Korandová, Michaela ; Šoltys, Otakar (advisor) ; Klabíková Rábová, Tereza (referee)
Five political parties fought their way into the Parliament of the Czech Republic in the election in 2010 (they were CSSD, ODS, TOP 09, Communist Party and VV). Each had their election ad which was broadcast by television and inseparably belonged to their political campaign. An analysis of these media products is the research objective of this thesis. The aim is a semiotic analysis of individual subjects. The thesis strives for an objective description of the transfer of evidence and the construction of meaning in communication spots. The research focuses on complex communique of the clips, structure of the narratives and application of the persuasive functions. The analysis covers various semiotic systems differentiated into three areas - visual, auditory and language. Their mutual harmony, dominance and substitution are important factors in assessing the quality of a complex communique. The issue is also examined in terms of narrative of the spots, whereas the thesis contains description of both the story and the discourse level. This includes specific events and existents, types of statements and specifications for the position of the narrator. The description of the persuasive phenomena and their character is based directly on the above criteria. The paper concludes with a summary of the...

Darwin's Ontology (The Consequences of Reciprocity)
Ostdiek, Gerald Robert ; Koubová, Alice (advisor) ; Markoš, Anton (referee) ; Hvorecký, Juraj (referee)
This essay follows a path laid down by the collaboration of Charles Darwin with Chauncey Wright, so as to explore the niche subsequently developed by Wright's closest friends, especially William James and Charles Peirce. Charles Darwin offered us no definition of life, and certainly no definition of being; he seems never to have been particularly interested in either his theological studies or any of the philosophy that happened his way. However by definition, he did operate by means of - and through the agency therein - a specific ontological set. His was one wherein the quickening of life is reciprocal becoming. Despite the obvious efficacy and élan this set has offered and vast libraries devoted to the man, Darwin's Ontology remains woefully under studied. And yet Darwin did specifically engage Wright to develop philosophical considerations of his science, a study which came to demand a redefinition of thinking itself, of sapience, and of the consequences of rationality which include the various constructions we call science and religion, knowing and believing, culture and self, but also cause and effect, existence and being, and more. We will follow the various streams of influence and chart some of the confluences therein, primarily through the immediate encounter of Wright with Darwin, and then on to...

The first part gives an overview of theoretical background of studies of regional identity, identity of region and space polarisation. The second part analyzes the regional identity of the Bohemian Paradise in discussion of literature and other sources and trying to determine whether researchers and institutions think the Bohemian Paradise as peripheral region. The third part deals with analysis and interpretation of results of field research. Methodologically the thesis is based on the construction of mental maps, questionnaire inquiry and interviews.

Cost analysis of engineering structures
Klec, Martin ; Kudrna, Jan (referee) ; Výskala, Miloslav (advisor)
The thesis titled "Cost analysis of engineering structures" presents a comparison of the life cycle costs of linear structures with an asphalt surface against the life cycle cost of linear structures with a concrete surface. The thesis deals with prices, costs, calculations and budgets in its theoretical part. The following chapters present history and current status, road constructions, life cycle of the construction and differences between concrete and asphalt covering. Practical part of the thesis is divided into three parts. In each sub-section, there is a practical example of comparing the costs of the life cycle of linear structure with the asphalt surface against the costs of the life cycle of linear structure with the concrete surface. Everything is expressed in graphs.

Táborský, Ondřej ; Hlavačka, Milan (referee) ; Štaif, Jiří (advisor)
This thesis focuses on the development of the mechanism of self-government in Pardubice. The work is limited by years 1880 and 1914. The first chapter explains the political situation and demographical changes in Pardubice in the second half of the 19th century. The second chapter deals with the topic of communal elections. There have been eleven elections to the communal self-government during the tracked period. We have been able (thanks to the acquired results of the elections) to find that the electoral right has increased because of the pressure from minor political parties. Only 15% percent of inhabitants could vote the communal vestry in the prewar period because of the unfair election right. The majority of voters of the first congregation was represented by the members of the so called "honoration". The third chapter has shown the changes in the social structure of the self government of Pardubice. Comparatively stable and active component were the members of the artes liberales. The highest increase in the number of representatives was in the state bureaucracy. The fourth part focuses on the political development in the field of struggle for the directorial positions in the municipality. The fifth part deals with management of local self goverment of Pardubice and construction of the modern...

Časový průběh procesů v aktuátorech pracujících na principu termoelasticity
Beneš, K. ; Dvořák, P. ; Ulrych, B. ; Doležel, Ivo
Linear electromagnetic actuators may transform electromagnetic energy into kinetic energy of straightforward moving part (plunger) in several ways. One of them is conversion of heat produced by eddy currents in a metal membrane to its deformation, which brings about pressure on the plunger. The paper presents a fundamental study of device working on principle and deals with its construction, operation parameters and optimisation.

Součková, Denisa ; Oehm, Jaroslav (advisor) ; Horáček, Vít (referee)
52 Résumé (English) Thesis title: Unit Owners Community as a subject of Law by Denisa Součková Housing rights and housing politics belong to frequently accentuated topics of general discussion of today. Without question, ownership stands to be a private issue, although its legal regulation is commonly entrusted to the standard means and norms of private law, such as the Civil Code; furthermore, to the rules of public law, be it the Building and Construction Law or the Land Registration Law, tax and accounting standards or remedial law norms. The thesis' primary objective is to focus on the law No. 90/1995 Coll., the Law of Apartment Ownership (hereinafter referred to as LAO), and most importantly, on the legal person created under authority thereof - Unit Owners Community (UOC). LAO codifies mainly building co- ownership relations, apartment and non-residential premises ownership bearings, referred to as units located in a building, which are the subject of civil relations. Owners of residential or non-residential units execute their rights and duties to the circulating areas or co-habited premises within the building by means of Unit Owners Community, a legal person, which according to the enforceable legal regulations comes to inception directly through meeting the LAO conditions, without the necessity of...

Credit risk
Šťástková, Monika ; Zichová, Jitka (referee) ; Hurt, Jan (advisor)
This thesis is concerned in credit risk modelling, especially the default probability and time to default variable. It deals with two commonly used methods to figure out the term structure of default probability. The first one is based on credit migration. It is assumed that the credit migration process follows a time homogeneous Markov chain. To test the assumption of time homogeneity two test statistics are proposed in the thesis. The later method for establishing the term structure of the default probability uses the fact, that estimation of credit curve is analogous to a construction of the yield curves. So Nelson-Siegel function can be used for this aim. Then the model for the time to default is described. It is based on the theory of random censorship. Some of these methods are illustrated on real data.
