Beranová, Dagmar ; Horáková Hoskovcová, Simona (advisor) ; Šulová, Lenka (referee)
The subject matter of my thesis is psychical resistibility of the children who grows with mother using nonalcoholic drugs. The desk research considers problems of the mothers using nonalcoholic drugs and recognizes the effects and factors touching their unborn and already born child. The second part of my thesis is focused to child who grows in problematical family and after-effects and consequences arising there from. The end of my desk research is attended to their psychic resistance focused on resilience and concept of personally perceived efficiency. In the empirical part of my thesis I summarize the qualitative research based on combination of methods as observation, interview and questionary. To be specific, in my research I am focused to the psychical resistibility of the preschool children who grows with mother using nonalcoholic drugs. Thereinafter the empirical part is focused to chosen protective resilient factors which are influencing and affecting psychical resistibility of these children. It flows from results of my work, that my sample of preschool children of the nonalcoholic drug dependent mothers has lower psychic resilience than preschool children from the current population. The results showed furthermore, that emotional relationship and fixation to the other person boost the...

Measuring efficiency of hospitals in the Czech Republic
Procházková, Jana ; Chalupka, Radovan (referee) ; Gregor, Martin (advisor)
This thesis estimates cost efficiency of 99 general hospitals in the Czech Republic during 2001-2008 using Data Envelopment Analysis and Stochastic Frontier Analysis. It tests comparability of their results finding out a certain qualitative similarity. Next, determinants were added into SFA and efficiency of Czech hospitals examined. The presence of inefficiency is group specific even having accounted for various determinants. The effects of determinants were tested. Inefficiency increases with teaching status, more than 20,000 treated patients a year, not-for-profit status, larger share of the elderly in the municipality and average salary in the district. Inefficiency decreases with less than 10,000 patients treated a year, larger population, higher unemployment rate and more hospitals in the region.

The Long-Term Care Delivery in the Hospital of Pelhrimov and Its Quality
Princová, Iva ; Holmerová, Iva (advisor) ; Rohanová, Eva (referee)
A year ago a discussion with the topic of the long-term care hospital, where the most numerous group of patiens is formed by older population, took place in mass media. I do not agree with the image of health resorts for the long-term sick presented to the public by mass media. I decided to demonstrate the functioning of good practice through the example of the hospital in the town of Pelhřimov and its section of curative rehabilitating unit. In the theoretical part of my dissertation I deal with the problems of ageing, gerontology and geriatrics. I also characterize a geriatrics patient.. Then I devote myself to the structure of helath services and their finance, to the brief description of the history of the Czech institutional care aimed at the historical development of the follow-up health care and its prezent state. The conclusion of the theoretical part is devoted to the concept of quality, to the definition of this concept, to the quality of health services, to the indicators of quality, to the accreditation and certification. The empiric part of my dissertation deals with the general description of the hospital aimed at the terapeutic rehabilitating unit, farther I devote myself to the qualitative research, to the metod of obtaining data, to the finishing complex of respondents and to the data...

Possibilities of flow cytometry in analysis of cellular response to genotoxic stress
Havelek, Radim ; Řezáčová, Martina (advisor) ; Bílková, Zuzana (referee) ; Štětina, Rudolf (referee)
Possibilities of flow cytometry in analysis of cellular response to genotoxic stress Flow cytometry is a modern tool for interrogating the immunophenotype and functional characteristics of cells. It is a technique of quantitative single cell analysis that works by sensing optical properties of cells in a flow stream with laser beam. Analysis and differentiation of the cells is based on size, granularity, and whether the cell is carrying fluorescent molecules in the form of either conjugated antibodies or dyes. The cells may be stained with fluorescent dyes, incubated with fluorogenic substrate or labelled with fluorochrome-linked antibodies specific for molecules either on the surface or in the intracellular components of the cell. Flow cytometers are multiparameter, recording several measurements on each cell. Therefore, it is possible to identify a homogeneous subpopulation within a heterogeneous population of cells. When cells are exposed to genotoxic agent, they respond quantitatively and qualitatively according to the absorbed dose and the cell type. To cope with the resulting damage to cellular DNA, the temporary cell-cycle checkpoints and DNA damage response mechanisms are activated to allow more time for effective repair. However, if these mechanisms fail or the damage is irreparable, then...

