The optimal conditions for modification of ceramic support using the PAC and the optimal conditions for slip-casting support design were proposed and experimentally verified. The second part of the work deals with the synthesis of boro-silicalite glass. The characterization of the supports by SEM, mercury porosimetry and by permeation measurements are discussed.

The potential of deep seabed polymetallic nodules
Tormová, Lucia ; Dvořák, Antonín (advisor) ; Hadrabová, Alena (referee)
The deep seabed polymetallic nodules are one the major types of deep-sea ore resources. Oceanic deposits of these raw materials represent a potential source of numerous metals that are in short supply on the land-base deposits at the nearest future. The process of geological survey to the deep ocean floor is considered to be an onset of a quantitatively new stage in the process of mineral resource extraction. Continuation of the on-going work on polymetallic nodule deposits within the Clarion-Clipperton Zone is regarded as a serious task to be undertaken over a period until the year 2025, with a due consideration to advance in designing of an efficient mining unit and application of modern processing technologies for extraction of major metals : manganese, nickel, cobalt and copper. A prerequisite of a rational management of oceanic resources is the preservation of natural oceanic environment. Considered is the extraction's profitability of a concrete deposit within the Clarion-Clipperton Zone, which is the exploration area of the IOM, with annual production scale of 2.2 Mt of wet nodules for the year 2025.

Súčasné prístupy k nákladovej alokácii a vývoj typizovaného programového rozhrania v nástroji IBM Cognos TM1
Fedoročko, Peter ; Pour, Jan (advisor) ; Bothe, Ondřej (referee)
Thesis is devoted to current trends in approaching cost allocation developed in IBM Cognos TM1 software. Concept, which was originally elaborated in my bachelor thesis, has recently experienced restrictions caused by increasing requirements on analytical tools and information they provide. Goal of the thesis is therefore to analyse causalities of emerging weaknesses, design and develop optimalized and reengineered solution answering current demands. Reqarding the quantitative evaluation of attained results, the thesis is extended with analysis of frameworks and standards dedicated to benchmarking of OLAP tools and their synthesis into own complex model. Proposed model specializes on measuring multiple OLAP applications across four main perspectives including performance, development, usability and financial benefits. Attained results prove, that reengineered model is faster, data richer, easier to use and appropriate for any organization with structured and algorithmic approach to cost allocation. Second half of the thesis focuses on extending the presentation layer to web browser, designing and developing of custom visualizations for most usual analytic tasks. Considering the absence of advanced application interface in IBM Cognos TM1, the thesis also includes theoretical analysis of current trends in API development and design of concept allowing communication and data transportation between applications and TM1 server. In the concluding section of the thesis, proposed concept is materialized into universal library developed in PHP and applied to novel allocation model. Leveraging the library, two exemplary interfaces for allocator operation and data consumption are implemented. Gained knowledge can serve as basis for development of additional components communicationg with TM1 in variety of projects or theoretical framework for API implementation in general.

Synthesis of novel cardioprotective iron chelators
Hrušková, Kateřina ; Roh, Jaroslav (referee) ; Vávrová, Kateřina (advisor)
Oxidative stress participates in patophysiology of many serious cardiovascular diseases. Free intracellular iron occurs as a catalyst of Haber-Weiss and Fenton reaction between superoxides and peroxides increasing the formation of highly toxic hydroxyl radicals, which cause cell damage. Iron chelators diminish the pool of free iron and thus become perspective agents in therapy of various diseases, e.g. anthracycline-induced cardiotoxicity. Aroylhydrazones group, such as salicylaldehyde-isonicotinoylhydrazone (SIH), appear to be highly efficient chelators. Unfortunately, pharmacokinetic studies focused on these compounds revealed their low stability in plasma. Therefore, I synthesised a series of SIH analogs in order to increase their stability together with preserving the ability to chelate free intracellular iron and to define their structure-activity relationships. A basic hypothesis in design of the novel chelators was using substituted ketone instead of aldehyde, leading potentially to an enhanced stability of hydrazone bond. SIH Two different methods were used during the reactions, a conventional heating in an oil bath and heating in a microwave reactor. The latter caused a significant shortening of the reaction time. In vitro studies of novel compounds showed their higher stability in plasma,...

Building trust in virtual teams through communication
Štádlerová, Michaela ; Klas, Jan (advisor) ; Jura, Jiří (referee)
The main objective of this thesis is to propose the model of trust based on communication. The objective is to first characterize virtual teams, summarized the theoretical approaches to trust in virtual teams, define the specifics of the communication process in virtual teams and design own model of trust based on communication. The proposed model is achieved on the basis of own research specifically: analysis, synthesis and detailed summary. The summary includes limitations of particular papers and weaknesses of research, what is taken into the consideration for the proposed model. The proposed model is based on the active form of trust that is build on proactive approach of team leader in the first phase of virtual team's life cycle and later on communication strategies through dialogue technique leading to shared mental models. The proposed model describes the process of building trust in first two stages of the virtual team's life cycle together with the implications for the leader: How to build trust in virtual teams through the communication.

Painterly animation synthesis
Psotka, František ; Maršálek, Lukáš (referee) ; Pelikán, Josef (advisor)
In this work I study painterly animation synthesis using simulated brush strokes. Painterly animation, as a new artistic form, gives the animator new space and freedom. The aim of the project is to design a framework which could solve this complex task - to put together both the exibility and simplicity with user comfort. This framework should be helpful in further research of artistic and technical potential of painterly animation. Implementation the method of Barbara Meier [4] within this framework results in the application which provides a possibility of creating attractive pieces in brushwork even for less experienced animators.
