Multimedia Grid
Šimko, Viliam
The thesis describes the possibilities and issues of existing videoconferencing systems. We focus on open-source solutions for group-to-group communication especially the AccessGrid technology that utilizes the multicast packet delivery method of multimedia content. We describe AccessGrid node created for CIANT organization, which has been taken as a starting point for defining the architecture of a videoconferencing system based exclusively on open-source components, particularly Linux and related software. We address issues related to firewalls and NAT traversal and provide a comparison of various videoconference-related codecs and protocols. Finally, the text touches the question of recording and archiving of conference sessions and provides a new integrated recording application -- StreamVNC. The tool allows users to prepare their presentations using localhost recording facility which includes AGVCR for recoding RTP packets, EVIC for grabbing the VNC display and camera source and RAT as an audio encoder.

Cihlářová, Kristýna ; Valenta, Josef (advisor) ; Kasíková, Hana (referee)
Diplomová práce Animace kultury ve výchově a vzdělávání/ The Animation of Culture in Education Vypracovala: Kristýna Cihlářová 2011, KPED FFUK Abstract Nowadays, various cultural institutions realize their strategies of opening cultural services and the arts to the public. These strategies include the conception of educational programmes, particularly animation programmes for schools. The diploma thesis gives a definition of the animation of culture, its position and function in education. It focuses on a concrete type of an educational programme; an animation programme for the 1st and 2nd grade of basic school held in various types of cultural institutions. The thesis analyses the creation and realization of the animation programme from two perspectives; a theoretical and a practical one; by means of interviews with contemporary authors of animation programmes as well as by means of observation of the programmes. The two perspectives represent the confrontation of the ideal and real state of the issue. The conclusion offers practical recommendations in response to the articulated problems during the creation and realization of the programme. The Animation of Culture in Education shall serve as a handbook to those planning the creation or realization of animation programmes for basic schools. Keywords:...

The governing bodies of a cooperative
Pytela, David ; Oehm, Jaroslav (advisor) ; Zahradníčková, Marie (referee)
In some point of human development natural persons were just not enough. That is why artificial persons were incorporated into legal system of modern countries. They were given rights and duties almost identical to natural persons. One of those was society. Society is a person with open membership. Its purpose is to aid and encourage members in their business, economical, social and other needs. The thought of creating such an artificial person originated in the first half of the 19th century. The first real society was created on the 24th October 1844 in Rochdale in England. In our territory first society was created soon after that in 1846. I chose this topic as my thesis because I believe that societies are important part of our legal system and also life of many people though they are sometimes overlooked. For example I live in a flat that is part of a big society in our town. The purpose of my thesis is firstly to identify problems, gaps and disputative questions in the legal regulations. Then I try to present opinions and answers given by our jurisprudence and judicature. I also try to give my perspective and opinions on the matter. The bodies of society in our country are members' meeting, cooperative board and controlling commission. This structure of bodies can be simplified when there is...

Scalable link-time optimization
Láska, Ladislav ; Hubička, Jan (advisor) ; Mareš, Martin (referee)
Both major open-source compilers, GCC and LLVM, have a mature link-time optimization framework usable on most current programs. They are however not free from many performance issues, which prevent them to perform certain analyses and optimizations. We analyze bottlenecks and identify multiple places for improvement, focusing on improving interprocedural points-to analysis. For this purpose, we design a new data structure derived from Bloom filters and use it to significantly improve performance and memory consumption of link-time optimization. Drábiková, Marianna ; Janovec, Ladislav (advisor) ; Štěrbová, Ludmila (referee)
The thesis is focused on description of the specific language of Hany Potter fanfiction, the fiction written by fans. In the opening chapter there are thoroughly explained terms of fanfiction, and Harry Potter fandom, and there are listed links to websites, where it's possible to learn more about given problems. The next chapter is dealing with neologisms, which are used in fanfiction texts. They are divided according to their origin. Other issues described in the thesis are declension of names ended witli "-us", and the attitude of fanfiction authors toward this question. The other problems this thesis is discussing are the most frequent grammatical mistakes seen in fanfiction, and the characteristics of style of the fanfiction texts. One of the chapters is also addressing the text linguistics of fanfiction. Due to the extend of the thesis, other texts possibly considered as a part of the fandom of Harry Potter are mentioned only marginally; this area is still waiting for it's deeper analysis.

Management and implementation of project procedure in educational system
Vrbová, Zuzana ; Švecová, Lenka (advisor) ; Kučera, Ladislav (referee)
In my final thesis I focus on process and implementation of project procedure. The main aim of this thesis is to show possibilities of how to work with projects in the nonprofit field of educational resort. The opening part is a summary of six chapters. I tried to summarize my own, as well as other theoretical knowledge and basic information concerning the branch of the project procedure, which are important for the following practical part of the thesis. I deal with individual phases of the project procedure, in which I explain terms such as project framework, the lifecycle of project, evaluation methods of projects, the use of information technology, risks that might appear in project procedure etc. Further in my thesis, which is very important, I focus on possibilities of project fundraising in schools. I present basic information about The European Business Academy in Decin, where I am employed. I also deal with options that teachers and students have to extend their education abroad, so called "the mobility of students and teachers". The main part of my thesis includes projects which are being prepared at The European Business Academy in Decin. As an example, I enclose a project which was conducted by students together with teachers and its implementation into use. The second project is a project objective which was not implemented. The third project is being processed and the fourth one has been approved. Another aim of my thesis is to show to other schools how to work with projects and give them a guideline how to involve not only teachers or other employees but also students. Since 2010 students of the final grade will create team projects and the process and defence of the project will be included in the final school-leaving examination.
