Mining XML Integrity Constraints
Fajt, Stanislav ; Nečaský, Martin (advisor) ; Svoboda, Martin (referee)
The most important integrity constraints in XML are primary keys and foreign keys. In general, keys are essential in understanding both the structure and properties of data. They provide an instrument by which va- lues from a given set of attributes uniquely identify tuples in a database. As a result, keys are important to main database operations. Since XML beco- mes lingua franca for data exchange on the web, it is widely accepted as a model of real world data. Because XML documents in general can appear in any semi-structured form, structural constraints (including keys) are often imposed on the data that are to be modified or processed These constra- ints are formally defined in a schema.Unfortunately, in spite of the obvious advantages, the presence of a schema is not mandatory and many XML do- cuments are not joined with any. Consequently, no integrity constratins are specified in those documents, neither. This thesis is mainly focused on the inference of primary and foreign keys from XML documents. 1
Tool for Collaborative XML Schema Integration
Meluzín, Jiří ; Nečaský, Martin (advisor) ; Klímek, Jakub (referee)
The aim of the thesis is to develop a technique for collaborative creation of mappings of two XML schemas. More precisely, it will support a concurrent participation of several users at the same mapping via the Web. The method will be based on current XML schema mapping techniques but will extend them with the support for collaboration. The developed technique will be implemented in a user-friendly web application. The tool will support concurrent change operations invoked by the collaborating users, their merging and/or prioritization. Moreover, it will also keep previous versions of the mapping so it will be possible to return to an arbitrary previous version.
Managing Dictionaries in XML
Michalová, Romana ; Škoda, Petr (referee) ; Smrž, Pavel (advisor)
This paper describes the system that manages XML dictionaries which are at the LMF form. The dictionaries can be accessed on the server or locally. XML BaseX stores the dictionaries and one is able to compare, show, edit or create them. XSLT is used for visualization and XPath with XQuery are used for editing, navigating and going through the XML data.
Web Site Optimisation
Petrželka, Jiří ; Burget, Radek (referee) ; Eysselt, Miloš (advisor)
This BSc Project was performed during a study stay at the Coventry University, UK. The goal of this project is to enhance the accessibility and usability of an existing company presentation located at http://www.hcc.cz, boost the site's traffic and so increase the company's revenues. The project follows these steps to accomplish this: a ) A partial refactoring of the back-end (PHP scripts). b ) Transformation of the website contents according to the recommendations of the World Wide Web consortium (W3C) and in particular to those of the Web Accessibility Initiative (WAI). c ) Application of the Search Engine Optimization (SEO) techniques and analysis of their impact. In this step, the project touches upon the Search Engine Marketing (SEM).
Interactive Visualization of XML
Onderko, Michal ; Burget, Radek (referee) ; Chmelař, Petr (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with the interactive visualization of XML and issues of working with native XML databases. It describes XML technologies, including its modes of processing, information about native XML databases, XML data visualization methods, description of XML Spark xDB implementation and testing XPath query support of this program. The last section contains a summary of the work and suggestions of possible improvements.
Interactive Visualization of XML
Albrecht, Pavel ; Stryka, Lukáš (referee) ; Chmelař, Petr (advisor)
The bachelor's thesis deals with problems of XML document visualization and its definitions. It briefly summarizes development of XML, its characteristic and syntax. The thesis reviews various solutions for XML visualization and proper development tools for this purpose. The work also describes future goals of visualization and design of possible solution. The main goal was to create a simple and well-arranged application, witch will visualize mentioned XML documents interactively.
A Component Design Framework in Nette Environment
Kvita, Michal ; Milička, Martin (referee) ; Burget, Radek (advisor)
This bachelor thesis describes the design and implementation of framework for simplification of creating, managing and using of components in Czech PHP framework Nette and its template language Latte. Project is realized as a library with help of the system of extensions in Nette. The library respectively uses markup language XML and internal configuration format of Nette called NEON. Text also contains analysis of that parts of Nette, which are relevant for this topic. Final solution is demonstrated on simple application and in conclusion future possible expansion is discussed.
Demonstration of Support for XML in Database Systems
Dvorštiak, Matej ; Fiala, Jiří (referee) ; Zendulka, Jaroslav (advisor)
This thesis is concerned with XML technologies and XML support of database systems. Especialy with Oracle database. Support is descripted in this work. Desription is aimed to an Oracle XML DB architecture, XML data type, work with XML schema, storing and quering options of XML data in Oracle database. Practical part describes aplication, demonstrates XML support for learning proposes. Theoretical and practical parts are appended with examples and pictures for better understanding of described problematic.
XML Persistence in Relational Databases
Boháč, Martin ; Kolář, Dušan (referee) ; Chmelař, Petr (advisor)
The aim of this thesis is to create a client xDB database, which supports visualization and management of XML documents and schemas. The first part deals with the introduction of XML, XML schemas (DTD, XML Schema, RelaxNG, etc.) and contextual technologies. After that the thesis deals with the problem of the XML persistence and it focuses on mapping techniques necessary for an efficient storage in a relational database. The main part is devoted to the design and implementation of client application XML Admin, which is programmed in Java. The application uses the XML:DB interface to communicate with the xDB database. It supports storing XML documents to a collection and the XPath language for querying them. The final section is devoted to application performance testing and comparison with existing native database eXist.
OLAP Reports Model Creating Based on Metadata
Franek, Zdenko ; Jirák, Ota (referee) ; Ruttkay, Ladislav (advisor)
An important part of knowledge of report creator is knowledge of database schema and database query language, from which the data for report are extracted. In the reporting services for database systems and Business Intelligence systems initiative arises to separate the position of database specialist from the position of reports maker. One of the solutions offers using metadata interlayer between the database schema and report. This interlayer is called the report model. Its use is not currently supported in the process of reporting, or is only very limited. The aim of this thesis is to suggest the possibility of using the report model in the process of building reports with an emphasis on the OLAP analysis.