Kašparová, Anna ; Polášková, Marcela (advisor) ; Süss, Vladimír (referee)
Title: Nutrition monitoring in top Czech Republic women white water slalom athletes in the race period of the season. Aim of the study: Comparison of actual quantitative and qualitative composition of the diet in the Czech water slalom paddlers (women) in the racing period to daily recommended standards for the population group of athletes with a corresponding energy output. Using the results, create both general and individual recommendations and assess the need for the use of supplements in the diet of water slalom athletes. Methods: The thesis is a case study and it is a kind of qualitative research. For our study we chose two main methods. Prospective study method and the method of interview. To determine the total daily energy intake and diet quality inventorial analysis of the four- day dietary record of the respondents was used. For comparison with the standards, the data were subsequently processed by standardized software applications of database functions MS Excel (Vilikus a kol., 2002) and accompanied by a critical commentary. To survey the data concerning use of food supplements has been used a method in which athletes respond to questions asked. The data were assessed in writing and graphically. Results: Our study shows and critically comment on the differences between recommended and...

Actual health status of red deer (Cervus elaphus) population in KRNAP region
Bártl, Josef ; Lamka, Jiří (advisor) ; Ducháček, Lubomír (referee)
This study took place in 2006 and 2007 and includes the results of the 2005, is aimed at verifying the health status of wild stocks of Red Deer (Cervus elaphus) in KRNAP in the Czech Republic. The incidence of parasitic infections was investigated by coprological methods (qualitative ovoscopic method and quantitative larvoscopic method) on the Pharmaceutical Faculty of Charles University in Hradec Kralove, Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology. In all yards were from parasitic nematodes most evidenced by the frequency Elaphostrongylus cervi, with less frequency in other nematodes Strongylida family and genus Capillaria. Mycobacterial infection caused by Mycobacterium avium subsp. paratuberculosis and Mycobacterium bovis were investigated by the culture method of mycobacteriosis and serological methods immunodifuse test (IDT) and complement fixation (RVK) on Research Institute of Veterinary Medicine, Center Laboratory, accredited testing laboratory in Brno (registration number: 1354). In this study was not discovered any positive samples. The study shows that mycobacterial infection not occur in wild population of Red Deer, and the parasitic infections in gastrointestinal tract are very low.

The regular observance of obligatory school attendance in context of social benefits
JINDROVÁ, Markéta
The main task and objective of this bachelor thesis was to present a public research in know how of social benefits in observance of obligatory school attendence together with knowledge of an off take of social benefits depending on non observance of obligatory school attendance. Next objective was to present a comprehensive list of this issue. Besides these main objectives, partial objectives were determined e.g. to uncover the quality in communication between clerks and clients and also to compare their point of view on each other. For documentation purpose were made three different hypotheses. Hypotheses No.1: The aspirant for social benefits is convinced, that he has claim for benefits without any circumstances. Hypotheses No.2: The clients who dealt with clerks in the office don{\crq}t consider the behavior of the clerk in most cases willing. Hypotheses No.3: The knowledge of social benefits depending on observance of obligatory school attendance in the public have mostly just people who achieved secondary school education . Two methods (qualitative and quantitative analysis) are used for this project. To be more specific first method was mainly questioning together with an observation and the second was a questionary together with an interview. One questionary was concentrating on clients who mainly depends on benefits becase of their bad economical situation. Second questionary was concentrating on average population. The clerks from department for social matters in Klatovy and Domazlice were the interviewrs. The hypothese No.2 was confirmed. Clients in most cases believe that the behavior of clerks is unwilling. On the other hand the clerks do not agree with this statement. To determinate the real estate of this problem it would need more and longer research on a bigger group of respondents without the consideration on benefits. The hypothese No.1 also confirmed that the respondents are convincent of their claim on soscial benefits. Just the hypothese No.3 wasn´t confirmed. The reaserch showed that the knowledge and the subconscious about social benefits is good. The reason of a goood know how in public of social benefits can be discolosure of information thru the internet, a new information technology, the interest in social sphere or giving information in terms of education.
