VINTROVÁ, Michaela
The aim of this thesis is to evaluate various activities of the organizations dealing with foreigners´ integration to the society in the Czech Republic, particularly in South Bohemian region, represented mainly by České Budějovice. There are many of these organizations in the mentioned city and the practical part of my thesis whose main goal is to bring information about their activities and further evaluation focuses on the two ones having been chosen. Besides the practical part, there is the theoretical part focusing on the problems of migration and integration in general. Theoretical terms and their explanation, the development of integration in the Czech Republic and current information on these issues can be found there. This part also focuses on Czech inhabitants´ attitudes towards this social phenomenon and their opinions on the presence of foreigners. Immigration shouldn´t pose a threat for anybody and Czech inhabitants should try to tolerate it and, even more, view it as a benefit for our country as a whole, both from the social and economical point of view. There are three alternative strategies dealing with the phenomenon of immigration and the strategy of acceptation viewing it as a challenge which is needed to be converted to the profit for society is one of them. This challenge isn´t a threat.

The concept of identity is defined as a three-dimensional phenomenon, which means: who I am, how I present myself, and how I am perceived by the others, or (if you like) who I am not, how I do not present myself, how I am not perceived by the others. The thesis particularly focuses on the question of the minority self-inclusion to the social context as viewed by 12 witnesses of the expulsion of Germans from Czechoslovakia after WW2 (nowadays participating in Hřebečsko Patriotic Association), and also in the perspective of the Sudeten German regional literature and newspapers.
