Healthy Cities Project

Human life and maintainable advancement are still more combined and discusseable.Thus in this days much more attention is beeing concerntrated at the project titled as Healthy town.Under this title one can imagine a lot of its meanings.Someone might take it as injuries,others as clean parks, whereby the kids could play without any concern.As you notice, everyone under the title Healthy town is taking it differently, but altogerther it gives the same meaning as Healthy town. I have choosen this theme for its actuallity.This project Healthy town is completely dealing with the problems of the inhabitants,but does not forget for theire responsibilities and allows an active dialog amongst them and its leadership of the town.We should not forget, that healthy towns have got well worked out methods of public administration, which is well valued by the EU.This fact helps in requirements for grants from EU which is a privilege for healthy towns,which is the reality of today. In the theoritical part of the corrent state I have hilghlited the basic information of the WHO and its communual project Healthy town, which I have aquired through out my studies from special literatures, internet references,magayines,which I have listed in the used sources. In the practical part of the research I have added the information of the findings, which I have aquired wiith the help of my own findings.Initially I have conducted the secondary data analysis, which I have obtained from the database of the national net of healthy towns in CZ, Association of healthy towns in SR,of the Czech statistical office and Slovakian statistical office. Since the project Healthy town is part of the communal project is partially formed induvidually.As a result of this I have refered in the practical part of this work two case studyies of healthy towns,which serves as an exemplary of this project.
Indicators of sustainable development in the marginal areas

The aim of this work was to compare the different regions of the Czech Republic (NUTS III) for selected years 2001, 2004 and 2007 through the indicators of sustainable development. The following indicators were selected: Net migration, unemployment, level of education and GDP per capita. The level of marginality of individual regions were then defined as a combination of these indicators. The marginal regions, as well as the very marginal, were identified by usageof the chosen methodology in each of the years , The marginal one are essentially the region located in northern Bohemia and northern Moravia. As themost marginal one appeared Ústí Region.
Transparency of activities and results of organizations

This thesis focuses on historical development of transparency in connection to the development of international investments. Its aim is to define the basic pros and cons of providing information in a transparent way, as well as its underlying issues. The thesis also introduces organizations operating in this field and the standards they have created. It is concluded with the analysis of transparency of Československá Obchodní Banka, a.s. and Unilever Group.
Promotion as part of management to ensure sustainable development of cities on the example of the capital city of Prague

Promotion of a cultural area in the capital city of Prague is related to sustainable urban development in the cultural field. Promotion and development of the city is closely connected with the promotion and development of culture in a given location and this symbiosis is almost indispensable. The use of advertising media to evaluate investment in cultural values is another important element to achieve the development of culture in society and create interest in it. This work deals with the promotion in the cultural field that is why it is so important to define the concepts related to the issue of promotion and sustainable development in the cultural field in the theoretical part of the work. On the concrete cases of selected cultural institutions and promotional strategies of the City Gallery Prague and National Museum in the practical part the influence of promotion and representation on the success of institutions and their contribution of the city is show and approached. At the end there is a comparison of findings from the theoretical part with the results of my own survey.
Organic farming as a way towards sustainable development

The aim of the thesis "Organic farming as a way towards sustainable development" is to consider whether the organic farming is a feasible mean to obtain sustainability, eventually under what conditions. In the initiatory chapters, the terms of sustainable development, its evolution, different approaches and methods of measurement, sustainable agriculture and organic farming and its principles will be defined. The core analysis will examine the organic farming from three views corresponding with the three pillars of sustainable development. Ecological aspects involve impacts of organic farming on nature; economic aspects deal with the viability of organic farm and efficiency of organic farming as a governmental tool; social viewpoint cover the ability to feed the present and future population and be a benefit in general.

The main aim of this bachelor thesis, "Environmental Friendly Behavior Tools of a Municipality", is to present a summary of environmental policy instruments with the possibility of application on a community level and to valorise a real situation in a community Český Rudolec. The theoretical, methodological part is focused on the environmental policy and on the summary of its instruments. The practical part analyses activities applied by the community in the frame of its environmental policy and seeks for prospective recommendations for a better utilisation.
Sustainable development of tourism in Karlovy Vary Region

The aim of this study is to evaluate the sustainable development of tourism in the Karlovy Vary Region. In the theoretical part the concept of sustainable development and its principles are explained and applied to the tourism industry. Then the role of some international and national institutions in promoting these principles in the Czech Republic is described. In the practical part the Karlovy Vary Region is characterized, the environment friendly forms of tourism, opportunities for their further development and support arrangements are described. In the third and fourth chapter selected indicators of sustainable development of tourism and the survey which focused on awareness of sustainable development among the population, the tourists, entrepreneurs and public administration staff are used to analyse the current state of sustainable development of tourism in the Karlovy Vary Region. For the overall evaluation the SWOT analysis is used.
Empirical findings on CSR in the Czech Republic - Comparison of statements of the Czech and international firms

This diploma thesis describes the situation of CSR in the Czech Republic, by investigating CSR statements addressed to the stakeholders of the Czech firms on their websites, and comparing them to the results of a world investigation. The theoretical part involves a definition of CSR, its history and wider context of sustainable development. It also describes the grounds of stakeholder theory and stakeholder relationship management. The practical part begins with a description of the world investigation of CSR statements, and continues with other investigations about the importance of stakeholders for the firms which were conducted in the West, and in the Middle and Eastern Europe. Researches in the Czech Republic follow. Finally, the results of this diploma thesis are introduced -- the groups of stakeholders to which Czech firms address their statements and categories of these statements. As a conclusion, recommendations for the Czech firms are formulated
Corporate Social Responsibility in Czech companies' practice

This thesis represents the complex view of the corporate social responsibility (CSR) concept and above all describes the practical use of CSR by the Czech companies. The first part contents the introduction to CSR and information concerning global and european initiatives related to CSR. The second chapter creates the fundamental part of this thesis and is focused on the situation in the Czech republic, awareness and attitude of Czech public and companies to CSR and first of all it includes the analysis of CSR practiced by Czech companies, which is based on the surveys carried out in the Czech republic in connection with this topic. The conclusions of the second chapter are consequently verified on the practical example of two companies. Here two very different companies are confronted - big company involving the foreign capital (part of foreign TNC) and small originally czech company.
