Comparison of contemporary terrorism with terrorism of 1970s and 1980s
Knytlová, Petra ; Mlejnek, Josef (advisor) ; Charvát, Jan (referee)
The thesis deals with terrorism and its development as a social phenomenon since 1970s. It has argued that terrorism has undergone a process of radicalization and globalization, particularly as a result of the changed international situation and proliferation of modern technology. Nationalistic terrorism has been replaced with a global form of terrorism. In a similar vein, revolutionist ideologies, typical for terrorist groups of 1970s and 1980s, has given a way to radical interpretations of religions, namely Islamism, which has received substantial popularity as a result of prevailing grievances of the Muslim world. Even though there is no clear distinction between the old and the new form of terrorism, the two social phenomena differ to an important extent. During the second half of 20th century leftist terrorist groups dominated the scene with their fight for a regime change and battle against capitalism as well as imperialism. The organization of the groups took the form of hierarchy and had only limited number of members. At the beginning of the new millennium, the situation changed dramatically with the proliferation of Islamic groups, including the global terrorist group al-Qaeda. The groups work without a formal power structure and are able to hit targets anywhere in the world, as the...

Natural and experimental definitive hosts of Fascioloides magna and Fasciola hepatica.
Melounová, Klára ; Kašný, Martin (advisor) ; Novobilský, Adam (referee)
Fascioloides magna (giant liver fluke) and Fasciola hepatica (liver fluke) are veterinary and medically important endoparasites belonging to the class Trematoda, subclass Digenea. They are the causative agents of the diseases fascioloidosis (F. magna) and fascioliasis (F. hepatica). They can infect a wide range of definitive hosts to which they cause serious health problems often leading to death. The typical final hosts of F. magna are primarily members of free living cervids, but this fluke can also occasionally occurs in domestic bovids. In contrast to this, F. hepatica is mostly parasite of domestic animals and rarely of cervids. The typical localization of both trematodes inside the definitive host is primarily the liver tissue - F. magna liver pseudocyst and F. hepatica bile ducts. In the liver tissue both flukes cause significant damage. Each species of host developed specific defense system to the invasion, some of them are quite resistant to the infection, some of them susceptive. Key words: Fluke, Fascioloides magna, Fasciola hepatica, definitive hosts, experimental hosts, pathogenicity, interaction.

Can we find mechanisms of Sects in the Protestant Churches?
Borecki, Lukáš ; Hošek, Pavel (advisor) ; Vojtíšek, Zdeněk (referee)
Theme: Can we found mechanisms of Sects in the Protestant Churches? This work brings knowledge of some of the mechanisms of functioning together, as in the Churches and Sects. In the individual chapters are described, the mechanisms for the management and operation of the community, methods and practices of acquiring new members, and finally, mechanisms and practices to maintain these new members within the community. The result is the acquisition of new knowledge concerning the diversity and contrast, on the common features they share each other's Protestant Church amd Sects. The aim of the work is to draw attention to the mechanisms in the Christian Church, which is harmful and should therefore be deleted. Keywords Mechanisms, Sect, Scientologia, Church of Jehovova, People of Temple, Protestants Church, guru, the Parson, the recruitment of members, to the maintenance of the members,

Theoretical Investigation of silver clusters in zeolites
Hermann, Jan ; Nachtigall, Petr (advisor) ; Fišer, Jiří (referee)
The structure and stability of Agn+ 3 clusters (n = 1, 2, 3) in zeolite Y and their photochemical properties are investigated. Silver-exchanged zeolites have potential technological applications as UV-to-visible light converters. The structure and stability of silver clusters were examined using the periodic den- sity functional theory (DFT), and employing a developed and programmed geometry optimization driver. Non-reduced silver cations are preferably lo- cated in 6-member rings, far from each other. Upon a partial reduction, trigonal clusters are formed in the sodalite cages. The photochemical prop- erties are examined by various methods including the EOM-CCSD, MRPT2 and TD-DFT. No charge transfer transitions from ligands to silver clusters are found. Instead, transitions involving d and s electrons on silver clusters fall in the visible spectral range. Our results contradict the previous sugges- tion proposing existence of linear silver clusters through a double-6-member ring unit. Both parts of our investigations (structural and photochemical) disprove this previous proposition. A new interpretation of experimental spectra is proposed-the reduced trigonal silver cluster is responsible for photoactivity of Ag-doped zeolites with a low silver loading. Theoretical in- vestigation reported in this...

