Determination of Plasticity in Tablets from Microcrystalline Cellulose
Křivková, Blanka ; Řehula, Milan (advisor) ; Musilová, Marie (referee)
Determination of plasticity in tablets from microcrystalline celullose Blanka Křivková, 2007 Microcrystalline celullose is widely used as a filler for direct compression. Avicel PH 102 is very often used because of its size of particles (100 μm), appropriate, bulk volume, compressibility. The aim of Diploma thesis was to determine plasticity, to describe influence of the compression force on the plasticity and influence of the type of microcrystalline cellulose and compression conditions on plasticity. The plasticity was determined from graphs showing the decreasing trend of force on the time.Three methods using "one-point" evaluation put into rate value of maximal and minimal forces. The third method evaluate rate of area. These three methods gave comparable result. Two sections of curve from graphs showing the dependence of the plasticity on the compression force can be distinguished. The first one characterized the phase of precompression second one characterized the plastic deformacion of tablets. We can also confirmed the influence of different compression conditions on the second section of the curve. Type of microcrystalline celullose on this section was minimal.

Štiková, Jana ; Berka, Pavel (advisor) ; Doležal, Pavel (referee)
The transdermal application of active substances and the related topic - skin barrier permeability were reviewed in theoretical part of this work. Present knowledge in transdermal permeation enhancers was then summarized shortly, with emphasis on Transkarbams and their development on the Faculty of Pharmacy of the Charles University. The results of the in vitro permeation experiments through full thickness pig ear skin are presented in the following experimental part. The acceleration effect of various concentrations of Transkarbam 12 (T12) on caffeine permeation from oleocreams containing 60% aqueous phase is evaluated. The following values of mean fluxes of caffeine Jr were found 7,88 ± 1,52 g.cm-2 .h-1 ; 9,34 ± 1,62 g.cm-2 .h-1 ; 10,89 ± 2,03 g.cm-2 .h-1 ; 11,29 ± 3,03 g.cm-2 .h-1 and 11,09 ± 2,21 g.cm-2 .h-1 for creams containing from creams containing 0%; 0,3%; 0,5%; 0,7% and 1% T12, respectively. Keywords: transdermal administration of active substances, skin barrier, transdermal permeation enhancers, Transkarbam 12.

Road traffic and its environmental impact
Bubák, Ondřej ; Zelený, Lubomír (advisor) ; Dizdarevič, Damir (referee)
The thesis aims to describe main relationships between road traffic and its environmental impact. It has to explain general concept, definition of basic negatives and disadvantages of the road traffic environmental influence and ways how to face up to them. One of fundamental components of the thesis is represented by an chapter about road traffic's external costs and possible approaches of their elimination. It pushes ahead the internalizing externalities. Analytic part of the thesis refers to one concrete traffic fabric situated in the centre of medium-sized city with a view to changes of environment characteristics of the whole territory and to changes of traffic situation in the city. The fabric is monitored in the course of all phases -- from first suggestions for the final commissioning.

Auxiliary winding supplying the voltage regulator of synchronous generator
Hrtáň, Michal ; Hájek, Vítězslav (referee) ; Vítek, Ondřej (advisor)
The theme of this thesis is the design and verification of the auxiliary winding to supply the voltage regulator of the synchronous generator. The synchronous generator for which the auxiliary winding proposed is three-phase, low voltage with double layer random wound stator winding. The generator excitation is brushless with auxiliary rotating exciter. The auxiliary winding is designed for placement in the stator teeth, along with the main winding. The sizing of the auxiliary winding is derived from the power requirements the voltage regulator. Draft winding is validated analytical calculation and finite element method (FEM). The auxiliary winding has been implemented in the production of the generator. The Features of the auxiliary winding have been verified by measuring the by electrical testing room and the test results are evaluated.

Talent Management
Herlesová, Hana ; Šikýř, Martin (advisor) ; Lansky, Miroslav (referee)
This assignment aims on the differences between the theory and praxes in managing of talented workers. The first part of the assignment is elaborated on theoretical base only and it is focused mainly on explanation of "talent" and "talent management" expressions. Further on the first part describes specific areas where the accent in talent management is necessary. The second part on the contrary to the first part deals with practical issues, processes and programs of the IBM. With respect to the company's size it is necessary to have the talent management precisely prepared as a part of company strategy, which is accomplished as a company's routine not only as a paperwork. This part contains process description of talent identification, selection, development and also retaining talented workers. Single area descriptions are completed by pictures and tables to make it well-arranged. In this section there are partly compared praxes with the theory. There is shown confrontation among theoretically defined areas and processes of talent management and IBM's areas and processes of talent management. Also important is different understanding of "talent" between theory and praxes. The third part summarizes findings and conclusions based on the confrontation between practical and theoretical parts. The fourth part evaluates actual topic of world financial crisis and its impact on the field of talent management mainly from benefits and bonuses for talented workers point of view.

