Tkáčová, Barbora ; Malý, Milan (advisor) ; Panáček, Pavel (referee)
This thesis entitled "Theory of the organization life cycle and its use in small business' handles in the theoretical part with two well known theories of organizations, dealing with development and monitoring of common characters in their lives. In the practical part there is application of chosen theory to selected small engineering-oriented business, and also practical knowledge compared with those described in theory. Due to the special characteristics of the firm is then the next part of the work devoted to devising of appropriate strategies that could be used if a company will continue in development to avoid a crisis period, which may occur in its life cycle. The last part is the specification of possible risks that should the company expect during the development and also devising of preventive measures.

Regeneration of road cyclists
Čtvrtníček, Jiří ; Majorová, Simona (advisor) ; Hošková, Blanka (referee)
Nam.e ofthe work: Regeneration ofroad cyclists Obj-ectives of the work: to carry out an examination of the state of regeneration in road cyclists' teams in the Czech Republic on the basis of theoretical knowledge and empirical evidence of the author, and after its evaluation further suggestions for improvement of the regeneration process procedure would be offered. Method: The research was carried out using methods of analysis of training documentation (cyclists' training log books), interviews (to state ways of spending free time and also to state subjective feelings of competitors toward regeneration), questionnaires and observation. Evaluation of the collected data was done by percent occurrence ofindividua! variables. Results: The research revealed grave defects in the process ofregeneration of road cyclists - in fact in all aspects of regeneration. With reference to this finding the author suggests certain steps to optimise the process ofroad cyclists' regeneration. Key words: road cycling, rehabilitation, regeneration, fatigue, means ofregeneration

Procyclicality in Basel II and Basel III
Šobotníková, Petra ; Teplý, Petr (advisor) ; Jakubík, Petr (referee)
The term procyclicality refers to the ability of a system to amplify business cycles. The recent financial crisis has revealed that the current regulatory framework, Basel II, affects the business cycle in exactly that manner. The newly published Basel III therefore sought to include tools that would mitigate the procyclical nature of regulatory framework. The aim of the thesis is to analyze whether such tools are effective and whether the procyclicality under Basel III has been mitigated when compared to Basel II. In order to conduct such analysis we employ a simple model with the households and firms sector. Using the OLS estimation method we estimate the sensitivity of Basel risk weights to the business cycle under both Basel II and Basel III conditions. As the Basel III framework has been published only recently, there are few studies that would analyze its effect on procyclicality. The main contribution of this thesis consists of implementation of Basel III countercyclical tools and the comparison between both frameworks. The thesis further contributes to the existing literature by conducting the analysis on the data for the Visegrád Group, that is for the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary and Poland. Meta-Analysis in Economics: Application to Measuring the Euro's Trade Effect
Polák, Petr ; Havránek, Tomáš (advisor) ; Havránková, Zuzana (referee)
Meta-analysis is a very strong and effective tool designed for the synthesis of results of empirical research. It provides a possibility to make reliable conclusions and offers more systematic and unbiased view at empirical studies than do narrative reviews. This thesis begins with description of meta-analysis from the theoretical point of view and, therefore, is the first Czech-written methodology of modern meta-analysis suitable for economics. This part is followed by an applied meta-analysis that investigates the euro effect on common trade exchange, and the analysis is focused on publication bias and the use of the multilevel random effects model. The empirical part is based on 2580 estimates gathered from 33 studies that investigate the relationship between euro and trade volume. The meta-analysis reveals the presence of publication bias, confirms the economic research cycle hypothesis and estimates, according to the available literature, that the true Rose effect lies probably between 2 and 6 percent.

Development of Method for Determination of Endocrine Disruptors in Environmental Samples
Novotná, Veronika ; Bosáková, Zuzana (advisor) ; Čabala, Radomír (referee)
There are many substances of natural and anthropogenic origin at present called endocrine disruptors which may influence endocrine system of animals and humans. A complex analysis of endocrine disruptors in environmental samples is important for knowledge of their behaviour in living environment and for their risk estimation. A complex method has been developed in this thesis for an analysis of bisphenol A, 17α-ethinylestradiol, irgasan and 4-nonylphenol in activated sludge and soil involving ASE extraction, sludge extract cleaning with silicagel and GPC and subsequent GC/MS and HPLC/UV samples quantification. These final extraction conditions of ASE have been settled: extraction mixture DCM:acetone (3:1 v/v), temperature 60 řC, pressure 1700 psi, 3 extraction cycles. ASE yield during soil extraction has been settled in range of 93,0-116,3 % with RSD 2,7-5,7% by HPLC/UV analysis and 93,3-106,0 % with RSD 9,3-15,6 % by GC/MS analysis. The whole method yield including the cleaning steps has been settled in range of 78,2-111,2 % with RSD 4,1-10,6 % in HPLC/UV quantification and 74,6-88,9 % with RSD 3,7-18,2 % in GC/MS quantification. The method application on the artificially contaminated sludge and soil samples analyzed after five months of storage has provided the yield of all analysts in range of...

Title: Problems relating to the visually handicapped pupils at Jaroslav Ježek School Aim. of work: Mapping and evaluating the present sports possibilities of the visually handicapped pupils in the 2. stage of Jaroslav Ježek basic school in Prague. The aim is to concentrate on the facts that the pupils perceive as barriers and that hinder them from physical activities. Method: To reach the above mentioned aim there were compiled and sorted the necessary data. We made a survey for the pupils and furthermore we evaluated the acquired data. On the basis of the acquired information we proposed the enlargement of sports possibilities and proved them in practise. Results and conclusions: The school currently offers a wide portfolio of sports possibilities and thus both within the physical education lessons and in various sport clubs, and further by arranging the participation of the pupils in various republic sports competitions. The visually handicapped pupils have a chance to familiarize themselves with the basics of athletics, swimming, cycling, applied sports and physical games, traditional skiing, and also for example water sports, wall climbing, horse riding, in-line skating and other outdoor activities. The activities that tend to the compensation or reduction of the visual handicap or the weakened...

Derivatives suitable for commodtiy risk hedging
Klepetko, Petr ; Scholleová, Hana (advisor) ; Štýbr, David (referee)
This thesis is concerning the problematic of derivatives which can be applicable for commodity risk hedging. The futures contracts and options are utilized for hedging commodity risk on oil market. For purposes of this work is designed a trading strategy, which consists of exponential moving average and expiration cycle of the options. The strategy is tested on historical oil prices. Because the strategy shows promising outputs it was employed on setting options strategy as well. The hedging options strategy collar is tested on historical prices of oil. Testing on historical prices discovered that it is profitable for processor to hedge the oil price by futures contracts. For producer it is more profitable to hedge the price by employing standard collar strategy. On the other side the bear collar strategy generated quite unconvincing outputs for processor. When the out-the-money bear collar war modified into in-the-money bear collar the outputs were satisfactorily profitable.

Cycle - metamorphoses of stone
Kavalírová, Martina ; Sedlák, Michal (advisor) ; Hůla, Zdenek (referee)
The thesis explains the metamorphoses of stone seen in different contexts both natural and social. The metamorphosis of stone properties and its shape is presented on the basis of the natural processes taking place in the nature. The change of the relevance and function of the stone is seen in parallels of stone perception in the past and today. The core of the whole thesis is an effort to defend the place and values of the natural forms - stones for a human being in the present world. The thesis further deals with the use of "metamorphoses of stone" in fine art. The practical part contains a collection of "stone" objects created from different materials, completed by photos of objects in natural context of the present time. The didactic part is offering a possible application of the theme in art education.
