Latiak, Martin ; Ing. Zuzana Šedivá (advisor) ; doc. Ing. Norbert Žid, CSc. (referee)
The goal of this paper is to analyze the relationship between e-learning and knowledge management. I would also like to examine the possibility of practical applications of this relationship. To fulfill the objectives, I want to analyze the theoretical background of e-learning and knowledge management and examine the ways of creation, dissemination and use of knowledge. I will then look for common methods, goals and tools used in both e-learning and knowledge management. My contribution lies especially in an unconventional view of the key issues. I am not aware of any document, systematically mapping the relationship between e-learning and management of knowledge and investigating the possibilities of using e-learning as a support to knowledge management. The discoveries presented in this paper can be used to increase the effectiveness of knowledge management, leading to increased overall performance and more innovations in organization. The applicability of the study results is about putting them into practice. Taking the relationship between e-learning and knowledge management into account, may lead to better strategic and investment decisions. The introductory chapters describe today’s e-learning and knowledge management solutions, including the most recent ones coming from the web 2.0 world. Later the relationship between e-learning and knowledge management is discussed, including the possibilities of using e- learning as a support to KM. The concluding chapters describe the usage of particular e- learning applications, present relevant statistical data and the last one provides suggestions for e-learning solutions for different sized companies.

Crime scene inspection
Vrátná, Zuzana ; Štourač, Petr (advisor) ; Musil, Jan (referee)
Examination of s cene of crime When thinking about the topic of my diploma thesis I had quite clear idea that the topic should be from the area of crown-low or criminology, because both of them are my favourite. I have chosen the topic "Examination of scene of crime", because I think that examination of scene of crime is one of the most important processes within the criminal procedure and only with the correct and detailed examination the criminal can be convicted for perpetrated crime. The significance of examination the scene of crime I see in the fact, that it is the only way, how institutions operating in criminal procedures can get information about the relevant incident directly. The thesis is composed of five chapters, which enable us step by step understand and learn about the examination of scene of crime. The first chapter is an introduction and considers the examination as a criminalistic method. This chapter is divided into six parts. The first one explains the conception, principle and signification of examination. Second part is focused on the legal frame of examination. The third part describes types of examination. The fourth part mentions fundamentals of examination, the fifth shows the subjects of examination and the sixth part is dealing with the negative circumstances of examination....

The current relevance of village shops and the identification of rural food deserts the example of Semily district
Syrovátková, Marie ; Šiftová, Jana (advisor) ; Bednář, Pavel (referee)
As the rural retail net in Czechia has declined in the last 20 years, the aim of this thesis was to develop the current socioeconomic importance of village shops in countryside in order to assess the possibility of the existence of rural food deserts in Czechia. The example of the Semily district was used. The combination of quantitative and qualitative analyzes allowed to learn that the absence of a village shop is often associated with other unpropitious socioeconomic characteristics. In comparison with municipal leaders of villages without village shops, municipal leaders of villages with village shops believe in the crucial importance of village shops. However, no differences in social conditions and quality of life between villages with and without village shops were found. In the researched region, seven of nine villages without any village shop have the characteristics of rural food deserts. Their particularity is the comprehension of their inhabitants with the current situation. Nevertheless, village shop is an important community centre in the countryside. Therefore its preservation should be one of the priorities of local governments. Hence the duty of municipal leaders of villages without any village shop is to support the community life of village inhabitants by another means. The paper...

The financial instability hypothesis of Hyman P. Minsky and its apllication to the current financial crisis
Paulus, Michal ; Skuhrovec, Jiří (referee) ; Mertlík, Pavel (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with the financial instability hypothesis of Hyman P. Minsky and its application to the current financial crisis. The first part of the thesis summarizes the hypothesis, and it mentions works elaborating the hypothesis. The second part of the bachelor thesis applies the hypothesis to the current financial crisis. The whole thesis refers to the general discussion about relations of the Minsky's hypothesis to the current financial crisis and to the fall of the insurance company AIG Corporation. The second part concludes that many relevant parts of Minsky's hypothesis can be applied to the recent financial crisis but important differences of the current financial system to the system in Minsky's times should be awared of. There are two most important differences: changes in risk management and new financial instruments. At the end, the thesis discusses the implications of these differences for applicability of the hypothesis on the current financial crisis. The thesis regards the fact that the recent financial crisis is caused by rational behaviour of economic agents and not by exogenous forces as the most important lesson to learn from the financial instability hypothesis of Hyman P. Minsky.