Biomechanics of Whiplash Injury and its Influence on Cervical Spine Structures
Vaňková, Jana ; Otáhal, Stanislav (advisor) ; Dudová, Agnieszka (referee)
Title Biomechanics of whiplash injury and its influence on cervical spine structures Objectives: Objective of the work is charting of studies examining mechanism and course whiplash event, its influence on osseous and arthral textures, intervertebral discus, ligaments, neural textures, cerebro-spinal fluid and vertebral artery. In summary form mention possibilities of prevention in terms ofconstruction car. Method: Diploma work is processed in the form of commented literary background research. Results: Confrontation of individua! works brought definite results, respecting kinematics cervical spine at rear impact. Most ofin vivo and in vitro studies confirmed clear two-phase answer. Immediately after stroke (50 - 110 msec) cervical spine is forming S-form deformation with flection UCS and extension LCS, whereas it is extension with abnormal JAR. Whole spine is loaded by compression at this time. The second period is C-form deformation with extension whole cervical spine. Risk of structures injury is the highest in S- stage. The most often it is localized in LCS, and it is in intervertebral joints including capsular ligaments, intervertebral discus and anterior longitudinale ligament. There are threatened also neural textures, both influence oftension force applied to UCS, and pressurized gradient...

Sublingual drug delivery. 5
Čižinská, Lucie ; Doležal, Pavel (advisor) ; Vachek, Josef (referee)
Thesis brings detailed information about sumatriptan succinate, its therapeutic use and dosage forms. In particular, it notes its sublingual administration. Then it provides a summary description of migraine as a pathophysiological unit. The experimental part is focused on the evaluation of in vitro transmucosal permeation of sumatriptan through porcine sublingual membrane. In the first set of experiments sumatriptan succinate was used in three aqueous vehicle in the second part as nanofibre or cast polymer membranes. Acceptor phase was always a phosphate buffer pH 7.4. Determination of sumatriptan permeated was performed by HPLC. For a 3% sumatriptan phosphate buffer pH 7.4 solution and citrate buffer pH 3.4 were pertinent values of fluxes J about 50 [µg/cm2 .h-1 ], about 40 [µg/cm2 .h-1 ], respectively. Very low permeation was found at 1% solution sumatriptan in artificial salivary fluid. The evaluation of sumatriptan fluxes in transmucosal permeation from polymeric membranes brought important results. Very low fluxes provided the cast of polyacrylic acid (PAA) membranes containing 10% of sumatriptan: J = 0.29 ± 0.07 [µg/cm2.h-1]. Surprisingly high values were measured from polyvinylalcohol (PVA) cast membrane containing 10% of sumatriptan J = 6.5 [µg/cm2 .h-1 ] and from the nanofiber PVA...

Impact of the troposphere on the inosphere
Koucká Knížová, Petra ; Mošna, Zbyšek ; Potužníková, Kateřina ; Boška, Josef ; Kouba, Daniel
Ionosphere represents weakly ionized plasma that reflects solar and geomagnetic activity and processes\nin the neutral atmosphere. Correlation of long time series of the ionospheric plasma critical frequencies,\nobtained by mean of vertical sounding from European stations, is analysed with respect to latitudinal and\nlongitudinal difference and surface distance of stations. Time series of critical frequencies are highly correlated\nreflecting the dominant solar influence. Correlation coefficients are high not only for raw data and subtracted\nmean courses but for fluctuations around mean as well. At the surface distance exceeding 1000 km and/ or about\n10 degrees of latitudinal difference between stations, the correlation coefficients of fluctuations decrease\nrapidly. Such effect is less visible on the latitudinal dependence, where the correlation coefficients decrease with\nincreasing distance with less pronounced threshold. We explain the existence of the ‘break point’ at 10 degrees\nin longitude and/or 1000 km by the ‘local’ influence of the neutral atmosphere and the wave activity. As a\npossible source of the common influence on scale 1000 km/10 degree we propose tropospheric systems that are\nknown to be an important source of atmospheric waves in a broad period range. Large tropospheric mesoscale\nsystems have typically up to 2000 km in size.

Dynamic model of planetary gearbox with four satellites and standing planet carrier
Hortel, Milan ; Škuderová, Alena
The precised mathematical and physical weakly and strongly nonlinear parametric dynamic model pseudoplanetary transmission system with kinematic couplings, ie. four satellites with front straight toothing and standing planet carrier (model Wikov type PP) with 28 degrees of freedom was compiled within the project TAČR TA04011656 follow-up to previous research reports Z-1512/14, Z-1521/14, Z-1537/15. Model respects both elastic supports of all gears and by means Heaviside functions possible contact bounces of meshing gear profiles in the area of the lateral tooth clearances. There are a impact effects upon re-contact of tooth flanks both in normal and during the eventual inverse gear meshes, depending on the size of dynamic forces in gearing. Based on the explicit expression of Lagrange equations of this model, the simulation model of transmission system is prepared in MATLAB / Simulink.
