Shared Economy in the 21st Century
LUKSCH, Matěj
This Bachelor's thesis focuses on the issue of the interdependence of the sharing economy and circular economy in the capital city of Prague. The goal of the thesis is to identify problematic areas of circular economy in Prague and to find possibilities of waste reduction in these areas with the support of sharing economy. Material flow analysis showing resource flows across those areas is used to determine the materials used and the amount of waste produced. Based on the material flow analysis, significant impact areas are identified and as such have the greatest economic, social and environmental transformation potential. The main types of data sources include literature, studies, databases of the Czech Statistical Office and waste management information system. According to the results, the contribution and efficiency of the sharing economy for the circular economy in Prague is evaluated.
The Principles of Circular Economy in a Technical Services Company
STUCHLÍKOVÁ, Zuzana
The bachelor thesis deals with the principles of circular economicy in a technical services company. The theoretical part will explain the difference between circular economy and linear economy. Next the principles of circular economy and its benefits will be introduced. After that the thesis explains what innovation is and introduces its different types. It also shows the successes of Czech companies in innovation. In the practical part there will be an introduction of the company. A financial analysis based on the balance sheet and income statement will be performed. Then this will be compared with other financial analysis of companies with respect to the ownership situation. Either the owner is only a city or partly a city and a company. The aim of the practical part is to find out how the company currently handles waste and to recommend possible solutions to improve this system with respect to the environment. The detected state will serve as a basis for finding opportunities for improvement. In particular, the thesis works with the possibility of introducing the 3R principle, that means reduce, reuse and recycle. It can be expected that the introduction of this principle in particular will lead to an improvement of the impact of the company's waste management on the environment. Finally, the work should serve as a possible guide for the technical services company to improve environmental sustainability.

Volumetric Method for the Determining kg CO2 eq. and Energy Requirements for the Production of Power Tools at an Early Stage of Product Design
Risk Assessment of Textile Waste Management
Šindlerová, Vanesa ; Vymazal, Tomáš (referee) ; Hrabová, Kristýna (advisor)
This thesis deals with environmental risks arising from textile waste management. The introduction describes the context of textile problematics and maps the current situation of textile waste management. The main goal of this thesis is to determinate the environmental risks of low percentage of recycling. Recycling is one way of dealing with textile that mitigates the impact on the environment. For the evaluation of the causes and consequences of the researched problem are used Bow-tie analysis and Ishikawa’s diagram. The results of the work bring environmental risks resulting from the application of those selected methods. Part of the thesis is a questionnaire that evaluates the individual’s attitude to textiles. Results of the questionnaire reveals that not needed textiles are perceived as risk to the environment. At the same time, consumer behavior does not correspond with efforts to mitigate the identified impacts.

Pre-loved: vintage shops as an alternative to fast fashion
Borisova, Varvara ; Abu Ghosh, Yasar (advisor) ; Sosna, Daniel (referee)
"Pre-loved: vintage shops as an alternative to fast fashion" Mgr. Varvara Borisova Supervisor: Mgr. Yasar Abu Ghosh, Ph.D. Abstract Thrifting has long been perceived as a matter of nonconformists, eccentric artists, and people with limited budgets. However, the consumerist philosophy of so-called fast fashion which is driven by the ever-changing trends and the impact of the fashion industry on environment and global labor market has become a reason for many customers to find a greener and more ethical way to supply their wardrobes. While some of us gave up shopping at all, fashion gurus turned their attention to secondhand clothes: thrift shops changed to vintage boutiques and used garments became known as "pre-loved". This thesis aims to analyze practices which owners of Czech secondhand and vintage shops use to create value, understand the obsession by things from the 20th century and focus on the role of such stores in the development of sustainable fashion in the Czech Republic. Key words: vintage, thrift, theory of value, fast fashion, nostalgia, sustainability, material culture

Leová, Leona ; Rynda, Ivan (advisor) ; Milerová Prášková, Dagmar (referee)
The diploma thesis deals with the concept of circular economy (hereinafter CE) and its application in several Czech and one multinational company. On these specific examples of companies, the work shows how circularity is achieved, with all the essentials of this fact, what support for the concept is offered in the Czech Republic and, last but not least, what obstacles and problems the companies face. Along with this practical experience, opinions by theoretical experts who deal with the issue in their profession are further examined. The aim of the work was to map the matter of use of secondary raw materials and other principles of CE in both practical and theoretical spheres of knowledge, and where possible, to compare these two views. Furthermore, the work focuses on the benefits of real use of the principles of CE in the Czech conditions from an environmental point of view. In its theoretical part, it first addresses the issue of waste in general, especially from the perspective of a global problem. It presents the development, current situation and forecast of the size of waste generation, including its impacts. Furthermore, it has introduced the concept of CE, its various concepts and definitions, together with the main principles. Subsequently, it presents the real adoption of the concept by...