Machine learning-based identification of separating features in molecular fragments
Ravi, Aakash ; Hoksza, David (advisor) ; Škoda, Petr (referee)
Chosen molecular representation is one of the key parameters of virtual screening campaigns where one is searching in-silico for active molecules with respect to given macromolecular target. Most campaigns employ a molecular representation in which a molecule is represented by the presence or absence of a predefined set of topological fragments. Often, this information is enriched by physiochemical features of these fragments: i.e. the representation distinguishes fragments with identical topology, but different features. Given molecular representation, however, most approaches always use the same static set of features irrespective of the specific target. The goal of this thesis is, given a set of known active and inactive molecules with respect to a target, to study the possibilities of parameterization of a fragment-based molecular representation with feature weights dependent on the given target. In this setting, we are given a very general molecular representation, with targets represented by sets of known active and inactive molecules. We subsequently propose a machine-learning approach that would identify which of the features are relevant for the given target. This will be done using a multi-stage pipeline that includes data preprocessing using statistical imputation and dimensionality...

Business rule learning using data mining of GUHA association rules
Vojíř, Stanislav ; Strossa, Petr (advisor) ; Pour, Jan (referee) ; Kouba, Zdeněk (referee) ; Gregor, Jiří (referee)
In the currently highly competitive environment, the information systems of the businesses should not only effectively support the existing business processes, but also have to be dynamically adaptable to the changes in the environment. There are increasing efforts at separation of the application and the business logic in the information system. One of the appropriate instruments for this separation is the business rule approach. Business rules are simple, understandable rules. They can be used for the knowledge externalization and sharing also as for the active control and decisions within the business processes. Although the business rule approach is used for almost 20 years, the various specifications and practical applications of business rules are still a goal of the active research. The disadvantage of the business rule approach is great demands on obtaining of the rules. There has to be a domain expert, who is able to manually write them. One of the problems addressed by the current research is the possibility of (semi)automatic acquisition of business rules from the different resources - unstructured documents, historical data etc. This dissertation thesis addresses the problem of acquisition (learning) of business rules from the historical data of the company. The main objective of this thesis is to design and validate a method for (semi)automatic learning of business rules using the data mining of association rules. Association rule are a known data mining method for discovering of interesting relations hidden in the data. Association rules are comprehensible and explainable. The comprehensibility of association rules is suitable for the use of them for learning of business rules. For this purpose the user can use not only simple rules discovered using the algorithm Apriori or FP-Growth, but also more complex association rules discovered using the GUHA method. Within this thesis is used the procedure 4ft-Miner implemented in the data mining system LISp Miner. The first part of this thesis contains the description of the relevant topics from the research of business rules and association rules. Business rules is not a name of one specification of standard but rather a label of the approach to modelling of business logic. As part of the work there is defined a process of selection of the most appropriate specification of business rules for the selected practical use. Consequently, the author proposed three models of involving of data mining of association rules into business rule sets. These models contain also the definition of a model for the transformation of GUHA association rules in the business rules for the system JBoss Drools. For the possibility of learning of business rules using the data mining results from more than one data set, the author proposed a knowledge base. The knowledge base is suitable for the interconnection of business rules and data mining of association rules. From the perspective of business rules the knowledge base is a term dictionary. From the perspective of data mining the knowledge base contains some background knowledge for data preprocessing and preparation of classification models. The proposed models have been validated using practical implementations in the systems EasyMiner (in conjunction with JBoss Drools) and Erian. The thesis contains also a description of two model use cases based on real data from the field of marketing and the field of health insurance.
