Bis, Josef ; Vojáček, Jan (advisor) ; Mates, Martin (referee) ; Vítovec, Jiří (referee)
The metabolic response to acute coronary syndrome focusing on tissue factor,, metalloproteinases and soluble CD40 ligand Introduction: The cause of acute coronary syndrome is unstable plaque and its rupture. Pathogenesis is complex and requires various mechanisms and depends both on the composition of plaque and thrombotic activity of blood. Objectives: The main goal of this work was to assess local levels of plasma tissue factor (TF), tissue factor inhibitor (TFPI), tissue metalloproteinases (MMP-2, 3 and 9) and inhibitor of metalloproteinases-2 (TIMP-2), a highly selective C-reactive protein (CRP) and soluble CD40 ligand (sCD40L) in patients with acute coronary syndrome and with stable angina pectoris in the systemic circulation, the coronary sinus and to determine the time course of blood levels in patients with acute coronary syndrome. Methods and results: Study population include patients with coronary artery disease (CAD). In 24 patients with stable CAD (SCAD) at time of diagnostic coronary angiography, we withdrew samples from the coronary sinus (CS), femoral vein (VF) and left coronary artery (LMCA). In 29 patients with acute coronary syndrome (ACS) we took samples of venous blood also 24 hours and 7 days from the start. The samples were fixed levels of TF, TFPI, MMP-2, 3 and 9, TIMP-2, CRP, and...

Polluter Pays Principle in the Environmental Law
Vícha, Ondřej ; Damohorský, Milan (advisor) ; Müllerová, Hana (referee) ; Drobník, Jaroslav (referee)
A B S T R A C T of the dissertation "Polluter Pays Principle in the Environmental Law" JUDr. Ondřej Vícha The Doctoral Program¨"Theoretical Legal Sciences", Law Faculty, Charles University in Prague This thesis deals with the legal aspects of the the polluter pays principle (PPP) within the environmental law. The aim of this thesis is to provide an overview of current definitions of this principle and its application in the International, European and national Czech law. The text is devided into ten chapters. After the introduction, the thesis ruminates on legal principles in general, their status and function in the legal system and in the environmental law specially. The third part holds forth on development and functions of the PPP and its relation to other legal principles of the environmental law. The polluter-pays principle represents among the OECD countries, respectively at the European level, for quite a long recognized and practically applied economic and legal principles leading to internalize the costs of environmental protection, which are transferred from states to the real polluters, who pollutes environment by their production or other economic activities. The history of this principle reflects a gradual shift in meaning. At first, the Recommendations of the OECD and the EC referred to the...

Severýn, Vojtěch ; Voráček, Josef (advisor) ; Štědroň, Bohumír (referee)
Supervisor of the thesis: Author: Mgr. Josef Voráček Bc. Vojtěch SEVERÝN Prague, 2012 ABSTRACT Title: Proposal and implementation of communication plan for charity Auction of ice- hockey jerseys and other original items Objectives: The aim of the thesis is to propose a project of the charity Auction of ice-hockey jerseys and the other original items with focus on the proposal, analysis and evaluation of efficiency of the communication plan. Methods: The whole thesis is designed as a case study. The efficiency of the communication plan is measured on a visits of microsite created for this project and also on a visits of the individual auctions. The yield of the auction is also an indicator of the efficiency. The project and also the implementation of communication activities were held from 7. 5. to 17. 5. 2012, and in the same time the monitoring of attendance was under way. Some indicators are compared to the period before the project started. Results: We found what communication tools were suitable for such a project, what tools were useless, if the timing of communication actions were right or wrong. Based on "behaviour" of the audience we proposed some options for developing of this project. The results of the measurement prove that although the total attendance was positive, the yield of the auction was...

The relationship between the occurence of a trigger point in the soleus muscle and the functional impairment of the SI joint and the possibility of their mutual influence
Judl, Jakub ; Šifta, Petr (advisor) ; Nováková, Pavlína (referee)
Title: The relationship between the occurrence of a trigger point in the soleus muscle and the functional impairment of the SI joint and the possibility of their mutual influence. Objectives/Aims: The aim is to write a summarization of facts based on a literature research on the complex problem of the trigger point phenomenon with a regard to their etiology and work out a pilot study to verify the relationship between the TrP and stiffness in soleus muscle and the functional impairment of the SI joint in terms of reduced joint play in the ipsilateral lower extremity. The experiment, based on objective results, is to answer the fundamental questions of whether patients with functional impairment of the SI joint leads to the formation of a TrP in the soleus muscle on the ipsilateral limb, whether the eventual dry needle therapy of a TrP in the soleus muscle will remove the malfunction of the ipsilateral SI joint, and vice versa, whether if by restoring joint play in the SI joint by mobilization therapy will have an effect on the muscle tone of the ipsilateral soleus muscle and remove the TRP. Methods: The incidence of TrP and the level of muscle tone was tested on 8 persons with functional impairment of the SI joint. Two even groups were formed. The first group had both a TrP in the soleus muscle and...

Innovation of music-based physical education activities for pre-school kids
Kubaň, Antonín ; Novotná, Viléma (advisor) ; Holá, Iveta (referee)
Abstract Title: Innovation of music-based physical education activities for pre-school kids Objectives: The aim of the thesis is to draft and attempt to validate the comprehensive interventional educational programme for pre-school kids focused on all-around personal development. Side effect of the executed research was the support of pre-school kid's natural and comprehensive kinetic development, sensorimotor, musical and rhytmical competences with the stress on personal health and hygiene (i.e. changing clothes, stretching, basic behaviour during physical education, correct breathing whilst singing etc.) Methods: The case study method was applied as pedagogic experiment for the purpose of our research. Over the period of one year, the experimental groups were exposed to the ZEMĚKOULE music-based physical education programme with the frequency of 45 and 60 minutes twice a week. Observation, interviews and motor tests were used for the purpose of the case study. Results were then confronted through feedback from the observation itself, observation of other teachers, interviews with parents, photographs, sound and video recordings. Data collection was executed throughout a year long personal presence in Zeměkoule Pre- School. Results: The innovation of music-based physical education activities for pre-...

The mechanism of cell death induction in human malignant melanoma in vitro
Rudolf, Kamil ; Červinka, Miroslav (advisor) ; Mlejnek, Petr (referee) ; Janisch, Roman (referee)
Melanoma is a complex malignant disease characterized by increasing incidence and mortality. Melanoma biology is complicated and comprises many aberrant genes and signaling pathways. Treatment of melanoma relies on surgery, the role of radiation therapy and chemotherapy are limited. In advanced disseminating and metastasizing melanoma chemotherapy largely fails and that is why new approaches are being sought including identification of deregulated molecules or processes which could be used as targets. Some of these targets center on frequently aberrant cell death regulating mechanisms. Some traditional cytostatic drugs such as inhibitors of topoisomerases although useful in other types tumors so far proved useless in treatment of melanoma. Nevertheless, expression of topoisomerases in melanoma is often high, thereby enabling at least theoretically their use as targets for chemotherapeutical intervention. Aim of this study was to assess the cytoxicity and proapoptotic effect of campthotecin (topoisomerase I inhibitor), etoposide (topoisomerase IIα inhibitor) and their combination in selected human melanoma cell lines. We found that campthotecin may induce apoptosis by a combination of mechanisms including p53 as well as p73 and kaspase-2. Etoposide-induced cell death in Bowes melanoma cells included...
