The first half of the work deals with the theoretical description and explanation of the terms associated with the project, risk and risk management in construction companies. After the theoretical introduction follows a demonstration on the practical example, namely JAMU - musical drama laboratory, Brno realized by Unistav Construction Inc.

Risk analysis of load bearing RC structure review

Master thesis deals with the evaluation of risks in the course of strengthening reinforced concrete column. It describes the assessment of existing structures according to ISO 13822, discusses the dangers that can occur when determining the carrying capacity of the existing structure. It also describes the different phases of strengthening steel banding, their functions and influence on the overall capacity. Also showing calculation process of strengthening reinforced concrete column, using steel banding, based on standard EN 1992-1-1 and EN 1998-3. In a concrete example of reinforcement is shown a process for determining the carrying capacity and then designed to the increase. In the two examples performs risk analysis using the universal matrix of risk analysis that identifies and quantifies the importance of various hazards associated with the calculation and implementation of the project.

Master´s thesis deals with the evaluation of existing structures according to ISO 13822, discusses the dangers that can in determining the reliability of existing structures occur. This standard shall consider the risks by analyzing the possible occurrence and impact of defects (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis). In a concrete example shows a process for determining the reliability and suggest the increase. On a practical example I use a universal risk analysis matrix (Universal Matrix of Risk Analysis) with, identify and quantify the significance of the various dangers associated with project implementation.

I Live Tarot

Private deck of cards created during six-month survey and documentation of daily experiences. The package contains 49 cards and it is inspired by a set of 78 tarot cards. Text content - reverse side of the card was created using diary notes. Face side of the card was chosen as a representation of processes taking place usually in days when the card was read.

Monitoring of hazardous environment

Diploma thesis Monitoring of hazardous environment deals with possibilities of construction of monitoring device for the nuclear power station Temelín. In the first part are accurate requirements for monitoring device, individual risks and identify obstacles and opportunities how to overcome them. There is also description of basic options for measuring temperature and environmental monitoring. Using multi-criteria analysis was done the selection of all components, from which is possibility to construct the first development release of monitoring device. 3D models for each component and the overall design visualization facilities were created in the programming environment of Autodesk Inventor. The conclusion provides an overview of the financial cost of the equipment is assembled

This diploma thesis is focused on the selection of a suitable Occupational Health and Safety management system as a part of the “Integrated Management System”, and practical implementation into the business. The current occupational health and safety management system is reviewed and compared with requirements in the OHSAS technical specification. The hazard identification and evaluate risks for the chosen workplace of the business is performed and corrective action are suggested.

The subject of this thesis is risk management in construction companies. The theoretical part describes the origin and definition of risk, risk classification, sources and methods of risk management and risk reduction. The practical part is focused on a particular contract, in the particular construction company. This project presents a practical approach and risk management solutions with suggestions for preventive measures to eliminate risk factors.
