Financial evaluating of industrial investment
Konieczny, Janusz ; Sieber, Martina (advisor) ; Vávrová, Hana (referee)
The main goal of my thesis is to evaluate industrial investment in the field of metallurgical basic industry. It is extrafurnace desulfurization of pig iron as a interface in the three-chain : production of pig iron - desulfurization - steel manufacture. There is a capital project in the metallurgical concern Třinecké železárny, a.s. in Třinec, in the year of 2008, financed from internal resources. Investment effect is calculated only from the cash-flows, investment acquisition is expressed simplifiedly by the reduction of operating costs. There are positive findings, which are based on calculation of investment criterions. The investment of desulfurization is very modern and effective and has a very low economic return.

Jůza, Štěpán ; Uher, Pavel (referee) ; Rubina, Aleš (advisor)
Masters degree thesis with name “Air flow in closed space” in teoretical part describes air flow. Defined here basic types of flow including the flow in a closed space and the methods for the description of the air flow. The practical part deals with project eva-luation distribution of air conditioning system using CFD model. Next solves a second variant of air distribution and compare the changes that have occurred. The end of the practical part approaching the possibility of using CFD model for creating the quality environment maps and the possibility to create variants of calculating with changing levels of the supply air.

Diploma thesis deals with the assessment of runoff conditions on the water flow Luha in the river kilometer 8,120 – 13,900. The river flows in the urban area of Polom and undeveloped area of Polom and Heřmanice. The thesis is focused on an assessment of the condition of the riverbed, capacity of the river and on design of a flood protection. The thesis includes an assessment of the condition of fishponds. The assessment is based on personal visit and photos taken as record. Program HEC-RAS was used to calculate the water levels. The outcome is an evaluation of the river condition according to a method HEM and design of the flood protection.

FE modelling of the influence of the lamina propria properties on the vocal folds vibration and produced sound for specific Czech vowels
Hájek, P. ; Švancara, P. ; Horáček, Jaromír ; Švec, J.G.
The developed two-dimensional finite element model of the flow-induced self-oscillation of the human vocal folds is used for solving fluid-structure-acoustic interaction occurring during phonation. The aim is to nalyze the influence of stiffness of superficial lamina propria on vocal folds vibration considering vocal tracts shaped for the vowels [i:] and [u:].

The capital controls and their impact in the short and long term
Papežík, Ondřej ; Šíma, Ondřej (advisor) ; Pour, Jiří (referee)
The present thesis analyzes the application of capital controls and their impact on the economy in the short and long term. These regulatory measures have gone through many periods and opinions in which they were considered as both positive and negative instrument not only of monetary policy. Global financial crisis of 2008 has again raised a lot of questions dealing with this topic. Capital controls may help ease the acute problems associated with inflows or outflows in the short term but they will not solve the issue of the country's susceptibility to movements of primarily debt capital. Long-term capital closeness (whether in terms of export or import) may causes, inter alia, the excessive accumulation of savings in the domestic closed economy or lack of capital for economic development. Therefore, when applying capital controls it is also necessary to improve the country's institutional quality which proved to be an important determinant of capital flows.

SPECT regional cerebral blood flow in diferential diagnosis of dementias.
Švehlová, Dana ; Lang, Otto (advisor)
To assess the importance of testing single-photon emission computed tomography (SPECT ) of the brain in patients with cognitive disorders, a retrospective Data analysis examined patients over four years to compare the clinical diagnosis conclusions SPECT brain. Of 33 patients with clinically probable Alzheimer's disease ( AD ) had 87 % brain SPECT image of AD , half of them was present finding of mixed dementia ( MIX) . U 13 with mild cognitive impairment (MCI) were found heterogeneous patterns of brain perfusion matching mixed population of individuals with MCI and their significance can be evaluated only after a longer interval . In the next phase we test the hypothesis of hypoperfusion in the cingulate gyrus posterior patients with MCI (4 ) could be a promising marker for early detection of AD in a heterogeneous group of these patients. We performed measurements of regional perfusion in the posterior cingulate gyrus in the 10 AD patients , a 7 patients with MCI and 6 standard. Low perfusion in this field has been demonstrated in patients with AD . Keywords : 99mTc - HMPAO SPECT brain , dementia , cognitive disorders , Alzheimer's disease

New Approaches in Numerical Aeroelasticity Applied in Aerodynamic Optimization of Elastic Wing

On the boundary conditions in the numerical simulation of stably stratified fluids flows
Bodnár, Tomáš ; Fraunié, P.
This paper presents the results of a numerical study of the stably stratified flow over a low smooth hill. The emphasize is on certain problems related to artificial boundary conditions used in the numerical simulations. The numerical results of three-dimensional simulations are shown for a range of Froude and Reynolds numbers in order to demonstrate the varying importance of these boundary issues in different flow regimes. The simulations were performed using the Boussinesq approximation model solved by a high-resolution numerical code. The in-house developed code is based on compact finite-difference discretization in space and Strong Stability Preserving Runge-Kutta time integration.
