textual modifications of Lustig's prose
Peštálová, Lenka ; Peterka, Josef (advisor) ; Mocná, Dagmar (referee)
Cizojazyčné resumé Textual modifications of Lustig's prose The aim of the thesis was to discover the processes of Arnošt Lustig's interference into his previously published work and giving them the final form. The author of this paper was interested in the changes being only supplementary additions of the story or if the meaning is significantly influenced by writer's editing. At the same time, the question about the reason, function and meaning of the changes was raised. For the research three Lustig's books, were chosen: Noc a naděje, Modlitba pro Kateřinu Horovitzovou and Dita Saxová. They slightly vary in genre. The first chapter is about textology. The second chapter Poetics of Arnošt Lustig deals with Judaism as his inspiration, context of the time period in which he was active - the second wave of War prose, the topics of his prose being rather mono-thematically from Jewish background and with his characters, weak and humiliated people who remain moral winners although they often die. The third, fourth and fifth chapter are more about individual books. Their first publication is compared with the last one. The added texts are then sequenced into logical units, described and commented. All chapters contain short conclusion. The last closing chapter presents the results of the thesis. Lustig's...

ŠAFOV – URBAN RENEWAL OF A VILLAGE IN THE BORDER REGION
Ličmanová, Eva ; Adamková, Jana (referee) ; Havliš, Karel (advisor)
Thesis deals with Šafov, small village located near Austrian border. History of the village is quite dramatic. Population is ten times smaller nowadays than during its greatest prosperity. At the village there was a jewish part destroyed during and after World War II. Nowadays there are only a few houses and jewish cemetary. Continuity was extremely aborted after World War II, when most residents had to leave their homes because of German nationality. New comming people early had to live very close to Iron Curtain. After many years Šafov can breathe freely but stigma of the past is still evident. I try to preserve dramatical history but also design new active plan. Thesis is divided to three parts: urban planning, architecture and landscape. There are some bigger interventions and also small and easily realizable ones.

Specific Midwife´s Care of Jewish Woman
MAŘÍKOVÁ, Eva
The thesis deals with Jewish culture and its relation to nursing in the Czech Republic. In the introductory section the most important historical moments of Jewish culture are mentioned, the origin of Jewish culture, religious and philosophical ideas of Judaism and its branches are described. The most comprehensive chapter presents Jewish festivals and Jewish family life. These are the crucial indicators of lifestyle from the religious point of view. They show how religion influences adolescence, the man´s and woman´s role in the family as well as life itself. The theoretical part of the thesis is closed with the description of nursing care specifics. Topics such as basic nursing care, the care for a dying person, stepping of a Jew into life, i.e. circumcision, childbirth or abortion are covered. The exploratory question on specific needs of Jewish women while given nursing care by a midwife was asked. The aim of the thesis was to learn midwives´ awareness on specifics of nursing women of Jewish religion. The results of the research show that midwives´ awareness is not high, for example 50% of midwives are convinced that termination of pregnancy is absolutely forbidden in Jewish culture, the absolute majority of midwives could not give the definition of Sabbath. But on the other hand, this information cannot even be found in literature dealing with multicultural nursing care. The hypothesis that midwives do not have enough knowledge about specifics of the care for Jewish women was confirmed. However, it is also difficult to make Jewish women communicate openly and get relevant information. Therefore it is necessary to seek for specifics of nursing care actively to improve the quality of nursing care. But yet the research brought the insight into specifics of nursing care such as insistence on caregivers´ adequate expertise or demand of quietness and privacy. In the course of pregnancy women do not require more attention than usual, do not give up their professional careers, but they slow down the pace by relaxing more. The other hypothesis suggests that while providing them with nursing care it is possible for midwives to meet all the specific needs of Jewish women. The results of the research show that it is possible to meet specific needs in full if we do our best to seek for concrete specifics when communicating with a Jewish patient.
