The mortgage crisis in the USA

This bachelor thesis focuses on a problem of a mortgage crisis present in USA. It presents main problems connected with the current crisis situation at the mortgage market through standards of issuing new mortgages i.e. prime and subprime. It attempts to get closer look at the process of issuing the mortgages and tries analyze the conditions which have led to improper work of the system. Thesis deals also with the questions of appraisal and his/her appraisal standards. These eased appraisal standards of real estates could be considered also as one of the causes of current mortgage crisis. In the end, american companies Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac are presented with their history and current status. To sum up, this bachelor thesis attempts to grant a look at the conditions of both the mortgage and the real estate market and tries to analyze the causes and reasons which led to the contemporary crisis.

Implementation of project management in IT company

This thesis deals with the implementation of project management in an IT company from the sector of Small and Medium Enterprise. Its goal is to prepare the project management framework based on the robust methodics PMBoK, by which the company can begin to perform its business cases by using projects. The minor goals are the clear definition of project management and the summary of PMBoK and its features customized for the SME sector. This thesis consists of three parts: first one defines the basic terminology related to project management and includes the selection of the ideal organizational structure for project management in smaller company. Next part analyses the methodics PMBoK and it is used to derive a customized methodics for Small and Medium Enterprises.This methodics is then described more in detail in the last part with emphasis on process description. The main contribution of this thesis lies in creation of customized methodics of project management, which will be used in real life. Next minor contribution is the process of customization of PMBoK for SME.

Real-Time Rendering of a Scene With Many Pedestrians

The aim of this thesis was to implement a software that would be able to render, simulate and record a scene with walking pedestrians in real-time, with emphasis on rendering level of realism. The output of the application could serve as an input test data for people counting systems or similar systems for video recognition. The problem was divided into three major subproblems: character animation, artificial intelligence for character movement and advanced rendering techniques. The character animation problem is solved by the skeletal animation of the model. To achieve the characters moving in a scene autonomously path finding(A* algorithm) and group behaviors(steering behaviors) were implemented. Realism in a scene is added by implemented methods such as normal-mapping, variance shadow-mapping, deffered rendering, skydome, lens flare effect and screen space ambient occlusion. Optimaliaztion of the rendering was implemented using octree data structure for space partitioning. Rendering stage of a scene can be easily parametrized through implemented GUI. Implemented application provides the user with easy way of setting a scene with walking pedestrians, setting its visualization and to record the result.

This thesis is focused on sentiment analysis of unstructured text and its practical application on the real data downloaded from website Yelp.com The objectives of the theoretical part of this thesis is to sum up the information related to history, methods and possible applications of sentiment analysis. A reader is acquainted with important terms and processes of sentiment analysis. Theoretical part is focused on Naive Bayes classifier, that will be used in practical part of this thesis. In practical part there is detailed description of data set, construction and testing of model. At the end there are presented pros and cons of the chosen model and described some possibilities of its usage.

The effect of european economic integration on international trade

This bachelor thesis aims to economic integration of Europe. In the first part, it focuses on issues of stages of economic integration. The second part is dedicated to Europen Monetary union, its advantages and disadvantages. The next part is dealing with history and development of EU, CEFTA, EFTA, BAFTA. In final part, we use gravity model of international trade to analyze influence of each mentioned integrated group. Panel dataset consists of 27 776 observations of 23 years (1993-2015). Our results are consistent with other researchers, that are dealing with this issues. But some differences have been found. Preferential trading areas increases international trade, but the EMU coefficient is negative. Later on, we compare calculated potential exports of the czech republic to real exports to neighboring countries.

The property insurance in the retail sector

The topic of this bachelor thesis is the property insurance in the retail sector with emphasis on the home insurance. Firstly, the thesis discourses on general information about property insurance, its history and its fundamental elements. Then follows break-down to real estate insurance and home insurance and assessment of the current situation on the Czech market for these products. In the final part there is a comparison of products which are offered by three of the largest insurance companies in the Czech Republic. The acquired information is lately used for calculation of premium for a model household. The benefit of this thesis is an overview about home insurance and introduction of necessary information which should be concerned while negotiating these type of insurance.

Internal audit of banks and its function during detection of fraudulent actions

This bachelor thesis is focused on the analysis of internal audit in bank and his function during the detection of fraud schemes. Firstly, there is a summary of audit evolution in the world and Czech republic then the thesis defines general concept of audit and its parts such as internal and external audits and their relation. Within internal audit there is explained its principle, characteristic of internal auditor and integration into the organizational structure. The process of internal audit in bank is important part of the thesis and all phases and work activities are explained. There are defined types of frauds and their perpetrators in the segment of fraudulent activities. The thesis highlights the position of internal audit amongst several kinds of detection methods. This final finding is supported by two real cases that are analyzed from the perspective of internal audit.

Iraqi exile literature

This thesis examines the work of the contemporary exilic Iraqi author Ḥasan Blāsim within the framework of magical realism. At the same time it argues for a more formalistic and wider definition of magical realism, which also includes fiction without any supernatural elements. Magical realistic components found in the short story collection Majnūn sāḥat al-ḥurrīya (The Madman of Freedom Square) underline the most important themes in the stories. These are related to the catastrophes that afflicted Iraq and its people in the course of last thirty years. With its emphasis on the documentation of modern Iraqi history dominated by war and exile Blāsim's work belongs to the genre of documentary narrative. The goal of documentary narrative is to contribute to the collective memory of a nation. Despite Blāsim's focus on documenting, magical realism in his work cannot be considered as an attempt to create a parallel cultural world. The supernatural in his stories functions metaphorically and relates exclusively to the real world of war and violence, in which people under heavy circumstances turn into animals, cannibals, which is magical in itself. Master thesis is about entrepreneurship. The theoretical part provides basic theoretical concepts related to entrepreneurship and entrepreneurs. This section describes the entrepreneurial skills, entrepreneurial personality traits and three alternative structures of the business plan. Practical work has a real benefit for the author, because it is the business plan for the authors real business idea. A substantial part of this part consists of marketing research, which is used to verify authors hypothesis and define the size of the market. The aim is to assess the feasibility of a specific business plan.
