Breeding of Normande cattle in Czech republic
KABÁTKOVÁ, Zdenka
The aim of this diploma work was to review the current state of breeding of Normande cattle in Czech republic. The reason for introducing the breeding of this cattle is some of its qualities. The most important of these include a higher percentage of casein in milk as well as good conversion of nutrients from the bulk feed and meat quality. Monitoring of cattle took place in four separate farms in years 2005 - 2009. There was created basic monitored group from pure Normande breed. Control groups were from pure Holstein dairy cattle, Czech Spotted dairy cattle. Fertility evaluation was done by following four indicators: age at first calving, insemination interval, service period and interlude. Evaluation of efficiency was based on milk production, protein production and content of the milk constituents. Results of fertility show that with the exception of age of first calving (832 days), the breeding goal hasn't been met to Breeders Association of Normande cattle. Value of insemination interval was 88,74 days, value of service period was 134,28 days and value of interlude was evaluated at 462,38 days. When we compare the Normande breed with Holstein breed, milk production of Normande breed is lower about 2025,4 kg, as well as lower protein production about 48,6 kg. Difference between fertility results for both breeds is within statistical discrepancy. In comparison with the Czech Spotted breed, the Normande breed is at least competitive in both indicators: fertility and efficiency as well. Content of milk constituents in Normande cows milk is significantly higher than in the milk of the other two breeds (4,38 to 4,41% of fat, 3,76 to 3,81% of protein, 4,89 to 5,20% of lactose). There was the highest culling (57.4%) in the basic selection of pure Normande dairy cows in comparison to selections of other breeds. The main reason for discarding were the other health reasons.

Convention on the Rights of the Child {--} Monitoring of Informedness in the Public
KOLÍNOVÁ, Eliška
Convention on the Rights of a Child came into being on November 20, 1989, when it was adopted by the General Assembly of the United Nations Organisation (UNO). It became to be legally valid on September 2, 1990. On September 30, 1990 the world summit for children in New York took place and on this occasion, the then Czech and Slovak Federative Republic joined this Convention on the Rights of a Child. This international document in our country came into legal effect on Febr. 6, 1991. The children{\crq}s rights committee of UNO criticises the Czech Republic, that it informs insufficiently of the Convention on the Rights of a Child and for this reason the society does not know what rights this document contains. The target of the bachelor thesis is to find out if the Czech society is really insufficiently informed and if the pedagogues in the elementary school really inform their pupils on their rights sufficiently. The selected methodology was the questionnaire examination which was performed in the form of a questionnaire. 2 types of questionnaires were created, one of them for finding out to what extent the public is informed and the other one for pedagogues. The respondents of 2 towns were selected {--} Blatná and Strakonice, to be able to verify the hypothesis if the citizens of a larger town (Strakonice) are more informed than the citizens of a smaller town (Blatná). To establish if the pedagogues inform, the pedagogues of the Elementary School of Jan Amos Komenský in Blatná were addressed. I think the postulated targets of the thesis were met. The research confirmed all the hypotheses. The public is insufficiently informed. The extent of knowledge is lower in a small town than in a larger town. The pedagogues inform insufficiently the pupils about the Convention on the Rights of a Child. The recommendation following from this thesis is that the state should start to inform more the wide public. For this purpose the public education should be carried out by means of leaflets, talks of parents with their children, television spots and firsts of all the instructions of the rights of children, following from Convention on the Rights of a Child shall be involved obligatory into the teaching in elementary school.

Title: Motor performance of pupils with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). Objectives: The aim of the work was to determine the level of fine and gross motor skills of upper extremities of the pupils with diagnosis ADHD at schools specialized on these pupils and compare it with the fine and gross motor skills of upper extremities of children without this diagnosis at common elementary school. Further work objective was to determine the level of gross motor skills of lower limbs and laterality of paired organs (hand - foot) within above mentioned groups of pupils. Methods: To determine the level of fine and gross motor skills of upper extremities, gross motor skills of lower limbs, laterality of the upper and lower extremities of the pupils with and without ADHD aged 9-11 years we used these types of tests: "Spiral", "Dotting test", "Beads" (the level of fine motor skills of the upper extremities); "Pack", "Small plate tapping", "Big plate tapping" (the level of gross motor skills of upper extremities); "Tapping the leg" (the level of gross motor skills of the lower limbs); "Typing out the Rhythm" (the laterality of the lower limbs); "Bell" and "Matches" (the laterality of the upper extremities). Results: The fine motor level of dominant hand was in the case of ADHD diagnosed pupils...

