Product photography as a marketing tool

The aim of this bachelor's thesis "Product photography as a marketing tool" is to point out the fact that the perfect product photography attract attention and that they are many times the reason for buying the product itself. Oftentimes it is not about theconsumers' ownership needs, but about their various emotional aspects and the fact that people generally like to identify themselves either with their idols, or with the vision of being better. Consumersthus leave themselves easily manipulated by it and variety of marketing agencies take advantages of it. However, hardly anybody realize that the final photography is the result of several hours of carefully thought work. Although, what is important is that the product photography is from the very beginning created with the aim to attract and sell. Due to this fact I look at the product photography as an marketing hence communication tool whose main task is to evoke emotions. Next aim of this thesis is the public survey which is to reveal how the consumers perceive and see product photography. In the practical part of this thesis I focus on the actual taking of advertising photography from four areas that are most close to me. Then I create a fictitious order to create a cover for D&D magazine and get the feedbacks through the questionnaire and from a professional itself -- the photographer.
The phenomenon of motion in photography

The purpose of this thesis is to explore distinct techniques of capturing motion in still and animated photography. It also concentrates on describing the history, types and use of stop motion animation in the field of movie production, music, computer games and marketing communication. Practical part deals with the production process of short stop motion animations and its implementation to the communication strategy of a bachelor project called Kapustové Zelí.
Development of photography and significance of contemporary photojournalism and documentary photography

This Master's Thesis is focused on evolution of photography with focus on photojournalism and documentary photography and aims to prove that this genre, though it may seem that it's currently on the decline, is still important. The theoretical part contains general history and definition of photography, pointing out the relationship between photography and art and describes the most important theories of aesthetics of photography. Then the work is focused purely on photojournalism and documentary photography. It describes the relationship and the difference between these genres. Further the thesis is focused on the ethics of photography and manipulation of images. The practical section consists of analysis of technical requirements on photo equipment with regard to individual areas of photojournalism and documentary photography. The following part contains practical examples based on author's experience and the work concludes with compilation of several Czech photographers' answers to questions about photojournalism and documentary photography.
Digital photography post-production and its purpose in commercial sphere

Objective of this thesis is to define Photography Postproduction and present specific techniques of editing commercial photographs. Theoretical part is focused on the clarification of expression Photography Postproduction itself, it's understanding in the past and mainly actual application in distinct areas of commercial field. Practical part of this document elaborates on an implementation of digital composite. In separate steps are described different processes and reasons of their application. In addition, practical abstracts are included in form of photographs and videos, amending to the explanation of the techniques used. This assignment assume that a reader has basic understanding of a employed softwares, specifically Adobe Lightroom and Adobe Photoshop.
The process of preparing photographic data for the presentation of commercial goods

In this thesis I describe and analyze the process behind creating commercial photographs. The theoretical part overviews the basic terms of digital and analogue graphics, the most frequent forms of its distribution and the necessary requirements connected with creating it. Furthermore, the process model of preparing photographic data is analyzed, including the description of the different phases of the process and the benefits of dividing the process in phases. The practical part focuses on putting the model into practice and making sure all the criteria briefed by a client are respected in the final outcome.

The aim of this thesis is to describe selected modern trends in photography and show their impact on society. The thesis describes the history of photography, sorting of digital cameras, and selected trends such as DSLR, mobile phones, selfie phenomenon, Polaroid, Lytro and aerial photography. In each trend there will be examples, users and financial demands.
Genesis of portrait: The study of family members and transformation of interpretation of family portrait

Václav Švadlena, thesis consists of two parts, the theoretical and the practical one. The theoretical part deals with the portrait its history, forms of portraiture and the gradual transition from painting to photography. The theoretical work contains chapters devoted to the authors: Francisco Goya and Alberto Giacometti. The practical part contains a set of sketches in the form of artist´s books exploring family genetic markers. I tis supplemented by the cycle of portraits the tetraptych of large-scale drawings. The aim is to inform about the phenomenon of a portrait, to create the artist´s books of sketches and a set of large drawings family portraits.

Marie Kokešova Šechtlova, the feminine element in four generations of photographic studio Šechtl and Voseček in Tabor This thesis examines photographic work of Marie Šechtlova, who had been one of the significant Czech female artists from 1960's onwards. In the beginning of this thesis, the history of Šechtl and Voseček studio is outlined. Marie Šechtlova got into this environment through marrying Šechtl. The environment had been influential for her. The following part of my thesis studies the cooperation of Marie Šechtlova and her husband, finding this phase to have been an important moment of her artistic work. In the main body of this thesis, two major aspects of Šechtlova's work are examined. The photographer is portrayed as using the Brussels style of photography, which captures the poetry of mundane. Further on, she is also portrayed as a pioneer of colour photographer and an illustrator of literary work, especially poetry. Jan Noha's extraordinary verses were inspired by Šechtlova's photography. In return, she was illustrating his poetry collections and their collaboration had been outstandingly creative. The final part of this thesis compares Šechtlova's work with the work of other Czech female photographers of her time, such as Dagmar Hochova, Emily Medkova, Eva Fukova or Běla Kolařova, who were working mostly in the environment of Prague.
Using photography in promotion in tourism

Main goal of this document is to rate photographs in promotional materials of the tourism regions of the Czech republic. Other goal of this document is to show if graphical form of promotional materials influences decision making of visitors of any particular region.The theoretical part describes short history of photography, promotion and tourism in the Czech Republic. The practical part consist of researching photographs in selected promotional materials of the tourism regions according to picked criteria. The second practical part is focused on testing of influence of photographs on participants of tourism.
The Depiction of Fallacies in Photography

This paper provides an overview of art production where the presence of a fallacy plays a key role. Here, the term fallacy represents a wide range of illusory constructions regardless of the medium used, with the exception of digitally manipulated work. The main attention is focused on the those kinds of manifestations present in the medium of photography. Classifying each method according to the nature of the illusion, allows me to identify the characteristic features of each particular category, and what is it's impact on the viewer. Manipulation of our perception is achieved by various technical means. Readers of this paper will be offered an explanation of what fallacies are, how they occur, and what part they might play in the wider context of the artistic expression.
