Solving problems from the domain of electrical circuits
Devera, Filip ; Novotná, Jarmila (advisor) ; Jančařík, Antonín (referee)
TITLE: Solving problems from the domain of electrical circuits AUTHOR: Filip Devera DEPARTMENT: Department of Mathematics and Mathematical Education SUPERVISOR: Prof. RNDr. Jarmila Novotná, CSc. ABSTRACT: The subject of this thesis is solving problem from the domain of electrical circuits. Because the theory of electrical circuits itself is a broad subject, this thesis is going to focus only on a small subcategory, mainly electrical circuits, where the power sources supply the current and voltage either at a constant direct flow or with a harmonic waveform. Furthermore these circuits will be discussed only in their stabilized state. This may seem as a gross simplification of the subject, but majority of electronic devices works with direct or harmonic power supply. The goal set for this thesis is to define relationships for the design of selected electrical circuits derived from the much broader theory of electromagnetic field. Various methodologies and procedures for the design of electronic ci- rcuits exist, that are based on these relationships. These methods will be illustrated on solved examples. Aside from the physical characterization of circuits a mathematical apparatus will be needed to solve equations and sys- tem of equations, derived from the physical relationships.

Unsupervised Dependency Parsing
Mareček, David ; Žabokrtský, Zdeněk (advisor) ; Jurčíček, Filip (referee) ; Sogaard, Anders (referee)
Unsupervised dependency parsing is an alternative approach to identifying relations between words in a sentence. It does not require any annotated treebank, it is independent of language theory and universal across languages. However, its main disadvantage is its so far quite low parsing quality. This thesis discusses some previous works and introduces a novel approach to unsupervised parsing. Our dependency model consists of four submodels: (i) edge model, which controls the distribution of governor-dependent pairs, (ii) fertility model, which controls the number of node's dependents, (iii) distance model, which controls the length of the dependency edges, and (iv) reducibility model. The reducibility model is based on a hypothesis that words that can be removed from a sentence without violating its grammaticality are leaves in the dependency tree. Induction of the dependency structures is done using Gibbs sampling method. We introduce a sampling algorithm that keeps the dependency trees projective, which is a very valuable constraint. In our experiments across 30 languages, we discuss the results of various settings of our models. Our method outperforms the previously reported results on a majority of the test languages.

Air quality in schools
Hromádka, Jiří ; Braniš, Martin (advisor) ; Hůnová, Iva (referee)
A lot of scientific articles were published about the indoor air quality during the last decade. It is proven that high concentrations of particulate matter and problems connected with poor ventilation conditions can cause health effects to people who are sensitive to them. Children are one of the groups at risk. They spend a lot of time at home and also at school, so the air quality at schools is an important issue. This work contains a review of scientific papers concerning this issue. It discusses the factors influencing indoor air quality, mainly concentration of particulate matter and carbon dioxide. Other factors were also chosen: the age of the school building and its location, the seasonality, the number and level of activity of pupils, floor carpeting and the amount of air circulation in the classrooms. The preliminary study tries to prove these theories. The concentration of PM10 and CO2, the temperature and the relative humidity were measured in three classrooms at one primary school in Prague. The results show that higher concentration of particulate matter is correlated with higher level of activity of pupils. Also poor ventilation leads to the higher concentration of carbon dioxide and poor air quality. It was proven that there is a minimal correlation between indoor and outdoor...

Numerical Computation of a Response of the Rotor System RK 4 (Rotor Kit 4) with the Shaft Failured by Crack Excited by Centrifugal Force
Ferfecki, Petr ; Ondrouch, Jan
A fatigue crack in rotor systems may cause large damage to the system if undetected and the economic loss is tremendous. The computational procedures for investigation of lateral vibration of a rotor system with a shaft containing open crack are developed. The response of rotor system is computed from equations of motion by means of Newmark method, trigonometric collocation method and stability of lateral vibration was investigated by means of Floquet theory.

Monitoring of SLD DNS servers
Šťastný, Petr ; Peterka, Jiří (advisor) ; Lukeš, Dan (referee)
This publication directly follows the bachelor thesis. It contains necessary theory of HTTP, SMTP and some other protocols and services. This knowledge is then used to draw a methodology to build additional tests to verify availability and functionality of basic Internet services of a domain name. This methodology is then implemented as an application that uses distributed processing to analyse a large number of domains. Obtained results are then compiled into statistical outputs. One chapter is also devoted to overview of the attacks on DNS and security options of DNS servers and domain records.

Nursery school pupil's general readiness for the entry to primary school
Rupertová, Tereza ; Mazáčová, Nataša (advisor) ; Váňová, Miroslava (referee)
The subject matter of diploma thesis "Nursery school pupil's general readiness for the entry to primary school" is preparedness of nursery schools pupils for entering primary school. Diploma thesis is separate into two sections. First'll be based on theory and secondly relate on my personal experiences and practices and daily perception of my colleagues. Theoretical section among others comes out from publications of educational and pedagogic experts and my working practices. Practical section is based on answers of questionnaires which'll be distributed to teachers in basic and nursery schools. I'll parallel questionnaires and results of evaluation of pupils in pre-primary classes. In conclusion I would like to summarize knowledge and refer on limitations and positives of actual educational system.

Bachelor thesis focuses on the education of patients with oral anticoagulation therapy with Warfarin. In its theoretical part discusses the two main objectives. The aim of the first part of this work is to provide information on education, guidelines and terms of education, but also the specifics of education of patients treated with Warfarin in cardiology clinic. The second goal is to provide comprehensive information on anti-coagulant drugs - Warfarin. Focus of this work consists of empirical research based on quantitative survey with standardized questionnaire methods, mapping knowledge and information of patients treated with anticoagulant drug Warfarin. The sample of respondents consists of 50 81 patients followed up in cardiology clinic in Velke Mezirici. In the period from November 2009 to February 2010. The outcome of this work is based on observed results from the questionnaire design educational theory hours for patients initiating therapy with Warfarin and a proposal for an information brochure.

Numerické řešení proudění kolem vibrujícího leteckého profilu
Honzátko, R. ; Horáček, Jaromír ; Kozel, K.
The work deals with numerical solution of 2D inviscid and viscous incompressible flow over the airfoil NACA 0012 in a channel. The finite volume method with cell-centered schemes at quadrilateral C-mesh is used. Governing equations are the Euler equations in the case of inviscid flow and Navier-Stokes equations in the case of viscous flow. The small disturbance theory applied to a numerical solution of unsteady flow is mentioned and the brief introduction is also given to the ALE method.

The Impact of Labour Migration from Countries of Central and Eastern Europe on Labour Market of the United Kingdom since 2004
Chadimová, Kristýna ; Gráf, Václav (advisor) ; Šmíd, Jan (referee)
The thesis deals with immigration flows from Central and Eastern Europe to the United Kingdom and with its impact on wages and unemployment of the British population after opening the local labour market in 2004. The thesis analyzed statistical data focused on flows of immigrants and the conditions of the British labour market. The conclusion of this study is that these immigrants had no adverse effects on wages and unemployment of natives. In connection to the dual labour market theory are pointed out the advantages of immigration for a modern developed economy. Conclusions drawn from the United Kingdom and its experience with immigration from Central and Eastern Europe are applied to the German labour market which is currently still closed for immigrants from Central and Eastern Europe.
