The doctoral thesis preliminary focuses on the comparison of concepts of creation in music and architecture and to explore the connection and possible blending of both arts. The main focus of the dissertation is the research of the parallel between the composition of music and architecture, in their characters, means of composition and methods. The methods of approaching the topic were the analysis's of music and architectural materials such as dedicated books, magazines, internet articles, as well as audio recordings, realisations of architectonic works, printed materials on acoustics, psychology of perception and aesthetics as well as own experience and knowledge in the field of music and architecture and the experiment in composition. Results of the dissertation are theoretical conclusions enlightening the given topic and the practical experiment in the form of the analysis of the music composition and the application of its compositional methods into the architectonic design.
Camouflage
Ošlejšková, Petra ; Vaněk, Tomáš (referee) ; Klímová, Barbora (advisor)
Masters thesis works with concepts such as home intimacy, safety, system, etc. During the period from 16.1.2012 to 12.3.2012 author secretly penetrated into the apartment their parents and disrupted by subtle interventions to break the routine like their home. Secretly watched the behavior and rules which operate on her parents (with their parents she dont live). The intervention provoked to a specific form of interaction between author and her family.
Algorithms for Determining the Order of the Group of Points on an EllipticCurve with Application in Cryptography
Web Application Development with OpenXava Framework
Šimon, Martin ; Pecinovský, Rudolf (advisor) ; Šlajchrt, Zbyněk (referee)
The thesis is concerned with a comparison of Java web framework OpenXava and frameworks Grails, Zend, Play, Nette, Node.JS and Symfony processed by authors Odehnal [17], Kadlec [12], Kočárek [14] and Dočkal [6]. It contains theoretical part concerned with development and architecture of framework, which provides a comprehensive picture of working with OpenXava. The practical part contains particular sample application of the specifications of which come from the thesis created by František OdehnalIt contains theoretical part concerned with development and architecture of framework, which provides a comprehensive picture of working with OpenXava. The practical part contains particular sample application of the specifications of which come from the thesis created by František Odehnal [17]. The process of its development is described in detail and completes information from the official documentation of OpenXava framework. As a result of the knowledge gained during the development of the sample application, great comparison of the above-mentioned frameworks and OpenXava is contained. The comparison involves several areas. At the beginning, general differences of frameworks and implementation of Martin Fowler´s design patterns are compared. The next area is carried out in working within framework and covers objective criteria as well as a subjective point of view. The last area is concerned with a support of the frameworks and examines availability of literature, support from its developers and also how much it is widespread among the professional public. The results of the comparison should make the orientation in the market of web frameworks easier.
A comparison of the web Rapid Application Development frameworks Ruby on Rails and Spring Roo
Jindráček, Petr ; Pavlíčková, Jarmila (advisor) ; Šlajchrt, Zbyněk (referee)
The topic of this master's thesis is a comparison of web Rapid Application Development frameworks Ruby on Rails and Spring Roo. The paper focuses on creating extensive overview of pros and cons of the subjected tools from the web developer's point of view to enhance his awareness about the subject, also to come up with new questions for further analysis or even convince him to use one of the frameworks in the real projects. Firstly, the paper contains a theoretical overview of the common conceptions for better understanding of the following parts and then specific principles for each of the selected frameworks. Secondly, there is a practical part. On one hand it demonstrates the implementation of a reference application using both platforms to illustrate the practical distinctions. On the other hand, it also contains an overall comparison based on the defined methodology. Altogether, it should form a comprehensive comparison of the selected frameworks for web developers interested in Ruby and Java platforms.
Comparison of rapid development frameworks Nette(PHP) and Grails(Groovy)
Frank, Jiří ; Pavlíčková, Jarmila (advisor) ; Oraný, Vladimír (referee)
This thesis aims on comparison of rapid development frameworks Nette and Grails. Main objective of this paper is achieved by brief description of both languages (PHP, Groovy) and frameworks. Next is defined relatively complex set of criteria for comparison itself. Frameworks are then compared based on this set. Last part is development of the identical application on both platforms, thanks to which the practicle comparison may be done. The main contribution of this work is in comprehensive comparison of platforms Nette (PHP) and Grails (Groovy), which may be used for making decision about which platform to take for a development of new application. Comparision of course may serve like an information about that what developer should keep an eye on, what can make life easier or harder especially in contrast with that what offers concurent platform.
Natural law as the basis of universal ethics?
TOMANDL, Antonín
The paper examines the development of natural law as a possible starting point for conceiving of ethic of a universal character. It is divided into two main parts, the first is devoted to the historical development and presentation of different conceptions of human nature, hence natural law, from the times of great philosophers such as Plato or Aristotle, up to John Finnis. The second part deals with natural law from the perspective of the International Theological Commission (ITC) in its more specific actualization and attempts some degree of comparison of this concept with the traditional concepts.
Comparison of .NET and other platforms for developing web applications
Louda, Petr ; Pecinovský, Rudolf (advisor) ; Pavlíčková, Jarmila (referee)
The thesis complements a comparison of two frameworks for Java platform and PHP language by third framework for .NET platform. As the main source of comparison serves thesis by František Odehnal and a sample application developed in ASP.NET MVC framework. Thanks to the detailed description of the application development and application of reasonable complexity thesis can serve as a study material for novice developers. A secondary aim of this thesis is to complete the context of web application development, by analyzing trends in rapid application development (RAD) and through presentation of .NET platform. Following František Odehnal's methodology this thesis complements comparison of Grails and Zend frameworks by ASP.NET MVC framework. The first area comparisons are fundamental differences between the frameworks. A comparison of architecture of frameworks follows and criteria are based on the architectural patterns of Martin Fowler. Working with frameworks is compared by using objective criteria and personal opinions. These areas are complemented by comparison of frameworks support (publications, discussion groups, etc.). Completed comparison allows the reader to get an overview of frameworks for rapid application development on the three major platforms. This can help novice developers in deciding which framework to test or use. Presentation of the platform and the trend analysis provides additional useful information not only for novice developers.
Religion, tradition and order - Comparison of traditional churches`s and sects`s behaviour
Gabriel, Jan ; Chalupníček, Pavel (advisor) ; Minárik, Pavol (referee)
There are two main parts in this thesis. In the first one, we are focused on different approaches to the relationship of religion and government. We point out the influence of religion (both positive and negative) on individual. These issues are viewed from the perspective of some famous theories. For example: G.S. Becker's Accounting for Tastes, F. A. Hayek's theory of spontaneous order, H. Bergson's philosophy or M. Weber's sociology of religion. The second part analyses situation in Czech Republic and compares it to situations in Austria and Sweden. There are appendixes, which can be used as bases for new research.