Typical Dance Injuries and Prevention of Them
Guldbrandsoy, Iselin Saetre ; Pavlů, Dagmar (advisor) ; Malá, Jitka (referee)
Objectives Identifying the most common dance injuries of lower extremity of classically trained dancers and looking at the different possibilities of prevention. Focus is on gaining a holistic view on dancer's health; how these injuries develop in dancers specifically and different approaches of prevention, all with an understanding of the dance-specificities; including dance technique, training regimes and dancer's mentality. With this I hope to gain knowledge to be able to work in this field in the future. My questions for investigation are; 1. What are the most frequent injuries of lower extremity in dancers? 2. What are the main reasons for these injuries to occur? 3. Are the injuries in any way connected to each other? 4. What are the different possibilities for active prevention of them? Methods This is a literary review with the use of books and articles in the field of Dance Medicine and Sports Medicine. Articles used are gained through PubMed, Medline and Cochrane libraries, or in the "Journal of Dance Medicine & Science" through my membership with the "International Association of Dance Medicine & Science". Articles and books are found within the period of October 2010 till March 2012. Findings Overuse injuries with mild to moderate severity is most common. Functional disability is often...

V ANGLIČTINĚ Author's first name and surname: Hynek Vysoký Title of the master thesis: The possibilities of unilateral cross-effect by unilateral shank amputation. Department: Department Track and field. Supervisor: PhDr. Aleš Kaplan, Ph.D. Goals: an experimental demonstration of the contributions from the lower limb muscle function with unilateral amputation of the shank by means of unilateral cross-effect and compared to individuals with complete lower limb. Method: The method of repeated application for the development of sub maximal efforts, that was selected, was taken from the heavy athletics. The method, which formed the basis of this experimental training program, was composed of four basic isolated exercises for lower limb, which consisted flexion on the leg curl machine, the extension on the leg curl machine, leg press 45 ř, seated calf machine, with an emphasis on the physical possibilities of subject with unilateral amputation. Expected changes were measured using dynamometric and anthropometric measurements of both limbs. Results: The results proved the main prerequisite the lateral load of one (lower) limb - by using the training method of repeated efforts caused spontaneous influence of the function of the other (passive) lower limb with single-sided shin amputation thanks to...

The effect of manual lymphatic drainage on the musculus soleus muscle tension in patients with chronic venous insufficiency
Květoňová, Hana ; Jalovcová, Miroslava (advisor) ; Novotná, Irena (referee)
Title: The effect of manual lymphatic drainage on the musculus soleus muscle tension in patients with chronic venous insufficiency. Aims: The aim of this thesis is to summarize theoretical knowledge about chronic venous insufficiency, muscle tension and manual lymphatic drainage and then to perform a pilot study to determine whether people suffering from chronic venous insufficiency have changed muscle tone of musculus soleus and to verify whether the implementation of a single manual lymphatic drainage of the lower limbs results in a change of muscle tension of musculus soleus. Methods: There were three patients who participated in the experiment. Anthropometric examinations of circuits of both lower limbs on all patients was carried out, using measuring tape and then a muscle tone of musculus soleus was measured using a device called myotonometer. After that the single manual lymphatic drainage of one lower limb (more affected lower extremity) was performed. The second, untreated leg was considered to be the control limb. There was also performed basal treatment of the neck, before every manual lymphatic drainage of lower limb. Circumferential dimensions of both lower limbs were measured immediately after manual lymphatic drainage and then 15 minutes later again. After that the muscle tone of...

Autoimmune thyroid disorders in pregnancy and after delivery (Regional screening of thyroid disorders in pregnancy)
Špitálníková, Sylvie ; Horáček, Jiří (advisor) ; Límanová, Zdeňka (referee) ; Zamrazil, Václav (referee)
Our universal screening revealed a relatively high prevalence of autoimmune thyroid disorders (AITD), namely Hashimoto's thyroiditis (HT) and postpartum thyroiditis (PPT), and incipient hypothyroidism in an unselected population of pregnant women from a chosen district, roughly similar to that in foreign studies. Most of the disorders recognized in this way were asymptomatic, and if only high-risk women, defined according to the recommended guidelines, were examined, a large proportion of pregnant women with thyroid disorders would be neither followed by an endocrinologist, nor treated. The universal screening for thyroid autoimmunity and dysfunction appears to be more beneficial for improving the care of pregnant and postpartum women and their children than limiting the testing on women with risk factors only. For the evaluation of TSH levels in pregnant women in the first trimester of pregnancy, the range 0.15-3.5 mIU/l appeared to be the most appropriate one with respect to the method used. On the basis of the results obtained, we believe that the use of the screening target of 3.5 mIU/l and the treatment target of 2.5 mIU/l in women identified as having HT brings satisfactory outcomes. Pregnant women who were treated properly and in time showed a lower occurrence of complications in pregnancy....