John III. of Rosenberg, the grand prior of the Czech province of the Hospitallers and the regent of Rosemberger's house
Kotlárová, Simona ; Zilynská, Blanka (advisor) ; Čechura, Jaroslav (referee) ; Šimůnek, Robert (referee)
The work is concerning John III of Rosenberg, the significant figure of the Hospitallers, the Order that had operated in the first half of the 16th century. He was a representative of significant Czech clan. The clan had been influencing Czech politi cal affairs and the nobility's status in the country over 600 years. The oldest family member of the Vitkovci (Witikonids), Vitek (Witiko) of Prcice, was present at Royal Court and his descendants had performed diplomatic duties ordered by Czech kings many times. They had reached due to their merits some of the privileges provided by rulers and those had assured them the position on the top of Czech nobility ladder until the complete end of the clan. The Witikonids had also been gaining owing to their marriage strategy estates in Austria frontier areas and that helped them to beeome independent from Czech governors. Exactly this fact contributed to reach an exeeptional status among Czech noble community. They had also found themselves in the situation fighting for the peers' emancipation even against kings many times. The Witikonids were successful in skillful using the situation when the Czech country had not been controlled by any strong royal power as for instance in the times of Jan Lucembursky (John the Blind) and through getting loans they acquired major...

Concurrence of the Position of a Governing Body and Statutory Authorization in Limited Companies and Cooperative in a Comparative Context
Fröhlich, Lukáš ; Černá, Stanislava (advisor) ; Liška, Petr (referee)
1 Concurrence of the Position of a Governing Body and Statutory Authorization in Limited Companies and Cooperative in a Comparative Context Abstract The thesis provides an analysis of function concurrence between board members and employees to the extent of board members in companies limited by shares and in a society. The aim of this thesis is to describe the relative issues, problematic and controversial aspects of current doctrine and propose possible solutions, which could be acceptable for legal theory as well as for legal practice. The work is divided into three main parts. The first part deals with the validity of employment contract in case of concurrence of functions. The second part then describes the issue of company representation in case of concurrence of functions. The last part describes the relative issues, which are common to both previous sections. The first part deals mainly with the current legal regulation of the employment contract in case of concurrence of functions. Not long ago, the employment contract was held as invalid by case law; however a recent legislation has brought some reasonable changes and has explicitly declared the validity of the employment contract. Nevertheless, this has produced also some new issues, especially in the case of conflicts between the employment...

Destiny of land owners during the land reform in the Czechoslovak republic (years 1918 - 1923)
Syrochmanová, Hana ; Doležalová, Antonie (advisor) ; Váňa, Daniel (referee)
This thesis researches the land reform in the Czechoslovak Republic in the years 1918 -- 1923. The sence of this thesis was to find out how the land owners lived in the years 1918 - 1923 and how the land reform influenced them. The thesis also researches if the land owners involved themselves in politics and if the politicians influenced the land reform to their interest. The next point of the thesis describes activities of The Union Of Czechoslovak Land Owners - some problems that its' members had to solve. The second part of the thesis contains two cases of executing of the land reform. It is concerned of two large landed estates - Dobříš, owned by Colloredo Mannsfeld and Netolice-Libějice, owned by Schwarzenberg. In these cases the writer researches who was influenced by the land reform on these estates. The conclusion is that the employees of these estates were the most affected by the land reform. The land owners were not so much harmed, because they had other estates in other countries and many other pieces of land. But intervention to their ownership was big. The land reform in the Czechoslovak Republic in the years 1918 - 1923 harmed the people in whose favour was the reform made - small farmers and employees on the large landed estates.
