Analytical Framework for Facility Management in ArcGIS
Cupák, Michal ; Peringer, Petr (referee) ; Hrubý, Martin (advisor)
This thesis deals with design and implementation of analytical modules library for administration of buildings in ArcGIS geographic information system. Individual modules are implemented in Python and solve sub-problems when working with geographical data. They can be also connected to the larger units and then solve problems with greater complexity. Central concept of project and journaling systems makes library extensible with new modules. Implemented set of modules process input data from supplier and converts them to the structure of geographical data in ArcGIS. This conversion is illustrated in this thesis.
Track's Elevation Profile View on a Public GIS
Doubal, Štěpán ; Šilhavá, Jana (referee) ; Fapšo, Michal (advisor)
This bachelor's thesis describes the design and implementation of a user script for GreaseMonkey (plug-in for Firefox). This script adds a functionality to show height profile of a defined route. The route is defined using public GIS tools from www.mapy.cz. The script extracts coordinates from page DOM structure, processes it and draws a height graph. The graph is created using http://www.heywhatsthat.com/profiler.html [2] or www.profile.hy.cz, which provides height graph drawing using www.vyskopis.cz JavaScript API [4].
Object Oriented Geographic Databases
Komloši, Juraj ; Janoušek, Vladimír (referee) ; Hrubý, Martin (advisor)
This paper demonstrates object oriented geographic databases's applying. It is based on geographic information systems. It describes properties of geographical information systems and their uses in practise. There are also described main properties and methods of object oriented standards in this paper. All of them are used in geographical oriented systems. New ideas are defined, object oriented raster, object oriented vector and some methods defining storing these items in object oriented database. Proposal for a method of storing data in a geographical object-oriented database is supported by case study.
Georeferenced Data Visualization on Web-Based Map Interface
Růžička, Štěpán ; Polok, Lukáš (referee) ; Bartoň, Radek (advisor)
The master's thesis is concerned with design and implementation of library extending OpenLayers. For the solution was used JavaScript programming language. Part of this thesis is devoted to description of standards for maintaining and transfering geographic information and to JavaScript map presenting libraries and REST services.
General Solution of Geo-Portals Based on Open-Source GIS Tools
Kučera, Ondřej ; Kočí, Radek (referee) ; Hrubý, Martin (advisor)
The bachelor's thesis is concerned with design and implementation of server which provides connection between GIS GRASS and Internet through WPS service. Part of this thesis is devoted to description of OGC standards and used tools.
Methodology for the solution of massive tasks in GIS
Opatřilová, Irena ; Hanzl, Vlastimil (referee) ; Cajthaml,, Jiří (referee) ; Řezník,, Tomáš (referee) ; Bartoněk, Dalibor (advisor)
This doctoral thesis deals with the issue of solving massive tasks in GIS. These tasks process large volumes of geographic data with different formats. The thesis describes a theoretical analysis of the complexity of tasks and the possibilities to optimize sub-processes which lead to an acceptable solution. It considers the possibility of using parallelism in GIS, which leads to an acceleration in the processing of large volumes of geographic data. It also proposes a method for the optimization of processes through an algorithm which determines the number of means necessary for the successful solution of a task at a specified time and assigns processes to these means. Additionally, there is a proposed algorithm for the optimization of the preparation of data for extensive GIS projects. The algorithms have been validated by the results of a research project, the aim of which was to analyse the terrain surface above a gas line in the Czech Republic. The primary method of analysis was the classification of an orthophoto image, which was further refined through filtration using the ZABAGED layers. Therefore, the thesis deals with the possibility of improving the results of image classification using GIS instruments as well as dealing with the determination of the error rate in analysis results. The results of the analysis are now used for the strategic planning of maintenance and the development of gas facilities in the Czech Republic. The results of the work have general importance regarding the performance of other operations of the same class in GIS.
Use of GIS Methods in Real Estate Engineering
Benda, Michal ; Klika, Pavel (referee) ; Daňhel, Petr (advisor)
This Master's thesis deals with the creation of a geographic information system with a focus on real estate business. It shows the possibilities of future real estate business and also the overall intersection of geographic information systems to the real estate market. The area of interest is a town in Eastern Bohemia Holice and its surroundings. GIS is created in ArcGIS 9.3 The all work contains fifteen chapters. The beginning is theoretical, then we get to specific ways of use and their subsequent visualization through the creation of specific procedures. The whole geographic information system is exported to a format that supports freely available browser. The annexes are located mainly with the DVD system and eleven graphic outputs from GIS.
Evaluating the effectiveness of complex protection measures in cadastral area Jerlochovice in Husí potok Watershed
Matoušek, Petr ; Sobotková, Veronika (referee) ; Dumbrovský, Miroslav (advisor)
A subject of this Thesis is the design of the complex system of measures of soil conservation in given catchment area, which will serve as a concept of complex land consolidation in cadaster Jerlochovice. Based on the analysis and the land survey, a feasible solution was designed using the hydrological and erosive tools of ArcGIS. For the identification of areas endangered by erosion and for the identification of runoff conditions, the Universal Soil Loss Equation of Wischmeier-Smith was used (in grid modification). Based on the calculated values, the suitable technical and agrotechnical measures of soil erosion control were designed. Each component was designed for the values of Qn from the model DesQ. Subsequently the efectivity of the designed measures was evaluated by the comparison of results of erosive and runoff conditions before and after the aplication of the soil and water conservation measures.

Cycle Path GIS of Moravian Wine Trails
Kobližek, Tomáš ; Bartoněk, Dalibor (referee) ; Ježek, Jiří (advisor)
The subject of this thesis was to create cycle path geographic information system (GIS) north of Znojmo wine trail. The main goal of the GIS witch informs about parameters of cycle routes and attractions and services. Data collection was carried out in terrain and were obtained necessary data and maps for the creation of GIS. ArcGIS 10.1 from ESRI company was been used for proccesing of data. Couple of outputs from GIS has been created at the end of the work. The user can use GIS data in various programs and on different platforms.
