Irish neutrality during the Second World War
Geaney, Kathleen Brenda ; Rovná, Lenka (advisor) ; Rak, Jiří (referee)
The Second World War is a watershed in modern history from which no state was immune. Ireland, or, if so wished the twenty-six counties with its British dominion status, pursued a policy of neutrality throughout the conflict. It is this policy of neutrality, and its Irish interpretation, that we have chosen as the object of our analysis. During the war years and after, various myths concerning the Irish policy of neutrality came into being, One such myth, for instance, is that Ireland was pro-German; another that Ireland deliberately and actively helped Great Britain. The aim of this doctoral thesis is to uncover what Irish neutrality meant in reality. For this reason, the prevailing conditions, both external and internal are examined, inasmuch as such conditions not only influenced the form Irish neutrality took but even predetermined its existence. At the same time, the role of the individual in the whole process, in our case pre-eminently that of Eamon de Valéra, is not overlooked. Key words: Ireland, Great Britain, Germany, the United States, neutrality, national interest, individual

The Reception of Friedrich Ludwig Jahn and his Ideas in the German Gymnastic Club
Klement, Martin ; Stellner, František (advisor) ; Županič, Jan (referee)
The goal of this paper is to analyse the evolution of the perception of the German gymnastic movement founder Friedrich Ludwig Jahn (1778-1852) and of his ideology in the German Gymnastic Club. Since the eighties of the 19th century, the Jahn's ideas had been specifically interpreted in the gymnastic clubs in Lower Austria. This interpretation, under the direct influence of growing racial anti-Semitism, consisted of an extreme national and racial intolerance. The clubs, since 1889 associated in German Gymnastic Club, gradually made their way to the radically national movement that gained the epithet of "völkisch". Various methods have been applied to determine how the club adopted, interpreted and in its own way also changed the Jahn's teaching in the field of the language, physical exercise, national and anti-Semitic ideology and, last but not least, in terms of festivities and symbology. The result of the study has shown that the "völkisch" interpretation of Jahn's controversial ideas enabled the Club to lay the foundations for the new ideology which was to become dominant in the gymnastic movement of the German speaking countries in the thirties of the 20th century.

Exoscopy of sediments of glacigenous accumulation landforms
Křížová, Lenka ; Křížek, Marek (advisor) ; Lisá, Lenka (referee)
This thesis looks at the comparison between grain micromorphology of moraines, debris flows and similar accumulations. Moraine samples were taken in the Černé jezero Lake area, Bohemian Forest, in the Velická dolina Valley, High Tatras, and in the Labský důl Valley, Krkonoše Mts. Samples of debris flows and unverified accumulations were taken in the Důl Bílého Labe Valley, Krkonoše Mts., and further samples of accumulations were obtained from the valley of Prudký potok Stream, Králický Sněžník Mts., the valley of Vražedný potok Stream and Velká Kotlina, Hrubý Jeseník Mts. Sediments were examined under electron microscope and their morphological characteristics and influence of the environment were identified and described. Calculated exoscopic moraine standard was used for comparison of examined forms of relief using distance coefficients, statistical analysis were carried out which identified diagnostic characters for distinguishing moraines and debris flows. There was also calculated exoscopic standard for different types of moraines (frontal, lateral, basal). This research highlighted the differences between moraines and debris flows, and between different types of moraines. The study also proved that typical glacial microtextures, that are generally accepted, occur at similar levels on grains...

Mechanical properties of soils of the Kolný sand pit
Englmaierová, Martina ; Boháč, Jan (advisor) ; Miča, Lumír (referee)
This thesis originated as a part of the PhD research carried out by Mgr. Radek Suchomel. To calibrate a hypoplastic model for granular materials a large number of laboratory tests was needed and a part of the testing constitutes the present thesis. The hypoplastic model by von Wolffersdorff (1996) has eight materials parameters. The critical state fiction angle φc', which was obtained directly by the measurement of the angle of repose, is one of the eight parameters. Other parameters are determined form the results of experiments and empirically. Aim of this thesis was to carry out field and laboratory tests, to determine selected soil properties and to interpret them with regard to the variability of the soil in the selected face of the sand pit. The material for investigation comes from the south part of the Cretaceous Třeboň Basin in the South Bohemia from the Kolný sand pit. The pit is located in the upper part of the Klikov layers. The fluvial layers are characterised by rhythmical variation of gravely sands, sands and sands with dark grey clayey inclusion. Samples were taken in the face of the sand pit with the dimensions of 9 x 36 m. The following tests were performed: drained triaxial compression test (38 samples), oedometric compression test (38 samples), measurement of the angle of repose...

