Current practice and perspectives of the surrogate institutional care for the children and adolescents with behavioural disorders in the Czech Republic

The theses provide a unique view on the phenomenon of institutional care for children and adolescents with behavioural disorders in the Czech Republic. The aim of the theses was to reflect changes in the procedure of surrogate institutional care during last years and to suggest a perspective for the future development of these changes, including potential solutions to mediate emergent problems. The theoretical part of the theses describes historical roots, influences and traditions that stimulated recent development of the surrogate institutional care for children and adolescents with behavioural disorders. Furthermore, there is detailed analysis of legislation and changes that have been incorporated after 2002 as well as of the status of the surrogate institutional care in the system of complex care for problematic children. There is also evaluation of potential risks of institutional care, forms of educative care and social profiles of children that are placed in surrogate-care institutions. The research chapter of the theses includes qualitative analysis of daily regime in surrogate-care institutions, analyses internal social relationships and latent value algorithms of social workers.

Current situation of hospice in Czech Republic

In this thesis, I'm focusing on description of present-day situation as for palliative medicine and care for terminal ill patients. Diploma work offers more complexive view on the relationship between non-governmental and state sector, in field of care for terminal ill patients. Diploma work combines teoretical background and information, achived by the studium of literature and my own experiences, and practical facts. Author got these facts during the studium of present-day situation in field of care for terminal ill patients. For helping improve the hospice position in czech society I involved in this thesis the analysis of cooperation between hospices and press. I also involved, for the same purpose, the recommendation for improving this cooperation (or for establishing the cooperation). Diploma work will be offered to the Charles University - Faculty of Humane studies, to the involved and other hospices and to the other readers too.

Primary preventive care in orofacial clefts

Facial clefts are among the most common congenital defects. Their incidence ranges 1 to 500 to 550 births. The etiological factors are diverse. Most often the formation of clefts cause genetic factors together with environmental factors. Among the genetic factors include the child's sex and genetic predisposition. It discovered several candidate genes that influence the development of orofacial complex. These genes are e.g. TGFα, RARA, BCl3, DLX2, MSX1, TGFB3. Environmental factors are maternal obesity, maternal smoking, alcohol consumption, alcohol, nutritional status of the mother, hypervitaminosis A, folic acid deficiency, effects of pollutants in the workplace and environment, medication teratogenic active drugs, maternal infection, hyperthermia, exposure to ionizing radiation and the effects of stress. The mechanism of the increased risk of defects in maternal obesity may be unknown diabetes with hyperglycemia and hyperinsulinismem, hyperestronismus a lack of folic acid, which is needed in obese women increased. Studies on the influence of maternal smoking on the formation of clefts are not consistent in their results. Alcohol consumption has been repeatedly shown to be a risk while no correlation was found to dose. Increased incidence is evident under fetal alcohol syndrome. The quality of maternal...

The Assessment of Pain by a Nurse and the Control of Post-operative Pain

This diploma work is focused on post-surgical pain. It lays out the role of a nurse in pain assessment, factors influencing post-surgical pain and ways of its controlling. It also publishes the results of the research organized in the surgical fields of the Central Military Hospital Prague in January and February 2006. The work is structured into two large parts, theoretical and empirical one. The diploma work underlines the importance of the team cooperation of all those who participate in pain management and in individualized complex nursing care for a patient in the past-surgical time period.

Development and history of nursing care in dialyzed patients This bachelor thesis is divided into two basic parts. The first part deals with the development and history of nursing care in dialyzed patients. The second part contains a questionnaire survey focused on finding the most common nursing problems in hemodialyzed and peritoneally dialyzed patients. It should follow from my study that the professional attitude of the nursing staff, complex, planned and individualized care for patients and friendly approach to them significantly influence not only the quality of nursing care but also the quality of life of a dialyzed patient.

Position, tasks and education of military nurses and medics in garrison infirmaries

Title : Position, tasks and education of military nurses and medics in garrison infirmaries. Key words: Miitary medical service of the army of the Czech Republic, military nurse and medic, the law no. 96/2004, it includes for lifetime education, registration, programme of continual military education for nurses after 2006 The main goal was to characterize position, activities and education of military nurses and medics working in garrison infirmaries. To provide a complex view the work was divided into three main parts. The introductory part is focused on the structure of military health care system. The basic element of providing health care in the army, garrison infirmaries, is discussed in detail. The next part is focused on tasks of military nurses and medics in garrison infirmaries and also on their work and position. The last part presents the education of nurses. It briefly summarizes possibilities of education based on the new legislation. The possibilities of education in specific military environment are also discussed.The research part is targeted at specific questions on military nurses and medics serving in garrison infirmaries.
