals mainly pilgrimages. In the first part the Pardubický region is characterized and its potential for tourism. The second part includes an outline of the historical development of the Czech lands, with an emphasis on church history, an overview of the most important religious monuments in the Pardubický region and of their current use in tourism. The third part presents the current national projects, which promote religious tourism, and assesses the current presentation and promotion of religious monuments in the Pardubický region. The last part contains suggestions for further utilization of religious monuments in tourism and their promotion, as well as a few ideas for creation of thematic tourist routes. The conclusion discusses barriers, that prevent better use of religious monuments in tourism.
Development of tourism in the region Pardubický and its further perspectives

The thesis deals with the analysis of tourism in the region Pardubický which has permanent problems with low attendace. The thesis researches causes of the problems and tries to find an adequate solution. The first part comes with the information about the development of tourism in the European Union and possibility to gain money from funds. Then the supply and the demand in tourism in the region Pardubický is analyzed. Suggestions how to solve problems and increase attendance come from the analysis.
The Tourism Development Strategy in Pardubice region

The main objective of this thesis is to approach the issue of management of destinations and to analyse the potential for development, the strategy for the development of tourism, and to propose more opportunities for the development of tourism in the Pardubice region. The work is divided into two parts - the practical and theoretical part. The theoretical section explains the basic concepts and discusses the issue of destination management. Practical part deals with a detailed analysis of the Pardubice region, strategies for the tourism development and the final evaluation of the current state including the developement potential of the region.
Analysis of accessability of homes for elderly people in Pardubice region

The diploma thesis is focused on the analysis of accessability of homes for the elderly people in the Pardubice region. The first part is the definition of terms and evaluation of various types of social assistance and an explanation of who is and who can be a provider of social services under the law. The practical part is focused on the analysis of the provision of residential services for seniors in the region. There are also analysed data of individual regions of this area and proposal how to improve the financial situation and the availability of homes for the elderly.