Atomistické simulace uspořádávání v niklových slitinách pod vlivem mechanického napětí
Buršík, Jiří
Systems containing up to six alloing elements typical of advanced Ni-based superalloys were modelled.their ordering was simulated at atomic level using a Monte Carlo approach with púeriodic boundary conditions and Kawasaki dynamics.molecular dynamics routines were embedded into standard kinetic Ising model to account for relaxing of local atomic positions.Straining computer experiments show that elastic parameters and bulk modulus undergo comparatively large changes at the beginning of ordering process.

Statistical image analysis in quality control
Legát, David ; Antoch, Jaromír (advisor) ; Dohnal, Gejza (referee) ; Tunák, Maroš (referee)
Title: Statistical image analysis in quality control Author: David Legát Department: Department of probability and mathematical statistics Supervisor: Prof. RNDr. Jaromír Antoch, CSc. Abstract: Currently, necessity to handle unstructured data rises significantly. One important area of unstructured data manipulation is signal processing such as audio and video, for which there exist many procedures. This work deals with the statistical approach to image processing, in which the image is interpreted as a representative of a random field. It describes two problems: removing noise from an image which facilitates better interpretation of the image, and image classification, in which we try to identify and recognize objects displayed. Part of the work aimed at eliminating of noise deals primarily with the use of MCMC simulation methods. These procedures can be tested in software that is included. Part of the work dealing with the classification of the image describes various modifications of classification trees methods. An example of image processing, which is the identification of defects in woven fabrics, is presented at the end. 1

The development of the village Zubrnice and foundation of the Zubrnice's museum
Dlasková, Michaela ; Dvořáková, Michaela (referee) ; Županič, Jan (advisor)
The bachelor work is corcening about history of village Zubrnice after the second world war. It is recording the departure of German population and the arrival of Czech population. This change of population had an important meaning to the devolopment of the village. The agriculture declined after second world war. It was the most importand way for the village to this time. A lot of houses were destroied after the arrived of Czech population. This demolition impoverished Zubrnice about a big part of people's architecture. The work is corcening about the development of Zubrnice in differen parts like agriculture and education for example. The sekond part of the bachelor work is corcening about foundation of Zubrnice's museum. It started to originate in 70. years. The founder was František Ledvinka, the doctor of history. The work is corcening about the houses in Zubrnice's museum, first of all the church of saint Mary Magdalene and the watermills which are on the brook in Zubrnice.

The Development of the Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary in Družec from its beginning until today
Nedbalová, Alice ; Pučalík, Marek (advisor) ; Royt, Jan (referee)
The development of the church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary in Družec, from its beginning until today My bachelor thesis about "The development of the church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary in Družec, from its beginning until today", resumes all available articles and literature of this object. The church of Družec was a popular pilgrimage destination, especially in the baroque times. But during the following centuries it has become forgotten. The Madonna of Družec is a gothic sculpture from around 1400 that pilgrims believed could perform miracles. The mobiliary of this church is of mostly baroque. Valuable Rococo images depicting the life of Saint Francis of Paola, by Frantisek Palko, were lost. The other baroque pieces of the mobiliary were renovated in the last fifteen years. The main donator of this church was the noble family of Martinic. Their members have merit in the reconstruction of the church and they financed it. In their barony they continued to build a lot of church objects. Družec Pilgrimage destination Gothic Madonna Baroque z Martinic Počet znaků: 65182

The Application of Technical Analysis to the Czech Capital Market in the Period of Economic Recession
Špringer, Milan ; Pígl, Jan (advisor)
These lines deal with both theoretical and analytical view of real usability of individual methods and techniques in the Czech capital market in the period of economic crisis (2008-2009). The document introduces the basic technical analysis methodology (the technique based on graphics outputs of specific data files and the technique based on the mathematical indicators) in the theoretical chapters. An introduction and subsequent description of the mentioned methodology in the sphere of price predication of shares and funds is the main tendency in this theoretical chapter, not the profound interpretation. The work attends to concrete analysing of some basic hypothesises of common usability of our main theme, technical analysis. Price development of the selected titles and the endeavour to apply the techniques described in the theoretical chapter to these data series are included in the analytical chapter. The reader wants to make his own idea of how is the real usage of such an analysis difficult. Very helpful is also a demonstration of a big measure of subjective level in production and calculation of some indicators. Final part shows us the most interesting results for the practical usability of the mentioned methods and indicators in the sphere of the Czech Capital Market.
