The process of compilation and accepting of the civil code during the Meiji period

This work concerns itselť with o ne oť the aspects oť the modernization oť Japan during the Meiji Era (1868-1912), the establishment oť a Civil Code based on western lega! princip les, in a broad context oť the historical and socio-political situation of the said period. First, it explores the state oť lega! knowledge in Japan at the end of the previous historical period, the Tokugawa Era. As a result of the development during the centuries prior to that, it may be said that the Japanese view oť law became to be such that the law was overshadowed by the traditional pattern oť a rigid social structure, preferring over law the mutual relations among the people living in such a system. Being ťorced to cancel her isolation policy by an extensive outside pressure ťrom the worlďs powers, Japan starts to strive for a general modernization. The s o called U nequal treaties established in the last years of the rule oť the Tokugawa shogunate between Japan and several countries set it to an inferior position, and this situation continued unchanged in the ťollowing Meiji period. One of the prerequisites for the revision of these treaties was the establishment of a western-like lega! system with the Civil Code as one oť the important Codes of Law. Domestic Violance and NGOs Dealing With This Problem

This master's thesis is concerned with domestic violence against women. After an introduction to the concept of domestic violence and its forms, the thesis presents the approach of the Police of the Czech Republic to this issue and its practical involvement. At the same time it gives an overview of domestic violence oriented NGOs and analyses their activities according to the specific criteria designed for this purpose by the author of the thesis. Finally, it evaluates the present situation in the fight against domestic violence in the Czech Republic.

The comparison of a traditional shop and an e-shop

The aim of thesis is to evaluate in the same steps of the shopping procedure whether the trade, either traditional or electronic, can get the same level of customer support in the implementation of the buying process. To achieve this goal a set of criteria has been prepared, by which the selected traditional shop and e-shop are assessed and compared. The first and the second part of the thesis focus on the characteristics of the traditional and electronic trade, the procedure of shopping in both and the support requirements in this procedure. These requirements are based on usability, accessibility and other aspects related to the shopping procedure. The third part explains the method of evaluating transactions in accordance with the criteria and an assessment and comparison of the selected store and e-shop carried out subsequently. In the conclusion the suggested recommendations based on the recorded results for each trade are indicated. These could lead to a better level of customer support in the implementation of the buying process in that particular store.

The Management of Credit Risk SME Segment

Diploma thesis Credit risk management of SME segment is engaged in the credit process in the segment of entrepreneurs and small business owners, and also part of the segment of the public and nonprofit sectors in an existing bank operating in the Czech market. In the theoretical part there are defined basic approaches in bank risk management and their divisions. Follows overview of the different approaches. Another part is more detail devoted to credit risk. Credit risk is then solved by the credit case, incl. analysis of the credit approval process. Emphasis is also placed on the rating process by which the credit approval begins and ends. The practical part of the work is focused on the analysis of product portfolio of the bank. The work deals with various credit products of the banks in this segment, in terms of supportability, delinquency, and overall risk. The second part is an analysis of the portfolio in terms of individual sectors, where are evaluated selected risky and less risky sectors.

Comparison of the Main and Special Services Productivity of the TNT Express Worldwide Limited Company

Práce se zabývá srovnáním výnosnoti hlavních a speciálních služeb TNT Express, spol. s r.o. Analyzuje stanovení jednotkových nákladů a proces alokace společných nákladů na jednotlivé produkty. Pomocí analýzy tak dochází ke srovnání výnosnosti na úrovni Direct Margin a EBIT. Na zakladě výsledků těchto ukazatelů se také často profilují služby vůči zákazníkům.

Determinanty cen léků na předpis v České republice

This master thesis analyses factors that determine the prices of prescription medicine. The theoretical part is outlining the fundamentals of pharmaceutical market, identifying the main price components and determinants with main focus on pricing and reimbursement policies in the world. The empirical part is dedicated to the pharmaceutical market in the Czech Republic. It explores the impact of state regulatory measures such as internal and external reference pricing on the prescription medicine prices. A regression analysis was conducted to determine what factors have significant impact on the prices. Furthermore a t-test was performed to discover differences in price levels between regulated and unregulated drugs as well as between originator medicine and generics.

Community based approaches to development of municipalities

The main aim of the thesis Community based approaches to development of municipalities is to evaluate the extent and quality of the use of community and participatory approaches to planning of development in the current decision-making at the local level. The first part focuses on the introduction of the theoretical concepts whose real application is shown on practical examples of Czech and foreign experience. Community methods do not have a long tradition in the Czech Republic and the transfer of the experience from the western world allows a further development in this area. The second part of the thesis is focused on participatory approaches in more detail, known and most commonly used methods of public involvement in planning and decision making, describes a participatory process, its troubles and problematical points. There is a case study included in the thesis focused on evaluation of the approach of the Prague 10 municipality to engage the population, its impact and consequences.

The possibilities of transformation of Prague panel housing estates in order to enhance quality of residential environment

The thesis aims to introduce the problem of panel housing estates in the Czech Republic, to evaluate the development policy of these areas and to suggest the possibilities of transformation of Prague panel housing estates in order to enhance quality of residential environment. In the Czech Republic lives a substantial part of the population in the panel housing estates and their degradation is a real threat that could lead to the decline of entire cities. About 40% of Prague's residents live in housing estates, which are an indispensable part of urban structure of the capital city, and therefore the thesis focuses on Prague's housing estates. Through a literature research the theoretical part deals in major with the circumstances of creation and specifics of Czech panel housing with focus on the Prague housing estates. The theoretical part concludes that the future of housing estates will depend on the attitude of public authorities and its residents as we cannot rely on the fact that leaving housing estates their own development will not lead to their degradation. The practical part aims to introduce national and local key documents and programs, which involve housing estates transformation issues and assesses their importance and contribution to the transformation process itself. Further, there are introduced examples of foreign and Czech transformations and using SWOT analysis there is assessed the potential usability of these measures in the transformation of Prague housing estates. The end of practical part performs a synthesis of previous findings and suggests the possibilities of transformation of Prague panel housing estates, which should increase the quality of the residential environment. The draft of conception can serve as a basis for planning the estates transformation process at the Prague city districts.

Hodnocení konvergence české ekonomiky k ekonomikám EU 15

Práce analyzuje proces reálné konvergence české ekonomiky k průměrné úrovni ekonomik EU 15 v letech 1999 až 2005 na základě vzájemně srovnatelných kriterií výkonnosti. Analýza změn vzájemných relací ve výkonnosti jednotlivých států EU 25 potvrzuje, že česká ekonomika co do výkonnosti dohání ekonomiky vyspělejší, ale její náskok před ekonomikami zaostalejšími se snižuje. Z výsledků hierarchické shlukové analýzy vyplývají změny v charakteru podobnosti ekonomik mezi lety 1999 a 2005.

Public procurement practise in the Czech republic

The thesis is focused on the procurement process in the Czech Republic from the perspective of the contracting authority and analyzes legislation in the field of public procurement, understandable definition of certain institutes in the field and evaluation of individual species and tender procedures. The aim is to bring the very essence of a procurement process at the local government level. The theoretical part explains the most important legal concepts and basic principles of contracting procedures. Furthermore chronologically describes the whole procurement process, including analysis of partial processes for selected types of procurement procedures. Results of the work is devoted to the questionnaire survey and controlled interview.
