Trunk ortheses and their application in the treatment of scoliosis
Čáková, Marcela ; Šamánková, Marie (advisor) ; Vyskočil, Tomáš (referee)
People with the spinal column deformity are first time mentioned already in the times of ancient civilizations, about 3500 years' BC. Those people were mostly proscribed from the common society. Hippocrates was the first who described scoliosis as an illness. The scoliosis is a pathological space curvature of the spine to right or left side in the frontal plane. It is very often accompanied with the rotation of vertebras. Structural scoliosis is a fixed lateral (sideway) curve of the spine. It is conditioned by structural changes of the vertebras body, its rotation and the vertebras parts asymmetry. Nonstructural scoliosis hasn't got anatomical basis of its origin in the spine itself. The vertebras aren't deformed. It's caused by underlying condition such as difference in leg length. Treatment of scoliosis is often provided by conservative methods such as body brace and rehabilitation. If there is a high progression of scoliosis curve - an operative treatment is indicated. I've made a survey in the subject of "spinal braces and their use in scoliosis treatment." I've been visiting a working place where the spinal braces are made. They allowed me to communicate with patients. I've prepared a questionnaire which included seventeen questions. Thanks to it I've discovered that most of the respondents are women...

Preventing socially pathological phenomena on the local level
MICHALÍK, Ladislav
Appearance of pathological behaviour in children and youngsters is considered in our society as one of the delicate subjects of our time. In my bachelor thesis I have focused on the issue and existence of these unwanted phenomena. Due to my profession the place of my study I have chosen is Český Krumlov. The aim of my research was detection of the pathological behaviour in Český Krumlov and analysis and development of the system of prevention of these phenomena (including institutions that participate on preventive conditions, creation of preventive programs and their realization, accessibility and collaboration of institutions that work together). My bachelor thesis is divided into eight chapters. The first theoretical part is concentrating on definitions of the basic terms - social norms, social deviations, sanctions, control and socially pathological phenomena. The second part lists and describes in detail different types of pathological behaviour. The third part is dedicated to causes of this behaviour and possibilities of prevention. The fourth presents the goals of practical work where the questions and the procedure of the research are fixed. The fifth shows the result of the research. The sixth is discussion about the discovered data thanks to which the pathological phenomena was found and about the ways how to prevent them. Each participant develops program of activities that help in this matter. The seventh chapter is conclusion where different possibilities of how to prevent the pathological behaviour, requirements and possible solutions are enumerated. The eighth lists all the resources. During the research some deficiencies were discovered. There are precisely two areas where the improvement is necessary. First the education of workers who help with the prevention and the second is the system of financing from the state and european resources. The results of my bachelor work map the current situation of the presence of pathological behaviour phenomenon in Český Krumlov and can be used as a basis for further research in this area.

PELECHOVÁ, Kateřina
Non-drug addictions are part of us, including children and youth. It is important to realize that non-drug addictions influence us and are underestimated despite their seriousness. They constitute serious social-pathological phenomenon of the present. This Bachelor Thesis deals particularly with prevention and the present situation of socially undesired behaviour that is very widespread in current society. With pathological gambling, mobile phone addiction, virtual addictions, alimentary disorders and sect addiction. The goal of the research was to map the representation of individual phenomena of risk-loaded behaviour within primary prevention in schools and school institutions and to assess the efficiency of the prevention applied in the area of non-drug addictions. The goal of the Thesis was met. I came to the following conclusions through my research: Hypothesis 1: The issue of virtual addictions is insufficiently represented in primary prevention as against prevention of drug addictions, was confirmed. Hypothesis 2: Primary prevention of non-drug addictions is inefficient in schools and school institutions, was confirmed. The introduction of the theoretical part deals with several basic concepts; then it characterizes individual non-drug addictions. The conclusion of the theoretical part deals with prevention, particularly primary prevention and the system of organization and direction of primary prevention of socially pathological phenomena in pupils. I used quantitative research to process the practical part, and questionnaire technique to collect data. I performed questionnaire investigation in 2nd classes of a grammar school, a secondary school and a training institution of České Budějovice. The research set consisted of 73 respondents. The practical part of my Thesis deals particularly with the analysis of the experiences of the respondents with socially undesirable behaviour and timely primary prevention in schools with regard to individual kinds of socially undesirable behaviour.

Learning the art of being
SEDLÁKOVÁ, Tereza
Self-concept is one of the most important parts of our personality. It includes our self-perception, self-evaluating, emotional aspect of our personality and our will. Its development influences the development of our personality, so probably it can prevent some pathological phenomenon in the society. Progress of our self-concept is the ongoing - life process. The school is one of the most important factors which influence this process. First of all I summarized psychological theories of self- concept in the theoretical part of this work. Afterward I concerned myself with regulations of the Czech educational system. I tried to find out how the work on developing self - concept of pupils is included. In the practical part of my work I observe how Czech teachers care about self- concept of their pupils, what they know about theories of self- concept and how they work on its development.

Effect of Advertising on People´s Lives
SUCHNOVÁ, Silvie
This thesis, named Effect of Advertising on People{\crq}s Lives, is a small probe into the big world of media. Primarily, it deals with advertising and people{\crq}s ways of living. Both the theme of advertising and the theme of life way are vast subjects. For this reason, I had delimitated some individual sections and I focused on them. In the field of advertising I pursued effects of TV advertisements. In the field of life way I pursued eating, free time passing, and some pathological phenomena occurring in our society. I took to all these sections in the theoretical part of my thesis. The theoretical part of my thesis deals with definition of the advertisement, legislation on advertising, commercial marketing communication, electronic media and the effect of advertising, of course. The theoretical part of my thesis also gets to the topics of gender in advertisements and lifestyle {--} nutrition and pathological behavior in particular. I set my target and the hypotheses in the practical part of my thesis and I introduce my working methodology in this part, as well. I implemented the method of questionnaire investigation, which was focused on the effect of advertisements on respondents. Then I evaluated the detected results in the terms of gender, age, educational attainment and the net monthly income per a household. I compared the results of my investigations with the findings of experts and I put my mind to confronting two samples of Pilsner Urquell beer advertisements. The original spot, sponsored by the above company, targeted the mid-aged and elderly parts of population. The second spot, the students{\crq} one, targeted young people; it used some less conventional methods, e.g. emotional appellations. I, in cooperation with the students{\crq} spot authors, took a good care of analyzing these two spots. I focused on the meaning of the word love and on some life attitude differences between the younger generation and the older generation. My thesis could be used by some experts who are engaged in researching the effect of advertising on people{\crq}s lives.
